Chapter 590: Chapter 590 Battle Against the Snake Horde (2)

Feng Xuxu tapped the ground with her feet and rose into the air, following the petals as they flew toward God Mountain.

Dugu Chen closely followed his wife’s silhouette, gliding through the sky right behind her, his gaze occasionally sweeping the woods, paying close attention to any movements within.

The rest of the group also entered the dense forest, except Xiaobai who stayed behind, guarding the remaining spiders that were slaughtering each other. She couldn’t let any of them escape; this was the task her brother-in-law had entrusted to her.

As they hurried through the forest, Feng Xuxu and the others moved like the wind. Xie Wenbin, facing the relentless pursuit of the petals, felt immensely stifled. Despite several quick dodges, he couldn’t evade the petals and ended up wounded by them.

Xie Wenbin looked at the numerous small wounds on his body, all thin and bleeding intermittently. Fortunately, they hadn’t struck any vital parts. Just as he paused for a moment, Feng Xuxu and the others caught up with him, gazing at his sorry state, his few remaining clothes embarrassingly fluttering in the wind, revealing the color of his underwear for all to see.

"What are you, a demon or a ghost?" Xie Wenbin, leaning against a tree, looked up at her.

Feng Xuxu was taken aback by his question, then her smile grew wider, "Hehehe, I am a human."

Xie Wenbin shook his head with a wry smile, "I don’t believe you. I’ve lived most of my life and have never seen someone who can vanish and reappear in an instant."

Feng Xuxu shrugged her shoulders, "If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do. You can go ask the King of Hell if I’m a human or a ghost."

Xie Wenbin closed his eyes, not struggling any further. Feng Xuxu then waved her hand, and the leaves on the ground whirled up with the wind toward him, but someone disrupted the attack just then.

"Master, your disciple has arrived late," Zhu Si used his long robe to block some of the leaves, while the rest were deflected by using his Inner Strength to lift the turf from the ground, barely blocking the remainder of the fiercely flying leaves.

Xie Wenbin, who thought he was surely doomed, opened his eyes excitedly, gripping his disciple’s hand and trembling, "Not late, not late, just in time."

Feng Xuxu looked at the newcomers with annoyance, "Hmph, another one courting death." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Who’s really going to die is still unknown," Zhu Si immediately retorted.

"Talking tough with your last breath," Feng Xuxu, vexed, flicked her wrist, sending a swarm of differently colored petals whistling with fierce wind towards the master and disciple.

The two narrowly avoided them, Zhu Si’s arm being pulled by his master, "I’ll hold them off; you quickly summon the snakes!"

"Right," Zhu Si was seeing flower petals used as weapons for the first time, noticing his master’s extremely cautious expression was proof they were facing a tough opponent.

Since his disciple’s arrival, Xie Wenbin felt an adrenaline rush, glaring fiercely at their adversaries, "The heavens have truly opened their eyes; it seems Xie Wenbin’s fate is not yet sealed."

"How long do you think you can hold out? You’re overestimating yourself," Feng Xuxu replied, now calm, quietly watching him struggle.

Xie Wenbin gave a grim laugh, "Overestimating myself? What of it? At worst, we’ll all go down together. If one dies, we’re even. If two die, I gain one. Look at you all; today, I’m making a profit."

Dugu Chen regarded him as if he were a madman, his cool gaze fixed on him as he slapped through the air with a fierce gust in a single-handed palm strike toward Xie Wenbin.

Xie Wenbin’s eyes widened as he narrowly dodged, but he was still grazed by the edge of the palm wind, falling to the ground and coughing a few times before spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood. He touched his chest, raised his bloodied smile to Feng Xuxu, his eyes filled with bloodshot veins, his forehead veins throbbing, laughing maniacally, "You’ve run out of chances, let’s die together, Ahahaha." In his frenzy, he was singularly focused on their death, seeking revenge for his only son.
