Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 295: Return to the East Sea
Seeing this, Zhang Guodong couldn't help but smile helplessly. As a man of experience, how could he not understand his own daughter's feelings?
In truth, Zhang Guodong also liked Lin Kuang a great deal. If possible, he would have been more than willing to have Lin Kuang as his son-in-law.
However, Lin Kuang was already Yang Wucheng's future son-in-law, which meant he was already in a relationship. He couldn't possibly let his own daughter compete with Yang Wucheng's daughter for Lin Kuang, could he?
With this in mind, Zhang Guodong said, "Zirou, Dad actually likes Lin Kuang very much, too. If you could be with him, I would be very happy."
Hearing her father's words, Zhang Zirou's pretty face flushed an even deeper shade of red, and her heart felt warm and shy.
However, Zhang Guodong's next words made her fervent heart freeze over.
"But Lin Kuang and your Uncle Yang's daughter, Yang Ruoxi, are a couple. Their relationship is basically set in stone. You shouldn't get involved," Zhang Guodong said with a bitter smile.
Zhang Zirou's flushed face turned a few shades paler, and her racing heart gradually calmed down.
Maybe this is just a momentary infatuation… Maybe I'll forget him after a while. But... can I really forget him? Zhang Zirou wondered.
Feelings like these weren't something one could simply decide to forget. Whether or not Zhang Zirou could ever get over Lin Kuang was something even she probably didn't know.
After all, who can possibly know what the future holds?
The two cars sped along the highway. After more than two hours, Zhang Guodong and Lin Kuang finally returned to the Nanjing Military Region.
The moment they stepped into the conference room, smiles spread across the faces of Yang Wucheng and Liang Kai.
Meanwhile, Tang Lingwen was holding her daughter, unable to stop her sobs. Zhang Zirou, however, wasn't crying; instead, she was comforting her mother.
"Good lad! I knew you'd succeed!" Yang Wucheng laughed heartily upon seeing Lin Kuang's return, his mood exceptionally bright.
"Ahem, I was just lucky," Lin Kuang said, coughing awkwardly at Yang Wucheng's excitement. "I captured him, but some issues came up along the way."
With that, Lin Kuang recounted the incident with Okamoto Ohki's voice changer, including his own analysis of the situation.
Hearing Lin Kuang's words, the expressions of Zhang Guodong, Yang Wucheng, and Liang Kai all turned solemn. They were all too aware of what his words implied.
"Liang Kai, take Okamoto Ohki for interrogation. Have someone analyze this syringe and get me the results as quickly as possible," Zhang Guodong ordered, his tone heavy.
"Yes, Commander! I'll get on it right away!" Liang Kai replied, turning to leave with Okamoto Ohki in tow.
"Old Yang, are you still leaving tomorrow? This matter is becoming increasingly troublesome," Zhang Guodong said to Yang Wucheng, his expression grave.
"We'll leave as planned. Our bases aren't far from each other, so just notify me if anything happens. Besides, if there's a significant discovery, this matter will still need a decision from Yanjing. After all, some things are beyond our control," Yang Wucheng said with a hint of resignation.
Hearing this, Zhang Guodong nodded with a wry smile. What Yang Wucheng said was true.
"Alright then. You all go get some rest. I'll notify you if anything comes up," Zhang Guodong said with a smile.
Yang Wucheng and Lin Kuang nodded and then left the room.
As Lin Kuang was leaving, Zhang Zirou couldn't help but steal a glance at him, her beautiful eyes filled with reluctance. Zhang Guodong noticed his daughter's small gesture and felt a pang of helplessness, but he didn't know what to say.
Back in his room, Lin Kuang took a shower and lay down on his bed to rest. He would be heading back tomorrow, and the thought put him in a good mood. He sent text messages to Liu Shilin, the Witch, Lin Guo'er, Yang Ruotong, and Yang Ruoxi, chatting for a while before finally going to sleep.
Meanwhile, in Gao Zhanchun's villa, he sat in the living room with a grim face.
Okamoto Ohki had been out of contact for several hours. If Gao Zhanchun's guess was correct, the man was probably already dead or captured.
Of course, Gao Zhanchun didn't care whether Okamoto Ohki lived or died. What he cared about was whether Okamoto Ohki would rat him out. If he was exposed, things would become extremely complicated, possibly even costing him his position and his life.
"Sigh... Okamoto Ohki, I hope you don't rat me out," Gao Zhanchun muttered helplessly.
After a moment's thought, he dialed a phone number and spoke with the person on the other end for a full half hour before hanging up.
"I hope you all get to Nanjing quickly. I'll be waiting for you here," Gao Zhanchun murmured, his expression easing slightly.
At this point, Gao Zhanchun was ready to go all in. If worse came to worst, he was prepared to flee; he had already arranged his escape route. With that thought, he got up and went to find the twin sisters. They had been taking very good care of him lately, and he had become quite infatuated with them.
The night passed without incident. The next morning, Lin Kuang, Yang Wucheng, and the members of the Seal Special Team had breakfast before boarding a helicopter to return to East Sea.
They arrived in East Sea at nearly eight in the morning. Lin Kuang said goodbye to Yang Wucheng and drove off, intending to head to Yashi Company.
However, he reconsidered. It was Wednesday, so Yang Ruoxi and Xinxin likely weren't home. This was a good chance to go see Yang Ruotong.
The thought of Yang Ruotong's enchanting beauty made Lin Kuang's heart flutter. He immediately changed course and drove toward her villa.
At eight-thirty in the morning, Lin Kuang arrived at Yang Ruotong's villa.
Inside, Yang Ruotong was in the living room, bent over as she dusted. Her hips were thrust out, creating a very alluring sight.
"Morning, Sister Tong," Lin Kuang greeted with a chuckle, wrapping his arms around her from behind.
Yang Ruotong's delicate body shuddered. When she heard Lin Kuang's voice, she let out a sigh of relief, though her charming face flushed with color. She could feel the intense desire in his breathing.
"You bad boy. Aren't you afraid someone will see?" Yang Ruotong said shyly, her face blushing as she leaned obediently into his embrace, allowing his mischievous hands to roam freely.
"Not afraid. Having you here is all I need," Lin Kuang said with a smile, his hands growing even more audacious.
Stirred by his touch, Yang Ruotong's beautiful eyes grew hazy as she turned her shimmering gaze to him.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang no longer held back. He pinned Yang Ruotong to the couch and, for the first time, took her with wild abandon, right there in the living room.
