Villain: I Must NTR All The Hidden Bosses!-Chapter 35: He would take it all.
The room was so quiet, James could hear his own heartbeat. It wasn’t a peaceful silence—it was the kind that made the air feel thick, like something heavy was pressing down on him.
Even though Marcellus had left, the tension was still there, hanging over them like a storm cloud.
James sat completely still, his hands loosely clasped together, his green eyes calm. But inside? His mind was racing.
’This situation is bad.’
He was in serious danger. He had barely escaped Marcellus’ spear, and even though he had bought some time, the problem hadn’t gone away.
Sooner or later, a Divine Investigator would arrive, and when that happened...
’Will they see me as a human or a demon?’
He didn’t know. And that was the problem. But based on cold logic and the current clues, he would most likely be seen as a demon and executed on the spot.
The most logical explanation was that his soul had entered this body during the hunting expedition.
That must have been the moment when Kaelan Voss—the original owner of this body—died.
But something didn’t add up.
Normally, when a soul from another world arrived, it would trigger the Heavenly Tribulation—a massive, undeniable event that announced the arrival of an outsider.
Terrifying lightning would fall. The sky would shake. The entire world would know. The unlucky soul would be exposed before they even got to settle down into this new world.
But that hadn’t happened.
’Why?’
James sighed, rubbing his temple. It all came back to that one event. The hunting expedition. That was the key to everything.
But there was still the same problem—
He had no memories of it.
’If I knew what happened back then, I might be able to explain things, maybe even come up with a solid alibi.’
Unfortunately, his mind was blank. He had all the skills and instincts of this body, but none of the memories.
He needed answers.
James turned his sharp gaze to Caylus, who had been sitting quietly across from him. "Tell me about the hunting expedition."
Caylus’ silver eyes flickered with something unreadable. He let out a slow, tired sigh and leaned back against his chair.
"We don’t know much," he admitted. "What we do know is that you somehow made it out of the hunting area. But when we found you—" He paused, his face darkening slightly.
James remained silent, waiting.
"You were barely alive," Caylus said at last. "Only your head and part of your chest remained. Everything else... was gone. Corroded."
James’ fingers twitched slightly.
"Your soul was also nearly erased," Caylus continued. "We didn’t think you were going to make it. And after investigating, we found traces of... something. A force similar to spirit possession."
James’ eyes narrowed. "Possession?"
Caylus nodded. "That’s what it looked like. But when we ran multiple tests, it didn’t add up. Your soul was still intact, just absurdly weak. There were no signs of another consciousness controlling you."
James exhaled slowly, absorbing the information.
Half his body was destroyed. His soul was nearly wiped out. And there were traces of an external force, but no confirmed possession.
’What the hell happened to this previous body’s owner?’
Before he could continue his thoughts—
[Ding!]
A crisp, metallic chime rang in his ears.
James stiffened. His vision flickered.
Then—
[Initializing Side Quest System...]
His pupils shrank.
A second notification followed immediately after.
[Ding! Host has received first side mission!]
A golden panel appeared in front of him, the glowing words burning into his vision.
—
[Side Mission: Break through to the 2nd Stage of Unsealing before completion of Main Mission.]
[Rewards:
Complete restoration of original owner’s memories.
Complete fusion of host’s soul with Aurendral.]
—
James stared at the screen, his breathing steady, but his mind racing.
What is this?
He read the mission again, his heartbeat strangely calm.
The rewards...
They were exactly what he needed!
Restoring the original owner’s memories? That was huge. That meant he would finally remember everything—his past, the hunting expedition, maybe even the truth behind his current situation.
But the second reward—
Complete soul fusion.
James’ fingers curled slightly.
Right now, his soul was considered foreign. A parasite in someone else’s body.
That was why he was suspected of being a demon. That was why the Imperial Code demanded his execution.
But if he fully fused with Aurendral?
Then he would no longer be seen as an outsider.
The origin test would prove that he was just another human of this world.
This was his way out.
James exhaled, his green eyes gleaming with cold determination.
His lips curved into a slow smirk.
"Then let’s begin."
He leaned back in his chair, fingers lightly tapping against the wooden armrest. His smirk remained, but there was a new weight behind it—something darker, something colder.
He had been thrown into this world without warning. Hunted. Judged. Nearly executed on the spot. And for what?
Because his soul was different? Because he wasn’t born here?
Ridiculous.
It had been a long time since he believed in things like fairness or justice. He mainly joined the police in his first life because he had naively thought to change this.
But not anymore. His eyes had been opened now.
The strong ruled, and the weak were crushed beneath their feet. That was the truth of every world—whether it was Earth or Aurendral.
And if this world wanted to label him a villain?
Fine.
He would become one.
But not the kind that waited for the so-called "heroes" to rise up and challenge him. No. He would be the kind that crushed those heroes before they even had a chance to stand.
The kind that ruled from the shadows, controlled the board, and made the whole world kneel before him.
He had no interest in playing the role of a helpless fugitive, constantly running, constantly fighting just to survive.
That wasn’t living—that was pathetic.
If Aurendral wanted to reject him, then he would make it his.
James slowly clenched his fist, green eyes burning with ambition.
No more playing defense.
No more being at the mercy of others.
From now on—
He would be the one holding the knife.
The kingdoms, the empires, the beauties, the entire balance of power in this world—
He would take it all.
Because if there was one thing Kaelan Voss knew, it was this:
There was nothing more terrifying than a villain with nothing to lose.
And Kaelan Voss would be even worse.
