Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God-Chapter 1465: Stepping Out of Azure Dragon Forest
Xiao Luobing, feeling ignored, bit her lip, looking at Li Feng with a hint of a spoiled young lady's attitude.
Li Feng raised his eyes to look at Xiao Luobing.
"You have no choice."
"Why not? I'm determined to go to Ancestor Dragon City," Xiao Luobing stubbornly declared.
Li Feng let out a cold laugh.
"You insist on going? Fine, then go by yourself, don't follow me." Li Feng wasn't accommodating to her spoiled attitude.
Xiao Luobing glared at Li Feng: "Humph, who wants to follow you? I'm going with Zi Yan sis."
Zi Yan felt the gaze from Li Feng and shrugged: "Don't look at me, I wasn't the one encouraging her."
"Miss Xiao, this trip to Ancestor Dragon City is fraught with dangers. It's better to stay in our village, at least it wouldn't be as perilous."
"No, if he can go, why can't I?"
"Moreover, I need to go to Ancestor Dragon City to find my second and third brothers," Xiao Luobing firmly insisted.
"Even if you don't take me, I'm definitely going."
Zi Yan turned to look at Li Feng, indicating that he's her cousin, so he should persuade her.
Li Feng had no intention of persuading: "If you want to tag along, then tag along. Anyway, if you get caught, you won't die. With your looks and charm, there would be plenty who'd want you as a concubine, you might even infiltrate the enemy's ranks."
"Why don't you go be a live-in son-in-law, you're quite skilled at that," Xiao Luobing retorted aggressively.
"Oh?"
Zi Yan looked at Xiao Luobing in surprise; clearly, the gossiping heart of women is universal both outside and in Kunlun World.
"What happened?"
"Zi Yan sister, let me tell you, this guy has a ton of black history, especially being a live-in son-in-law, it's simply the shame of my Xiao Family..."
Xiao Luobing immediately rambled on and on, the two people beside were extremely embarrassed, afraid that Li Feng might lose his temper.
Li Feng remained calm as if the person Xiao Luobing was talking about wasn't him.
"I didn't expect you to have such experiences."
Zi Yan squinted at Li Feng.
Li Feng couldn't be bothered to explain: "Let's discuss the next step, we haven't even set foot outside the forest yet, leaving here is just the first step in a long journey."
"I asked you to raid here, not just to eliminate this outpost but also to obtain this."
"What's this?"
"Identity Jade."
"If you want to enter Ancestor Dragon City, the Identity Jade is essential. Without the jade on you, you'll be detected by its constraints, and you won't be able to hide."
"Won't it blow our cover?"
Li Feng took the Identity Jade thrown by Zi Yan and examined it. The jade felt like polished Hetian jade, sleek to the touch, with a subtle wave of spiritual energy.
Zi Yan shook her head.
"Short-term use won't be a problem, especially since they're at the frontier, not frequently communicating with Ancestor Dragon City."
"Moreover, Ancestor Dragon City's various forces, led by the Eight Families, are high above and won't care about such trifles."
"We've used this jade to infiltrate Ancestor Dragon City before and never encountered any issues."
Li Feng nodded.
"With the jade, we can enter Ancestor Dragon City. Now we have the ticket, only the journey remains."
Li Feng toyed with the Identity Jade.
"Hmm, I previously thought, if she wants to go to Ancestor Dragon City, we could disguise ourselves as members of the Ouyang Family and escort her there."
"Pretend to be from the Ouyang Family?"
"Yes."
Zi Yan nodded: "I hadn't expected Zhou Zheng to appear here. Zhou Zheng married into the Ouyang Family, one of the twenty-two top tier families. Given Ouyang Family's background, although he is just a live-in son-in-law, his status is low within the family."
"But as they say, 'you should consider the master's status when beating the dog,' Zhou Zheng relies on the Ouyang Family, which holds some standing in these frontier lands."
"His presence at this outpost was likely to capture you for reward, and with Miss Xiao's looks, taking her to Ancestor Dragon City, delivering her to the Ouyang Family would certainly be a credit."
"Therefore, you impersonate Zhou Zheng, I impersonate someone else, we escort Miss Xiao back to Ancestor Dragon City. As long as we don't encounter the estates of the Eight Families along the way, most will grant passage in respect of the Ouyang Family."
"This would save considerable trouble."
Marching boldly toward Ancestor Dragon City could be a strategy. After all, the shadow under the lamp is dark; going into hiding might attract attention, but walking openly might not raise suspicion.
"Sure, let's do it this way."
After agreeing, and having eaten roasted meat, the five of them rested for the night at the outpost camp, and the next day they parted ways.
Zi Yan had two who wanted to stay carry tokens into the forest, while Li Feng and the others drew out three horses resembling unicorns, entirely white, known as heavenly horses.
Li Feng took one, Zi Yan rode with Xiao Luobing on another, and the three along with two beasts followed the riverbank westward.
The unicorns moved as swiftly as the wind, in just a quarter of an hour, they had sprinted out of Azure Dragon Forest. Upon leaving the forest, a vast prairie unfolded before them.
The river meandered like a jade ribbon stretching into the distance. According to Zi Yan, the rivers here ultimately flow to Ancestor Dragon City, forming a massive lake around it.
"Look over there, such a magnificent herd of heavenly horses."
In the distance, a thousand heavenly horses galloped across the prairie, their satin-like white coats resembling drifting clouds swiftly passing over green waves.
Hardly had they recovered from the awe of the galloping herd when an eagle's cry pierced the sky.
The next moment, a shadow cast over the expansive prairie, covering an area as large as a stadium.
"It's the Overlord of the sky, the Roc."
"But don't be afraid; the Roc usually targets larger prey, for targets like ours would barely fill its teeth, it probably isn't interested."
Zi Yan hadn't finished speaking.
The Sky Overlord seemed to have spotted some prey, suddenly diving from the sky, its wings flapping created strong air currents that instantly whipped up a gale.
Grass leaves flew everywhere, and the Roc raised its talons to grip a small mountain on the ground, lifting it instantly.
Yet the mountain seemed to come alive. Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that it was a Rock Python hundreds of meters long, coiled into shape.
Li Feng took a deep breath, witnessing the resurrection of mythical creatures from the Book of Mountains and Seas in the Kunlun World.
What he had seen and learned in the past week was perhaps just the tip of the iceberg, as this world had only just begun to unveil its mysteries.
