Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God-Chapter 1460: Old Men Who Refuse to Die Are Thieves
Staying in the village, there would be endless pleasures to enjoy, and I could even replace Chen Xu's position and ultimately become the Prophet of this village.
But that is clearly not what Li Feng wants.
He wants to go to Ancestor Dragon City, not for immortality, not for enlightenment.
Because his mother might be there.
This night.
Li Feng drank Dragon Yang Grass once again, until both women fell asleep. Li Feng opened his eyes and quietly left the room.
Li Feng dressed and chose to depart without saying farewell. As he stepped out of the treehouse, he saw a figure standing outside looking up at the blue sea night sky overhead.
"Mr. Chen."
Chen Xu did not turn around: "I suddenly miss the moon of my hometown."
Li Feng also looked up at the stunning night sky. On this dome, there was only a blue sea, no familiar moon.
Though beautiful, it's ultimately not home.
Chen Xu turned his head to look at Li Feng: "Have you decided?"
"Yes."
"Although I don't hold much hope for your journey, I still wish you great success. Here is an Amulet, infused with the essence of a Dragon; it can help you avoid some trouble."
Chen Xu handed an Amulet to Li Feng, who accepted it.
"One last piece of advice: no matter how fierce the Fierce Beasts are, they're merely sharp teeth and claws. It's the human heart that is most treacherous."
"Don't easily believe the promises or tales others give you."
"Alright."
"Mr. Chen, until we meet again."
With that, Li Feng saluted Chen Xu and resolutely turned and leapt from the tree crown. This forest was located in the eastern part of Kunlun World, so as long as he headed west, he could leave the forest.
Shortly after landing, Li Feng buried the Amulet given by Chen Xu under a tree. Though Chen Xu always acted like a wise Prophet, indifferent and all-seeing.
To Li Feng, he was straightforward and kept his promises, allowing Li Feng to leave after only seven days.
Though there was a small incident in between, everything was harmonious.
Li Feng's actions were somewhat ungrateful, but as a Mercenary Dragon King, he roamed the world and survived by one motto: never intend to harm others, but never fail to guard against them.
Sometimes, ninety-nine percent truth mixed with one lie is enough to leave someone with no place to die.
This Kunlun World, what is it really like? Li Feng would only measure it with his own eyes, not just listen to one-sided stories.
The Golden Crow appeared promptly on the horizon, flying from east to west, and the direction it flew was the best guide.
Li Feng sprinted all the way until his stomach growled, necessitating a stop. In the forest's outskirts, there were many small Spiritual Beasts. Recently, Li Feng had learned to identify some from Lu Luo and Zi Yan.
He hunted down a few Wind Rabbits, dealt with them simply, and kindled a fire to roast them.
"Who's there?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Li Feng suddenly lifted his head, looking towards a tree not far away.
In the next moment, a graceful figure emerged from behind the tree. Li Feng looked towards Zi Yan, clad in an animal skin skirt, carrying a bow, with two short blades sheathed at her waist.
"Are you here to see me off, or to kill me?"
Li Feng asked.
Zi Yan strutted gracefully towards the fire, "Take a guess."
"Whether it's the former or the latter, we should fill our stomachs first."
Zi Yan watched Li Feng as he focused intently on roasting the Wind Rabbits, then sat quietly beside him, waiting.
After a while.
Li Feng handed Zi Yan the roasted Wind Rabbit, then took another himself and devoured it ravenously.
Zi Yan took small bites of the Wind Rabbit, occasionally glancing at Li Feng.
"You don't seem afraid I'm here to kill you. Is it your confidence, or do you think after spending a few nights together as husband and wife, I will be merciful and not kill you?"
Li Feng swallowed a mouthful of Wind Rabbit meat and looked at Zi Yan.
"To kill me, unless that old man Chen acts personally, no one in your village can best me."
"Oh, really?"
Suddenly, Zi Yan stuck the roasted Wind Rabbit into the ground, swiftly drawing two short blades from her waist, her legs taut with explosive power, she was instantly before Li Feng.
Double Blades cut like shears, slicing directly towards Li Feng's neck.
"You do want to murder your husband."
Li Feng leapt aside, dodging the Double Blades. Zi Yan lifted her eyes, watching Li Feng jump over a meter away, her toes nudging the ground as she chased after him.
Li Feng snorted coldly, directly "Opening Eight Gates," opening the first gate.
The explosively multiplied power surged, and though Zi Yan's speed was fast, Li Feng's speed was even faster. He swiftly reached out, directly holding Zi Yan's wrist.
Zi Yan was taken aback, but Li Feng gave her no chance to react, instantly pinning her to the ground with a tackle.
"I understand you're afraid I'll reveal your hideout, as a place of refuge can't be given up so easily."
"In the village, over seventy percent are women, and most of the men are underage. Clearly, your village is always in danger and far from peaceful."
"If I chose to stay, it would be a happy ending for all. But since I've decided to leave, it's most sensible to eliminate me."
"The Amulet Chen gave me wasn't fake, but it must be a tracking device, right? He's indeed a good Prophet, but he underestimated me."
Li Feng said, letting go of Zi Yan.
"Go back and tell him, I will return. Not as a traitor seeking to capture you, but to lead you out of this Kunlun World."
Zi Yan watched Li Feng walk to the campfire and grab the remaining Wind Rabbit from the ground. She rose, biting her lip.
"The Prophet was right; you are sly; you don't trust him at all."
Zi Yan said.
"I trust my eyes more than believing others facilely."
"Even if he's a good person, good people sometimes kill for those they want to protect or for their beliefs."
"There's no right or wrong in that."
Zi Yan exhaled: "I'll follow you to Ancestor Dragon City."
Li Feng paused his eating, surprised, looking at Zi Yan, who walked to the campfire and grabbed the Wind Rabbit stuck in the ground.
"Surprised?"
"A little."
Li Feng nodded.
Zi Yan continued: "The Prophet told me if you leave with that Amulet, to find an opportunity to kill you."
"Because someone who easily trusts won't live long, and often the last to betray you are such people."
"And?"
Li Feng looked at Zi Yan with interest.
Zi Yan continued: "The Prophet also said, if you can't subdue me, then just kill me. Because a waste doesn't deserve to talk about the future."
Li Feng thought of that kindly old Chen and realized he was truly old and sly.
"Haha, he must have also said, if I discarded the Amulet and you haven't managed to kill me, then follow me, to watch over me and continue to look for chances. Secondly, if I really prove viable, place some bets on me."
"Right?"
