Yujun’s POV
Waking up is hard, but getting out of the bed is even harder.
I sniffle as tears flood my eyes.
’Really, this baby makes us emotional at the smallest things’ my omega says and I sniffle again in agreement, at least it’s better than the nausea.
As I sit up, I find Jaehyun sleeping with his head on the bed and the rest of him on the floor.
It makes my heart hurt that he always lets me use him like this but never takes from me.
Quietly, I slip out of the bed and head for the door, but stop when my omega lets out a painful whine.
’Alpha’ he whines and I tip toe to the bed to pick up one hoodie from the pile to wrap around my neck.
I lean in to look at his face; he looks so much like a big puppy asleep.
His long dark hair falls over his face, and his lips are parted as he breathes softly, I am tempted to run my fingers on the stubble on his chin, but I don’t.
I don’t want to wake him up...I would never be able to leave if he wakes, I don’t want to look into those brown eyes and throw it all away.
One more step...one more step and I’ll return to Jaehyun.
"I will be back" I whisper to him and leave the room finally with his hoodie.
It’s still very early as I walk down to the hallway as silently as I can, when I suddenly bump into somebody.
"You’re leaving?" Yeon’s voice asks and I nod my head, choked up even by my own decision.
"When will you come back?" he asks and I shake my head, unsure of when, all I know is I need to convince Chan to speak with Kang Sihyuk to let me go.
"If you ever need anything, call me...take care of yourself" he says and gives me a hug before pressing a kiss on my temple.
"Mom, I’ll come back" I say firmly despite my shaky voice.
"I know, and if you don’t...we will come for you" he says and steps back from me with his omega eyes flashing.
"Yes, mom" I say and turn to leave again but he stops me again, "it’s still early, let me get someone to drive you home" he says.
He takes me to the garage and asks a member of the pack to drive me.
As I sit at the back of the seat as the older man drives.
I expect him to treat me badly, to treat me like the son of the enemy but he is silent and his scent is warm and receptive.
"The sun is pretty, isn’t it?" he asks and points to the rising sun, truly it is beautiful and I lean closer to the window to enjoy the view...something I have never had the luxury to do before.
"Our Jaehyun has always loved sunrise and sunsets, it’s been a while since I saw him enjoy one, poor boy is always busy now" the driver says and I lean back again.
It’s strange how he talks about Jaehyun like he’s his own flesh and blood, something that my own pack members will never do.
"Ahjussi" I say.
"Uh?" he responds, "I am a Choi...an enemy" I say and he scoffs.
"You are a person; your last name doesn’t take your humanity from you and shouldn’t frame your future for you" he says harshly, like a grandfather scolding his grandson and I blink.
"The Chois are bad people, I hate them as much as the next person, but you are a good child, you are just hurt" he stops talking and starts muttering about unfortunately bad people being blessed with good children.
"Thank you" I say softly and fold my legs on the chair, hugging my hoodie to myself.
Yunah is in the perfect place to grow, in the best place to be the person she should be, my heart feels even lighter.
"Son, I know no one asks to be born into the family they are born to and I know it makes decisions for you in ways you might not like" he says and I nod in affirmation.
"But the power is in your hand to change your story" he adds.
"I will change my story" I say, affirming what I want.
Once I get Chan to speak to his father, I will join the Hwangs without wars and I will do it legally.
"Is this a good place to stop?" the man asks as he arrives at the territory that is the Kangs and I nod.
"Thank you Ahjussi" I say to him with a grateful bow, and he waves at me, giving me a big smile before driving away.
I take steady steps into the gates of the Kangs house, and as soon as I get in, I find a number of men looking highly disturbed.
"There he is" someone whispers as I walk in through their midst and the rest turn around one by one to look at me.
I frown as a few of the men lets out sighs of relief, but I keep walking step by step.
A ghastly sight makes me stop in my tracks and I blink as I look at the two men that have been beaten bloody.
The man at the gate that I knocked out while escaping is tied to a chair with thick ropes around his body, next to him in the same position is the second guard...the one I tricked with Kimchi.
"What is going on?" I ask with a growl as I rush to stand in front of them, they didn’t do anything wrong.
"Incompetent men don’t belong with this superior clan" a man in dark shades says to me and pulls out a gun, aiming it at the men.
They wouldn’t dare shoot when I’m standing-

Bang!
I freeze as their blood splatters on my body.
"Get inside young Lord Choi, the Lord will be happy to know that you’re back" the man who shot the two men says with a smile and puts his gun back in its holster.
What?
My body turns around, and I walk into the house with my hoodie pressed to my chest as it dawns on me...I might never be able to leave.
As I walk down the hall, I hear Kang Sihyuk’s voice coming from a room.
"Don’t you understand you morons?" he says and I step closer to listen in, the smell of fear from the room is stinking up the hallway, like rotting fruit.
"I am terrified of that boy! He is dangerous! Find me the Choi boy or we are all dead" he says and the door is pushed open with a man flying out.
"S-sir...the Choi boy is here" the man that was thrown out says and I stand there without knowing what to do or say.
Kang Sihyuk is afraid of...Chan?
