Chapter 201: Building The Realm

Not yet.

He stepped away from the sanctum’s edge and headed back toward the throne. His footsteps echoed again—only this time, each one carried more weight. A new rhythm. Not of doubt.

But movement.

Change.

By the time he returned to the throne room, his mind had already decided. He wasn’t just going to disappear into that trial realm and leave everything to rot. He had a realm now. A throne. A people—even if half of them feared him and the rest didn’t know what he wanted.

He’d figure it out later.

For now, he needed them gathered.

He took the long way down, no shortcuts. He passed through the outer wing, ignored the quiet glances of lesser vampires cleaning the walkways, and entered the old bell chamber where echoes could carry for miles.

A single pull.

The sound shook the skies again—deep and thick, a call that couldn’t be ignored. It wasn’t magic. It was legacy. Vampires across the realm would know the tone.

A summoning.

Within the hour, they arrived.

One by one. Two by two. Then groups.

Anita came first, her red coat bloodied from a recent mission. Alessia walked beside her, silent as a shadow. Ella arrived shortly after, her expression unreadable. Zane leaned against a pillar, chewing something. Dracula entered last, tall and composed, his cloak dragging behind him like a second skin.

Jax rolled in with a metal briefcase. Serah followed, venom in her smirk.

And Valena... quiet, curious, wearing a borrowed black cloak, still trying to make sense of the world around her.

Fenra stood near the entrance with two of her best. Twin werewolves in human form, cloaked and silent.

Lucian stood at the side of the hall, watching. The clone. Not fully human, not fully him. But here. And useful.

Lucifer waited until the doors shut.

Then stood.

"Everyone’s here."

His voice wasn’t loud. Didn’t need to be. Silence fell like a second skin across the throne room.

"I won’t waste time," he said, stepping down from the black obsidian steps. "This realm’s a mess."

No one argued.

"There are no schools. No proper training facilities. No central command. Half of you still follow the old blood laws, and the rest of you act like the system will protect you."

He looked at all of them.

"It won’t."

The words hit like stone. Not cruel. Just real.

Lucifer walked down the center of the room, passing Anita, passing Dracula. He didn’t pace. He just moved.

"There’s no structure. No fallback. And worse—there’s no unity. Some of you are monsters. Some of you are soldiers. But none of you are teachers. That ends now."

He turned toward Dracula.

"You’re in charge of the new school. Dean. Headmaster. Call it what you want."

Dracula blinked once, then nodded.

Lucifer glanced to the others. "Zane, Ella, Anita, Alessia—you’re instructors. Special divisions. Combat, survival, infiltration, strategy. I don’t care how you run it. Just make sure they can fight. All of them."

Anita raised an eyebrow. "Even the nobles?"

"Especially the nobles," Lucifer said. "Every vampire in this realm learns how to defend themselves. No more hiding behind names or houses."

He turned to Jax. "And you. You’re in charge of technology. Build labs. Terminals. Integration points. I want the realm connected. Systems. Surveillance. Communication."

Jax tapped the side of his head. "We’ll need raw materials."

"You’ll get them."

Lucifer gestured to Serah. "Help him. Use magic where tech fails. Blend both. Make something new."

Serah gave a lazy salute, then rolled her neck. "Guess I’m an architect now."

Lucifer moved on.

"Humans," he said next, stopping in front of Lucian and Valena. "We brought them here. They didn’t ask for it. And whether the rest of you like it or not—they’re under my protection."

Valena lowered her gaze slightly. Lucian stood straighter.

"They’ll be given land near the southern cliffs," Lucifer continued. "Not far from the black springs. Enough space to build, farm, grow. They’ll have rights. They’ll be safe."

Alessia frowned. "You think the old houses will accept that?"

Lucifer didn’t blink. "They’ll adapt."

He turned to Fenra.

"You’ll leave two of your best with them. Werewolves. Your choice."

Fenra nodded once. "If any vampire tries anything, they won’t live long enough to regret it."

Lucifer smirked.

"Good."

He paused, then gestured to Lucian.

"You’re their overseer. Not a leader. Not a ruler. Just someone to make sure things don’t go wrong. If they need something, you tell me. Tell Riven, he would assist Luna in leading the humans."

Lucian didn’t speak. He just nodded.

Simple. Clean.

Lucifer stepped back, letting his eyes pass over the room one last time.

"New rules," he said. "Effective now. This isn’t a sanctuary. This isn’t a blood lounge. It’s a kingdom. And it’s going to be stronger than anything that’s ever come before."

Dracula finally spoke.

"And what about you?"

Lucifer didn’t answer right away.

He turned toward the obsidian throne, then looked past it—toward the sanctum. Toward the thing he hadn’t yet entered.

"I’m going away for a while," he said at last. "Not forever. Just long enough to fix what the system failed to give me."

Zane crossed his arms. "You going soft on us?"

Lucifer chuckled, just once.

"No. Just tired of being slow."

Anita tilted her head. "And if something happens while you’re gone?"

"Handle it."

He looked around again.

"You’re the strongest beings in the world. Act like it."

He started walking. This time, toward the sanctum door.

But before he passed the archway, a voice echoed behind him.

Damaris.

Inside his mind.

"You’ve grown."

Lucifer didn’t turn.

But for a second, his jaw clenched.

"I had to."

And with that, he vanished into the corridor beyond, toward the place where time bent and death waited.

Toward the tower that would either remake him—

Or destroy him.
