Jaehyun’s POV
Yujun is still distracted by the pair, laughing at how Gawon is stiff yet adorable, while I have my eyes on the stalking woman.
"Hungry?" I ask Yujun and he nods.
"Let’s join the girls" I suggest, keeping my calm while plotting just how cleanly I will end that woman’s life without ruining my omega’s day.
"What should we eat?" Yujun asks as we go to the counter to pay for the lingerie.
The beta worker at the counter looks at me then at the lingerie in my hands, I slowly tilt my head with a smile, daring her to speak.
"This is your..." she says and hands the bag to me before letting me know the cost.
I smell the embarrassment in Yujun’s pheromones while I proudly and comfortably carry the bags.
"You can hold the bags a bit lower" Yujun mutters as we leave the shop together and I lift it higher, holding it partially above my head.
"Put it down" he exclaims and pulls my hand down while I keep on laughing at him.
"Sheesh, so shy" I tsk as we get to the girls.
"Oppa! Jaehyun oppa, we got some really cool clothes, what did you buy?" Yunah asks and her jaw drops as she sights the underwear store logo on the bag.
"Wow...that’s..." she blinks twice and I am jabbed in the rib by my strong omega.
"Ow! I didn’t do anything" I say, laughing as I speak.
Yujun and Yunah start to chat about the lingerie and what was bought, Yujun’s embarrassment keeps increasing and my eyes drift to the other omega female.
Gawon looks distracted, her eyes keep going to the hidden woman I am also targeting.
Ah...she’s alert, I like that.
I stretch my arms above my head to catch her attention and Yujun snatches the bag out of my hand to hand it over to Yunah.
"It wasn’t intentional" I say with laughter. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Can we have tteokbokki?" Yunah asks, pointing to a shop nearby and Yujun agrees, "you three go in, I need to make a call" I say and Yunah instantly takes her brother’s hand to take them in.
"Go" I say to Gawon but she folds her arms and leans her weight on her hip.
"I’m going after her too" she says and I sigh.
I really hate sharing my fucking victims, they should be mine alone, and I saw her first.
"I saw her first" I say.
"She was taking Yunah’s pictures" Gawon growls at me and I growl back but calm down when I realize, she isn’t trying to challenge me, she just wants to protect her mate.
I have done something similar for Yujun’s sake before.
’Fine’ my alpha huffs, willing to give in.
"Together" I say and she nods her head once.
"Together" she agrees and we walk towards the spot the woman is hiding, she is going through her pictures and when she lifts her head, she gasps.
"Who are you and what are you doing?" Gawon asks, her posture and tone are strong for an omega.
I stand at a good distance, hiding them with my frame and being on the lookout.
Even if I should be caught being a reckless idiot, Gawon wouldn’t be able to get away with it like I will.

"I-I that’s Yunah-ssi, the youngest daughter of the Chois" the woman stutters and Gawon growls as she crowds her, "what does it have to do with anything?" I ask from where I stand.
"The family is worried about her" the woman says and Gawon looks at me with questioning eyes, probably unaware of the trauma the so-called family has given both Yunah and Yujun.
"Deal with her" I say with a smile and nudge my chin, showing Gawon a secluded corner.
"No! wait!" the woman screams as Gawon pulls her to the corner but luckily no one looks, I fold my arms and wait.
The sounds of muffles scream, phone cracking and blows landing reaches my ears and three minutes later, Gawon returns with her signature straight face.
"Well?" I ask and she shrugs before walking ahead of me to return to the place we left our mates; I peek at the woman lying on the floor with her phone broken.
She’s still alive.
’I think I like this girl’ my alpha says.
I chuckle and wipe my sweaty palm on my pants before returning with her, I can’t take the satisfied smile off my face.
Gawon will do anything to protect her mate, but at the same time, she is not a lawless killer.
She is perfect for Yunah.
"Yah, where were you, the food is about to turn cold" Yunah calls loudly with a welcoming smile on her face, as she waves her hand.
"They went together...is the bonding magic already happening?" Yunah asks as Gawon sits next to her.
"Never" Gawon says under her breath.
"Never ever" I add and lean in to kiss the side of Yujun’s covered head.
"Hurry let’s eat" he says softly and slides my food to me, I look into his bowl and realize that he’s eating ramyeon.
"Ramyeon?" I ask and he keeps his head down as he slurps some.
"I really wanted it" he says with his mouth full and I sigh, this is our inner joke, the myth of Ramyeon being the root of all evil.
I eat my tteokbokki anyways and watch him eat.
When we finish, I ensure that we round up quickly and return home to Hwangyeon.
As soon as I arrive, I tell Yujun to go in first without me, before going straight to my father’s office, the personal one I grew up seeing him working for days in.
The same one that is the reason I hate the idea of ever becoming the Lord of the pack.
I knock once and go in without waiting for response.
My father is sitting at his table with some files in front of him as I walk in and bow deeply.
"Hello, my Lord" I greet and he grunts his response before coughing twice and shifting one of the papers away from him.
He is alone in the dark space, which is something rare.
"Sit" he says and I take my seat in front of him.
"This is a conversation that has been waiting to happen for a long time now" he says in a gruff voice.
"Yes, my lord" I say curtly.
"It is time you take your place as Lord of the pack" he says and I freeze.
