Chapter 1871: Chapter 1972: The Decisive Battle That Determines Fate

The next day came as expected.

Eck and a few others didn’t sleep well that night; they had a feeling something was about to happen, while Tie Zhuzi slept like a log until Xiao Xuan pulled him up, still dreaming about chopping people.

Everyone gathered in front of Xiang Yu, just as the sky was beginning to lighten.

"Are you all ready?" Xiang Yu asked with a smile.

"We’ve been ready." Tie Zhuzi replied, thrusting his iron rod forcefully into the ground.

Eck and the others didn’t speak; they already had their own plans. If Xiang Yu couldn’t handle the situation today, they intended to find another leader to follow.

Thinking back to when they first arrived with Xiang Yu, they felt a bit of regret; after all, it had been a rash decision.

"Are you ready or not? Why aren’t you talking?" Tie Zhuzi said, giving Eck a nudge.

"Ready," Eck said reluctantly.

Seeing that Eck wasn’t in the right mind, Tie Zhuzi couldn’t be bothered to say more, turning to Xiang Yu, "Brother Yu, let’s go."

Xiang Yu nodded, "Listen to my instructions. Don’t act rashly."

Everyone nodded. Xiang Yu checked the time; it was exactly 6:30 AM. He then led the group towards the rendezvous point. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Before reaching the meeting point, they saw Danyer already waiting for them.

"You finally came," Danyer said with a bit of excitement, as these people would be the foundation of his future empire.

"Let’s head in," suggested Xiang Yu.

"Don’t rush; the others haven’t arrived yet," Danyer replied. "Remember what I said: follow my lead."

"Remembered," Xiang Yu replied.

Tie Zhuzi, standing behind Danyer, clenched his fist and made a face.

Around seven o’clock, almost all the members of Hong Sha had arrived. Only then did Danyer lead Xiang Yu and the others inside.

They were all dressed in red, looking quite imposing.

Up front, the leader of Hong Sha, Sparta, held a machete and shouted, "Brothers, today is the day of fate. Whether we die or conquer will be determined today. Follow me, charge!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

The members of Hong Sha roared angrily.

After all, they were part of Hong Sha, and the outcome of the battle would directly affect their interests. For the sake of their future, they mustered all their courage.

"Okay, charge with me," said Sparta, jumping down with his machete and taking the lead forward.

He really looked like a king with that aura.

Over a hundred people, dressed in red, marched forward aggressively.

Danyer also carried a knife, looking fierce, but he led Xiang Yu’s group to the back.

"I’m telling you guys, just follow my lead," Danyer reminded Xiang Yu’s crew before setting off.

A large group of people moved mightily towards the central street.

At that moment, Xiang Yu felt like he was returning to the past.

Back when he first stepped into society, he hung out in gangs, but those days weren’t as wild as now.

After all, back in China, there were the police to keep things in check, while here everything was stagnant; there weren’t even proper national institutions.

Here, civilians faced constant threats from these people, and even if threatened, they had no way out.

"Brother Yu, this feels awesome," Tie Zhuzi enjoyed the nostalgia of being a thug, carrying an iron rod and chuckling behind.

Xiang Yu just smiled faintly without saying much.

The streets were empty, as if everyone knew today was special.

Yet, in the buildings along the sides, occasionally someone would peek out to look below, though not daring to observe openly, just sneakily behind curtains.

"Hong Sha will win."

Suddenly, someone shouted, and everyone followed in a roar.

"Damn it, scared me," Tie Zhuzi grumbled.

By then, they were nearing the central street, where they could hear the shouting ahead.

"Hei Sha will win!"

The shouting grew closer until they finally met on the central street.

The central street was long and wide on both sides, though a bit cluttered, it was a good spot for a fight.

The cold wind blew, sweeping dust from the ground, adding to the air of killing intent.

However, both Hong Sha and Hei Sha were surprised to see the rooftops on both sides of the central street filled with people.

There were men, women, old, and young, all standing silently as if watching a show.

Usually, such situations didn’t exist; they avoided it like the plague, and certainly wouldn’t come to watch.

"Something feels off today," Danyer murmured.

Although odd, the situation had reached this point where they couldn’t dwell on it.

The two groups moved towards the center mightily, stopping ten meters apart.

"Sparta, I advise you to surrender to avoid suffering once defeated," said Silu, the leader of Hei Sha.

"Ha, what a joke, Sparta laughed arrogantly. "Silu, though we are brothers by blood, if you have your men surrender now, I’ll spare your life. Otherwise, I’ll twist your head off once I defeat you."

Now that Sparta had recently recruited Xiang Yu and his group, he felt confident about their numbers, thinking victory was assured in this battle.

Hong Sha and Hei Sha had been fighting for years, dwindling from massive battles of hundreds to less than two hundred now, with many lost in battle.

More crucially, the medical conditions here were so poor that even minor injuries carried the risk of death.

Unaware of external medical advancements, they generally endured through illnesses.

Both sides had been weakened by the conflict, with many young people dying in the war.

It was silent around, only the two leaders were speaking.

"Do you know why they’re here?" Sparta glanced at those standing on rooftops.

Silu chuckled, "I naturally know. Today is a decisive battle between us; they’re concerned about who will rule, determining their destiny."

"Naturally, it’s me," said Sparta confidently. "If you don’t wake up to reality, this place will become your grave today."

"What a joke, you say this every time..."

They chatted on and on for half an hour. In the back, Tie Zhuzi, carrying his iron rod, grew impatient.

"Damn it, if you’re going to fight, fight already! What’s all this talk, never seen such a fight, so slow," Tie Zhuzi said in frustration.

At that moment, Danyer discreetly tugged him and gestured to Xiang Yu with a look.

Xiang Yu understood, then led Tie Zhuzi and the others to quietly sneak back with Danyer.

They cautiously entered a building, where Danyer whispered, "We’ll wait here; they’re about to start."

"How do you know?" Tie Zhuzi asked, puzzled.

"That’s how it usually goes. Talk for half an hour, then start. It’s about time," Danyer replied.
