Unrequited Love Thresher-Chapter 85: Dinosaur!
“Dude, is their class insane or what?!”
“Pffft! Look at them lined up!”
“Shit, the more I look at it, the more I want one.”
Class 1-8. Ha Giyeon’s class, and the one drawing the most attention at the sports festival, dressed in inflatable dinosaur suits. Amid the rustling noise and the bursts of laughter around him, Giyeon stood still, expression calm.
Originally, their class outfit was supposed to be dinosaur pajamas. But after repeated delays in shipping, what finally arrived were inflatable dinosaur suits. At first, everyone had protested and demanded replacements—but after getting half their money refunded, they decided to just go with it.
Even the kids who didn’t want to wear them got excited once all eyes were on them. Giyeon, too, became the center of attention. Normally, that would’ve made him freeze up in discomfort, but today, he surprisingly wore a relaxed face. Normally, he would’ve been overwhelmed and ditched the outfit immediately. But once he stepped out onto the field, it ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) wasn’t so bad.
Once inside the suit, your face was barely visible—unless someone looked closely, they couldn’t tell who was who. People might stare, but it wasn’t Ha Giyeon they were seeing. So it didn’t matter.
More importantly—what really made him like the suit—was that when Ha Dohoon came looking for him, he saw the dinosaurs, got confused, and walked away. Giyeon had been just a few steps away, but Dohoon hadn’t recognized him and passed by.
Even Kwon Jongseok and Choi Mujin had looked flustered, cursed under their breath, and walked off.
“Where the hell is Ha Giyeon?!”
When Choi Mujin yelled, all the dinos turned their heads in sync, looking at each other in confusion. Not even face to face could they figure out who was who. Giyeon just acted like someone else. In the end, Mujin gave up and left.
Giyeon felt genuinely grateful for the dino suit. It was hot—but that was a small price to pay to avoid them.
The only downside was that Son Suhyeon couldn’t find him either.

The sports festival opened with preliminary rounds for each event. The first-year tug-of-war lit up the field with a fierce back-and-forth—then Class 1-8 entered in their dino suits and instantly killed the mood.
When the dinosaurs took the field, the crowd exploded in laughter—except for one person.
“Huh? Taekyung, why aren’t you wearing yours?”
“Oh, mine ripped.”
Nam Taekyung laughed it off as he slipped on gloves and grabbed the rope. In truth, he had just refused to wear it because it was too embarrassing.
Once the line of dinosaurs gripped the rope, the opposing team burst out laughing.
“Pfff! You think you can even pull in those things?!”
“Come on! At least take the suits off!”
The taunts came flying—but no one in Giyeon’s class reacted. Not because they were composed, but because they literally couldn’t speak through the suits.
So no one knew what kinds of expressions they were making inside. No one watching expected Class 1-8 to win. Not even their homeroom teacher.
They had only one big kid—and compared to the wrestling club members on the opposing team, they were laughable. As students began whispering about forfeiting, someone quietly spoke up.
“What about this idea?”
The vice class president, his voice calm and serious. So serious, in fact, that even Taekyung’s crew stopped and listened.
“Would that actually work?”
“Isn’t that just gonna make us a bigger joke?”
“Well, it’s the only option we’ve got, so it’s worth a try.”
With a strange glint in his eye, the vice president won them over one by one. As the dinos huddled in deep strategy talks, passing students struggled to hold back laughter.
And now, it was time to execute that idea.
Hands extended from the suits, each wearing cotton gloves, and everyone gripped the rope and took deep breaths. The crowd expected them to get dragged across the field like fools.
Standing in the center, the teacher raised a starter gun.
“Alright, ready...”
BANG!
With the crack of the gun, the rope went taut.
And then, for one fleeting moment, everyone present at the sports festival felt like they’d been hurled into the past. This wasn’t a school field—it was Earth in chaos, a meteor falling from the sky.
The Cretaceous period. The mournful cries of soon-to-be-extinct dinosaurs echoed across the field.
“SKREEEEE!”
“RAAAAAAAWR!”
“KEEK! KEEK!”
The dinosaurs roared as they pulled. Giyeon, embarrassed to death, still couldn’t just stand still while everyone else gave it their all. He braced his core and screamed as loud as he could. Thank God for the suit—he could hide his face.
“PULLLLLL!”
Their unholy screeches stunned the opposing team. The moment of confusion gave Class 1-8 the edge. Yelling like their lives depended on it, they tugged with wild force—and the rope started moving.
“Crap! They’re pulling us!”
“I can’t—I’m laughing too hard!”
“BAHAHAHA!”
The other team was too busy laughing to resist properly. Giyeon’s team yanked and yanked until the rope was clearly tipped in their favor.
“Stop! Victory goes to Class 8!”
“WAAAAAHHH!”
“WE WONNNNNN!”
The dinosaurs jumped and hugged each other in glee. Students and teachers alike burst into laughter. Since the match began, no one had been able to stop laughing. People were literally rolling on the ground, crying with laughter.
“What is up with that class?”
“They actually won?”
“Who came up with that?! Genius! Freaking genius!”
As everyone watched these unhinged dinos claim their proud victory, there was one person who couldn’t laugh. Son Suhyeon stared with utter disbelief.
What... did I just witness?
For a second, it felt like a vision from the Cretaceous had appeared and vanished. Was this really a planned strategy? Well, it worked, so who could say anything...
But did Giyeon do that too?
Suhyeon had been worried Giyeon might get hurt during the tug-of-war. But now, he couldn’t even tell which dinosaur he was.
Did he scream too...?
The thought made him burst into laughter. Imagining Giyeon, red in the face, yelling while pulling the rope—too damn cute.
If only the suits showed their faces. He could’ve seen Giyeon’s expression. That thought was short-lived, though, as a new problem surfaced.
How the hell am I supposed to find Giyeon later?
Was he going to have to check every single dinosaur one by one?

After the tug-of-war came the semifinals of the ball games—soccer, then volleyball, then basketball. Due to safety concerns, the teachers made them take off the dinosaur suits for those.
Giyeon was secretly relieved. The idea of playing volleyball in that suit was horrifying. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
When the first-year soccer match began, Class 1-8—once thought to be the dark horse—suddenly floundered. Maybe it was a bad day, or maybe just nerves, but Nam Taekyung kept missing the goal—either hitting the post or getting blocked. In the end, they lost 2–0.
“Ahhh, Taekyung...”
“Dude’s useless.”
The class, fiercely competitive about soccer, didn’t hold back. When Taekyung limped off claiming an injury, they muttered bitterly and sent him to the nurse.
“Taekyung got hurt? I didn’t see him fall.”
“He’s just bailing. Messed up so bad he couldn’t take it.”
“Should’ve kept the game plan from prelims.”
Hearing the complaints, Giyeon got nervous. What if he made a mistake and they turned on him too? He was used to being cursed at—but for some reason, he didn’t want to hear it today.
With growing anxiety, he headed toward the gym for the volleyball match.
That’s when he felt a hand gently grasp his wrist. It wasn’t rough or jarring—just enough to stop him. He turned his head, and just as expected—Son Suhyeon was there.
“Finally found you...”
“Suhyeon-ie hyung!”
“Your class shirt made it impossible to tell you apart.”
Suhyeon fell into step beside him as they walked toward the gym.
“You said you were playing volleyball, right?”
“Ah, yeah...”
“...? Why do you look so tense? You said you were doing well during practice.”
“It’s just... now that the game’s here, I’m scared I’ll mess it up...”
Hearing Giyeon stammer, Suhyeon blinked in surprise. He’d expected Giyeon to say something like, “Eh, I’ll just take the blame if I screw up.” But here he was, looking anxious and human—more like a regular high schooler than the mature facade he usually wore.
“If you’re nervous, try thinking about something else. Focusing too much on the game can trip you up.”
“Like what...?”
“I don’t know... like, what should we eat for lunch?”
“Lunch... today?”
When Giyeon turned his head in surprise, Suhyeon looked away and continued.
“You usually sneak out to eat during events like this, right... Wanna come with me?”
The school lunch wasn’t bad during sports day—but plenty of students still snuck out to grab something better. The teachers usually turned a blind eye.
Giyeon’s surprise quickly shifted to excitement. Since entering high school, he’d never snuck out for lunch. He used to be forced to tag along with his brothers, but now that didn’t matter—and free food was still important. Sure, it could go on his permanent record, but... just this once, with Suhyeon...
“If you play your match without getting hurt and win, I’ll buy you lunch.”
“...!”
It would be his first time sneaking out with Suhyeon.
There was no way he was letting that chance slip by.
