Chapter 535: Knowing your lover’s tastes

Han Xin’s eyes darted to Xiang Yu’s lips, and a fleeting smirk ghosted across his face as he caught sight of a glimmer of drool at the corner. In an instant, he got up while retrieving a handkerchief from his pocket.

Xiang Yu blinked, taken aback by the sudden attention but maintaining his silence, his gaze fixated on Han Xin with a spark of expectation flickering within.

Xiang Yu was a little surprised but he didnt say anything. He kept staring at Han Xin with a sparkle in his eye. It would be a lie if he said he didnt anticipate a kiss. The thought of their lips plastered to together just as he woke up made his heart flutter.

Unexpectedly, Han Xin’s hand reached out and wiped the corner of his lips. Xiang Yu was confused. His hand shot out and he held Han Xin’s wrist. "What’s wrong?" he blurted out, grasping the man’s wrist.

"You have something at the corner of your lips," Han Xin said, a slight laugh dancing in his words.

Heat rushed to Xiang Yu’s cheeks, and he snatched the handkerchief from Han Xin’s hand. "I will, I will do it," he replied quickly, his voice a mixture of fluster and resolve.

Han Xin watched him settle back down, his lips curling slightly at the corners as he acknowledged the little bout of shyness in Xiang Yu’s demeanour. "Okay," he said, amusement lacing his tone.

Xiang Yu dabbed at his lips with vigor, as if trying to erase any mark of his slumber. Each swipe felt like a small battle against the embarrassment flooding through him, the blush creeping deeper across his cheeks. His lips became redder under the persistent rubbing, and the entire time, Han Xin’s gaze was intense and focused on him.

Unbeknownst to Xiang Yu, he had become the object of Han Xin’s scrutiny. Han Xin-s gaze was not only tender... it was hungry and almost predatory. In other words, he was staring at him like he was staring at a piece of steak about to get eaten.

The air thickened with unspoken words between them, creating an intense atmosphere. Finally, Han Xin broke the silence. "You didn’t."

Xiang Yu’s brow furrowed in confusion. "Huh?" he managed to ask.

"You asked if you woke me up... You didn’t," Han Xin clarified, his voice smooth and steady.

Xiang Yu’s eyes widened slightly. He processed the information, stammering, "Oh." He was thinking that Han Xin was

definately lagging otherwise why would he delay to answer that question.

There was something in Han Xin’s gaze that told him there was more to this visit than met the eye.

Xiang Yu’s earlier embarrassment dissolved, replaced with a budding curiosity that tugged at the corners of his mind. He caught Han Xin still watching him, a knowing smile teasing his lips, and in that moment, he felt the allure of teasing his man rising in his chest.

He chuckled softly as he carefully put away the handkerchief. "I will give it back to you after washing it," he said, his tone light.

Han Xin almost replied that it was fine and that he could take it back right now. But a pause tugged at him, and he held back the words. "Okay," he finally said, unable to hide a small smile of his own.

Xiang Yu brightened. "Did you find anything good at the bunker?" he asked, his voice eager.

"Yes, we did. All thanks to you," Han Xin replied, his eyes twinkling with sincerity.

"Good! As long as it makes you happy," Xiang Yu grinned. The warmth in his words wrapped around Han Xin, catching him off guard. For a heartbeat, he found himself speechless, the truth of Xiang Yu’s statement hanging in the air between them.

After a moment, Han Xin stood up, forcing his thoughts back. "Which drink would you like?" he asked, trying to push aside the sudden rush of emotion.

Xiang Yu pointed to the purple can on the table. Han Xin picked it up, opening it with a soft hiss before placing it in front of Xiang Yu. "Here you go."

"Thanks," Xiang Yu said, taking the can with a pleased smile. He quickly opened a snack cake, its rich aroma filling the small space between them. With one bite, he closed his eyes in delight. "It’s good... it’s really good," he declared, the taste still fresh and warm in his mouth.

Han Xin opened his drink and took a sip. "How is it?" Xiang Yu asked, curious.

"It’s alright," Han Xin shrugged, his eyes drifting to the can.

Xiang Yu’s gaze sharpened, and he suggested, "Do you want to swap?"

Han Xin’s hand froze in mid-air, shock written on creeping on his face as he realized what Xiang Yu was suggesting. "I already drank it," he replied carefully, tempering the teasing note in his voice.

Xiang Yu shrugged, a playful glint in his eye. "It’s fine! We swapped spit last night anyway."

Han Xin blinked, caught entirely off guard. The boldness of Xiang Yu’s words lingered in the air, making it thick and charged. He opened his mouth to reply but found himself lost for words as Xiang Yu swiftly snatched the drink from him and took a long sip.

"Mmm, it’s sweet," Xiang Yu said, savouring the taste. Han Xin remained in stunned silence, eyes wide as he processed what had just happened.

As if deciding to change the subject, Xiang Yu tossed a packet of potato chips at Han Xin before saying, "You will like this flavour."

Han Xin caught the packet, amusement flickering through him. It was surprising how well Xiang Yu knew his tastes. He opened the bag, expecting the same old salty crunch, but was pleasantly surprised. The truffle and garlic flavor burst in his mouth, blending together in a way he didn’t expect.

"Hey, this is good," he admitted, his expression shifting from surprise to genuine pleasure.

"See? I know you," Xiang Yu teased, his eyes twinkling with delight. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"You really do but I wonder why," he replied, a level of sterness in his tone.
