The sky was barely light.

Li Nianqing, dressed in outdoor mountaineering gear, appeared outside Li Feng's room door and knocked: "Get up, it's time to set off."

"Come in, the door's not locked."

Li Nianqing frowned slightly but pushed the door open nonetheless.

"Wait for me a bit, I need to finish this game first."

Li Feng said, continuing to bury his head in the game, while Li Nianqing rolled her eyes next to him, her expression as if she had seen an alien.

"What kind of look is that? It's just a game to kill some time."

Li Nianqing scoffed coldly, then threw a backpack in front of Li Feng: "There's clothing you need to wear inside. Once we enter the mountain, it will be a rainforest filled with mosquitoes, insects, and snakes... Remember to apply insect repellent, know how to use it?"

Li Feng lifted his eyes toward Li Nianqing.

"You seem quite concerned about me."

Li Nianqing spat and coldly glanced at Li Feng: "Don't misunderstand, I'm merely fulfilling my responsibility."

"I'll give you ten minutes; I'll wait for you outside."

With that, Li Nianqing swiftly turned and left the room, while Li Feng watched her back and smiled faintly.

The rainforest environment was something Li Feng was intimately familiar with; he was practically a master at living in the rainforest.

Besides, with his current strength, he didn't need any insect repellent. His domineering Innate shield made mosquitoes, insects, and snakes dare not come near.

Li Feng opened the backpack, glanced at the clothes inside, and clicked his tongue; it was a couple's matching set.

Though it was September, and the autumn heat was intense, wearing long clothes to enter the rainforest was essential. Beyond the insects and snakes, the humid heat could cause dehydration.

Henongjia being a tourist area, the Mo Yin Sect wouldn't be built on the outskirts; obviously, it required entering deep into Henongjia.

A moment later, Li Feng changed and stepped out of the room.

Li Nianqing looked at the emerging Li Feng and said, "Let's go, we need to get a head start before the others wake up."

The guest house also accommodated some adventurers heading into Henongjia, though most would stop at the outskirts.

The two moved quickly one after the other towards the mountain entrance, the path here still considered decent due to the frequent foot traffic.

The sun was high.

"Let's stop and have some water."

Li Feng looked at the sun through the rainforest and halted his steps; he didn't feel tired, but Li Nianqing was sweating slightly from her forehead. He took out a bottle of water from his backpack and handed it over.

Li Nianqing glanced at Li Feng and didn't refuse his goodwill.

"How far do we still have to go?"

Li Feng asked.

Li Nianqing looked at Li Feng, who said, "This shouldn't be considered a secret, right? Your elders invited me to Mo Yin Sect, and you didn't blindfold me, so I should know what I need to know."

Li Nianqing took a sip of water and said, "It shouldn't be much farther."

"Oh."

"Let's go." Li Nianqing put the water back into the bag and once again led the way through the rainforest.

But in less than half an hour, Li Feng caught the strong scent of blood, a scent he was very sensitive to.

"Wait."

Li Feng extended his hand to hold Li Nianqing, who turned to look at him: "Let go."

"There's a scent of blood ahead; follow behind me." Li Feng released his hand and, without further explanation to Li Nianqing, leaped towards the direction of the blood scent, simultaneously expanding his senses to perceive the slightest movement around him.

In an instant.

Under an ancient tree, Li Feng saw an ape over one zhang tall. This ape had fur all over its body but with human-like facial features.

"Ape Da."

Li Nianqing saw the ape sitting before the tree trunk and was taken aback, quickly running forward. Li Feng turned his head to look at her.

"You know him?"

"Ape Da is the watchman of my Mo Yin Sect. Ape Da, how are you?"

Li Feng squatted down to inspect the colossal ape, noticing a deep claw wound visible to the bone on its chest, along with other scars likely from a fierce battle.

A rancid odor emanated from the wound, clearly festering; the dried blood indicated some time had passed.

"It's beyond saving; the wound is poisoned with corpse venom, seeping into the bloodline. It's still alive due to its formidable life force."

"Besides, you should be more worried about your sect than about him."

"What do you mean?"

Li Nianqing turned to look.

"Your intelligence should tell you, don't indulge in unrealistic fantasies; the Demon Path knows the location of your Mo Yin Sect."

"Yesterday's operation might have been a feint, or perhaps a scheme with a hidden motive, achieving two ends at once."

"Impossible, Mo Yin Sect's gateway is hidden; it's almost impossible for anyone outside our sect to find it."

"Almost impossible doesn't mean it is impossible."

Li Feng continued: "I hope my speculation is wrong; otherwise..."

If it's truly as Li Feng suggested, the Xu Family's affair was merely part of a larger plot, and the Demon Path had grand ambitions.

Xiang Zhuang's sword intent aimed at Pei Gong might be a warning; the Xu Family's ordeal merely a catalyst.

Moreover, it's not unimaginable, given that Mo Yin Sect and Demon Path are like fire and water, and disciples even joined the Superpower Investigation Bureau to counter the Demon Path; it's inherently incompatible.

You cause me unrest; how can I not retaliate? 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

If it were Li Feng, he'd definitely do the same.

Thinking back, the Xu Family's incident was significant, all over an aristocratic feud, seeking revenge through annihilation, which aligned with Demon Path behavior, albeit excessively flamboyant.

Li Nianqing bit her lips, feeling a sense of foreboding; earlier flashes of future scenes she believed were Xu Family's massacre no longer seemed accurate.

During the Xu Family incident, Demon Path figures barely showed up; the whole ordeal was fought using puppet zombies, and until the end, they only left behind certain items.

Li Nianqing abruptly rose and rushed swiftly towards the portal of Mo Yin Sect, with Li Feng closely behind.

After half a quarter-hour, the two arrived at a cliff, apparently blocked. The cliff was covered with vines, its height extending beyond sight.

Li Feng felt there should be a gateway here.

A gate to Mo Yin Sect.

"Watch out."

Just then, a burly figure leaped down from a thick branch, crashing towards the two.

Li Feng drew Li Nianqing behind him, raised a fist, and delivered a powerful airborne punch to the descending figure.

The domineering force transformed into a massive fist, colliding with the falling figure mid-air, knocking it backward.

"It's a copper puppet zombie."

Li Feng squinted at the humanoid that crashed into another tree, apparently unharmed, reminiscent of the numerous copper zombies he previously demolished at the Xu Family's mansion.

A sense of unease surged in his heart.

Thump.

Thump.

At that moment, several copper zombies leapt down from nearby trees, surrounding Li Feng and Li Nianqing.
