Chapter 56 - Going Out

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, Zethan continued, his movements relentless. Lilia's vision blurred as she finally reached her peak, her release spilling onto his lips and face, where he remained locked against her.

Her breath came in soft, uneven gasps as her trembling body slowly settled. The heat of the moment left her dazed, her muscles weak, as if all the strength had drained from her limbs.

"You..." Her weak voice barely escaped her lips, little more than a whisper.

Zethan smiled, savoring the way she trembled in his hold, her body now completely freed of restraint, moving instinctively toward him. There was something intoxicating about the way she surrendered—how, despite her attempts to fight it, her body still responded so beautifully to his touch.

Carefully, he caught her before she could slump forward, lifting her with ease and turning her onto the bed. She barely stirred, her breathing already evening out.

He was surprised to find her already asleep.

A sigh escaped him as he gazed down at her peaceful form, brushing a stray strand of golden-brown hair from her face. Even in sleep, she was stunning. Her long lashes rested delicately against her cheeks, and her slightly parted lips looked so soft, so inviting.

Zethan tilted his head slightly, his fingers lingering near her cheek before he withdrew them.

He whispered, more to himself than to her, "What are you doing to me, Lilia?"

The question hung in the air, unanswered, as he continued watching her—his gaze dark with something unreadable.

Zethan licked his lips, chuckling as he recalled her earlier words about whether what they had done was even legal. He chuckled again before pinching her cheeks—then suddenly stilled.

W...was he smiling?

************

Lilia stirred slowly, her lashes fluttering as she registered the sensation of a firm, steady arm wrapped around her waist.

A sleepy sigh escaped her lips, her body instinctively relaxing into the warmth. But as soon as she became fully aware of the position she was in, her eyes snapped open.

Her breath hitched.

The situation was far more awkward than she had initially realized—her leg was draped over his, hooking him in place. Her shirt had ridden up slightly, exposing the smooth skin of her thighs, and her...

Her arms were wrapped around him.

No—she was pulling him closer.

Heat surged to her face as last night's memories came rushing back in vivid detail.

Did that really happen?

She swallowed, her body tensing as her mind struggled to catch up. It did.

The evidence was right in front of her—Zethan's steady breathing, the feeling of his bare skin against her, the possessive way his arm was still looped around her waist.

'I need to move'

Lilia shifted carefully, grateful that he was still asleep—at least she had a chance to escape without waking him. Slowly, she slid her leg off his, mindful of every movement.

She then attempted to free his hands, but that proved more difficult than expected. His grip was firm, as if even in sleep, he refused to let her go.

Her heart pounded as she took a slow, controlled breath. Steady... just move slowly.

With painstaking caution, she gently lifted his arm and placed it beside him. It was only then that she noticed something else—her cloth she was wearing his black shirt.

Lilia swallowed thickly, her fingers brushing against the fabric. It was oversized, the material soft against her skin, but it didn't change the fact that her thighs were still very much exposed.

Her stomach twisted.

'He changed my clothes...'

Her face burned at the thought, but she quickly pushed it aside. Now wasn't the time to dwell on it. She needed to get up before—

A sharp tug at her wrist stopped her.

Lilia froze.

Before she could react, a deep, husky voice broke the silence.

"Where do you think you're running off to, Loris?"

A jolt shot through her at the sound of his voice—deep, rich, and undeniably awake.

Her breath caught as she hesitantly turned toward him.

And, of course, he looked ridiculously beautiful.

There wasn't a single moment when his perfection didn't shine—even first thing in the morning. His silver hair was slightly tousled, a few rebellious strands falling across his face, only adding to his effortless allure. His sharp, piercing eyes gleamed as they met hers, and for a second, her heart stopped.

She swallowed. 'Calm down, Lilia.'

Forcing herself to appear composed, she cleared her throat. "Good morning," she said, managing a casual smile. "I wasn't running anywhere."

A soft laugh escaped her, though it felt awkward even to her own ears.

Zethan raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. His fingers remained curled around her wrist, his grip firm but not painful.

"Really?" His voice carried a teasing edge. "Then why were you sneaking?"

Lilia let out a nervous chuckle. "Sneaking? No, silly! I wasn't sneaking. I just didn't want to wake you."

Zethan lips curved up dangerously. "You didn't want to wake me?"

"Yes," she nodded quickly. "But it seems you were already awake." She attempted to move again. "Okay, I've got to go. You can go back to sleep. Just let me go."

But he didn't let go.

Instead, his grip remained steady, his gaze dark with amusement. "Don't you want to stay with me for a little while?"

Lilia opened her mouth, then closed it again. She wasn't sure how to respond.

"I... If I stay with you, I might end up falling asleep again," she admitted.

Zethan hummed. "That's fine." His voice was low, teasing. "We can sleep together."

Her face turned even redder. "Haha... If I sleep again, I'll be too lazy to get up and take a bath."

Zethan's smirk deepened. "That's fine. That's why I'm here."

Lilia blinked. "What?"

"I'll bathe you."

Her lips parted in disbelief. "You—"

Before she could react, Zethan pulled her closer, his warmth pressing against her. A small gasp escaped her as her oversized shirt shifted, exposing more of her thigh. She instinctively moved to cover herself, but Zethan only chuckled.

"It's fine," he murmured. "I've seen everything already."

Her hands flew to her face, her entire body heating up. "I know... You don't have to say it," she mumbled.

Zethan laughed, his chest vibrating against her. Then, without warning, he wrapped his arms around her from behind, his face resting against the back of her neck. His warmth surrounded her, making it impossible to think clearly.

"Stay with me just a little longer," he murmured, his voice low and coaxing.

Lilia shook her head, though she didn't move away.

Then his next words made her pause.

"We're leaving today."

Lilia stiffened. Slowly, she turned slightly, trying to read his expression. "Leaving?"

He met her gaze, his silver eyes calm yet firm. "We need to prepare your wedding ring."

Her breath hitched. "My wedding ring?"

Zethan nodded. "This is your engagement ring," he said, glancing at her finger. "Now we need the wedding ring."

Something in her chest tightened unexpectedly.

The engagement ring was just a promise—but the wedding ring... That was what would truly seal them together.

Lilia swallowed, nodding slowly. A small, hesitant smile formed on her lips.

No, Lilia, remember the divorce too," Jet's inner thoughts reminded her.

Then Zethan spoke quietly. "How was your punishment last night?"

Her entire body tensed.

Memories of the previous night came flooding back, and she quickly shook her head, her words spilling out before she could stop them.

"NO." her ears turned red.

Zethan chuckled, his lips curling into a knowing smirk, his eyes dark with amusement. He held her gaze for a long moment before whispering—

"Okay, then."

Later that Morning

The dining room was silent as Lilia ate quietly, deliberately avoiding the weight of Zethan's gaze. He had stopped eating, his full attention now fixed on her, as if merely watching her was enough to satisfy him.

She shifted slightly in her seat, trying to ignore the warmth creeping up her neck.

Dressed in a sleek black gown that stopped just above her knees, paired with delicate bow-accented shoes, Lilia looked effortlessly elegant. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her pink lips gleamed with a subtle gloss, completing her polished appearance.

Across from her, Zethan exuded his usual air of effortless dominance. He wore a simple yet exquisitely tailored shirt and pants, every detail perfectly fitted to complement his striking presence. His silver hair was brushed back, though a few rebellious strands fell across his face—only enhancing his dangerously alluring look.

His gaze remained steady, his piercing eyes locked onto her golden-brown irises—the very eyes that intrigued him most. They were always shifting, always revealing emotions she tried so hard to conceal.

Lilia could feel the intensity of his stare, and just as she lifted her head, their eyes met. Her breath hitched for a fraction of a second before she quickly looked away, forcing herself to focus on her plate.

"The food won't eat itself," she muttered.

Zethan's lips curled into a slow, devilish grin, amusement flickering in his eyes.

"Really?" he murmured. "Elaborate."

"I'd advise you to just eat your meal," Lilia said, her tone firm yet casual. Then, tilting her head slightly, she added, "Unless, of course, you'd rather I feed you myself."

His silver eyes darkened with interest, a glint of amusement flashing through them. Her sudden boldness caught him off guard—but only for a moment.

Lilia held his gaze for a beat longer before continuing, her voice smooth, unwavering.

"And I wouldn't hesitate to do just that."
