Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 1766 - 1767: Xiang Yu Forced to Leave
The four men were dispatched by their superiors to surveil Rumus, and now they’ve been captured by Rumus’ people, which is simply unimaginable.
Although their ranks aren’t high, they are trusted aides like the imperial envoys of the past; their rank may be low, but their power is significant.
The security unit of Rumus couldn’t manage these matters; they only listen to Rumus alone.
Now that Rumus ordered them to capture the four men, they hesitated no longer and took action.
"Rumus, how dare you capture me?" one of them said angrily.
"I, as the Deputy Commander of the Northern Military District, can’t even capture a small company commander like you?" Rumus said with a cold smile.
"Fine, you’ll regret this," the man glared at Rumus fiercely.
Rumus couldn’t be bothered to respond, then gestured for the four to be taken away.
He had no intention of harming them, just wanted to prevent them from interfering with his plan with Xiang Yu.
"Be careful yourself, I can’t help you much now," Rumus said somewhat apologetically.
This matter actually had nothing to do with Xiang Yu; Xiang Yu was doing this entirely to help Rumus.
"Don’t worry," Xiang Yu smiled, then turned around and left.
At this moment, in a detention room, one of the detainees was using a phone to make a call.
They were, after all, sent by higher authority; they just detained them temporarily without confiscating their phones.
"Chief, Rumus has detained us," the man said directly upon getting through.
"Say that again," the person on the other side said.
This person was Rolaff. When he heard this news, he couldn’t believe it. The four were sent by him, and Rumus dared to detain them, which was blatant defiance of orders.
"We are under house arrest..." The man explained the entire situation in detail.
"Understood, I’ll send someone immediately to get you out," Rolaff said, then hung up the phone abruptly.
After hanging up, he called his secretary and gave a few instructions.
The secretary merely nodded, then quickly walked out.
Meanwhile, Rumus was sitting in his office waiting for something. After entrusting matters to Xiang Yu, he felt relieved.
For some reason, he had a natural trust in Xiang Yu.
While he was leisurely drinking tea, four people walked in from outside.
They held a piece of paper, and with this paper, they boldly walked into Rumus’ room.
"Come with us now," one of them said seriously.
Rumus knew what was bound to happen had finally come.
This paper was issued by the second highest-ranking person in the military, specially designed for senior officer crimes.
Upon seeing this paper, Rumus was momentarily stunned, finally shook his head helplessly, then stood up and followed the four outside.
By this time, people had already gathered outside Rumus’ place.
"Release our commander, or else don’t blame me for being rude," said one in front, glaring fiercely at the four.
Seeing people all around, the four took out the paper from earlier.
"See this? We are here under orders. If you dare take action, you’ll be charged with treason," the person said urgently.
"I don’t understand these things. All I know is if anyone dares to harm my commander, I’ll fight them to the death," said one of the security guards earnestly.
Now the man was out of options, looking at Rumus somewhat pleadingly.
By now, Rumus had already entrusted everything to Xiang Yu; he had no concerns, so he told his soldiers, "I’m currently under investigation by higher-ups, it will be alright, the righteous have nothing to fear. I’ll be back soon."
The soldiers weren’t inclined to make way but had to clear a path under Rumus’ orders.
The four directly took Rumus into the car, driving all the way to the headquarters.
After leaving the Northern Military District, the four breathed a long sigh of relief. They were really worried Rumus’ security would chase them.
Rumus sat in the back with his eyes closed in a relaxed manner. Now he was betting on Xiang Yu to carry out the plan; otherwise, his career in power would have reached its end.
Rumus was brought back to headquarters, locked in a small dark room, and although he had never been here, he knew it must be where important political prisoners were held.
After being locked up, no one came to see him.
In his understanding, once captured, the person behind it would definitely come to talk to him, but that wasn’t the case; the person behind never showed up.
In the military district for so long, Rumus didn’t have many people worth trusting.
His security was one, and Xiang Yu was also one.
"Xiang Yu, it’s all up to you this time," Rumus murmured there.
After Xiang Yu returned from the military district, he quickly gathered Xiaoxuan and others, including Wu Jing who all came here.
"First temporarily leave this district; it’s no longer safe here. Wu Jing, take the First Battalion to Base 1," Xiang Yu arranged.
Then he looked at Ren Qing, "Now quickly take the Second Column to Base 2."
After arranging everything, Xiang Yu looked at everyone and said, "Let’s each move out. Before leaving, tidy up everything here, leave no evidence behind."
Though others didn’t know the situation, they followed Xiang Yu’s orders and took action separately.
At around nine in the evening, numerous military vehicles suddenly arrived outside Tianlong District, surrounding the community.
The order was from Rolaff, who had investigated the person who talked with Rumus; it was the owner of this district.
What disappointed her was that when these people arrived, Xiang Yu and his group had already left.
"Brother Yu, who are these people?" Tie Zhuzi asked, standing at a distance looking over.
"People sent to capture us," Xiang Yu said bluntly.
The soldiers searched the place, found no one, and left.
Currently, in a room in the capital, Rolaff was drinking tea, listening to reports from subordinates that the district was vacant, he frowned.
Clearly, the other side had guessed Rolaff’s intentions, which made him very displeased.
"Continue a thorough investigation, leave no stone unturned in this matter," Rolaff said, slamming the table.
The people around him rarely saw Rolaff angry; he was usually affable, and they didn’t know why he suddenly got furious today.
To Rolaff, since they had already left the villa, it meant they knew someone was after them, making capturing them even harder.
"Yes, Chief, we’ll definitely catch this person," said someone firmly.
Rolaff then calmed his mood a bit, gestured for them to leave.
"Daring to oppose me, hmm, you’re still a bit too green..."
