Villain Ch 836. Shadowbane

Once Allen logged on, he found himself standing at the gates of the Cursed Crypts. A notification about his daily quest appeared in front of him, but he swiped it away. He would deal with it later.

Opening his friends list, he wasn’t surprised to see that the girls were all online. However, the party chat was unusually quiet, a sign that they were probably together. Allen decided to head into the Cursed Crypts, making his way towards Grimar, the blacksmith who was supposed to have his armor ready.

As he walked through the corridors, he summoned the party’s user interface chat with a wave of his hand. The translucent window appeared in front of him, and he began to type.

Azazel: Hey, where are you guys?

The response was almost immediate.

Lilieth: Oh, Allen is online.

Lullaby: We just finished hunting and are walking around Debaris City. Do you want to join us?

Allen smiled. He typed his reply quickly.

Azazel: Give me around ten minutes. I’ll join you guys.

Abyssia: Okay. We will wait for you in the middle of the city, near the dungeon entrance.

Allen closed the chat interface with a swipe of his hand and continued his way through the dark corridors of the Cursed Crypts. His steps echoed softly in the eerie silence. Finally, he arrived at Grimar’s forge.

Grimar was hard at work, hammering away at a glowing piece of metal. The clang of metal on metal rang out, reverberating through the chamber. Once Allen approached, Grimar looked up and a broad grin spread across his face.

"Ah, the emperor! Just in time," Grimar boomed, setting his hammer down and wiping his hands on a rag. "I’ve just finished your armor."

Allen stopped in front of the forge, his eyes narrowing with anticipation. "Is it ready?"

Grimar nodded and turned to a nearby rack, pulling out a set of dark, intricately designed armor. The armor gleamed with a sinister light, its surface etched with runes and symbols that pulsed with dark energy. "Here it is—Shadowbane."

Allen took the armor, feeling its weight and the power it exuded.

[You have received the Shadowbane armor!].

"This is impressive work, Grimar," Allen said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. "This will serve me well."

Grimar beamed with pride. "Only the best for the Devil Emperor. You’ll find that this armor not only boosts your defenses but also enhances your abilities."

Allen nodded, quickly equipping the armor.

[You just equipped Shadowbane armor!]

Name: Shadowbane

Class: Armor

Description: Imbued with the essence of the abyss, the Shadowbane armor envelops its wearer in a shroud of ethereal darkness, bestowing stealth and formidable defense upon the battlefield.

Stats:

Defense: +400

Strength: +30

Agility: +20

Vitality: +35

Shadow Veil Effect: Grants a chance to trigger a brief Shadow Veil state upon taking damage, reducing incoming damage by 25% for 5 seconds.

Allen turned to a nearby mirror and took a moment to check himself out. The reflection that greeted him was imposing. The new black armor, Shadowbane, made his avatar look even more formidable. The dark metal gleamed ominously under the dim light, and the intricate runes etched into the surface pulsed with a faint, eerie glow.

The armor had several parts that featured spikes, designed to inflict damage just by being in close proximity to him. The craftsmanship was impeccable, each piece fitting perfectly and making him look both menacing and powerful.

Allen grinned. ’Thank God I didn’t wear this armor yesterday,’ he thought. If he had, he wouldn’t have been able to land a hit on the emperor, and worse, he might have been the one getting hit by his own armor’s spikes.

"How does it feel?" Grimar asked, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

Allen turned to Grimar. "Powerful," he replied, flexing his fingers and feeling the armor respond to his movements. "You’ve outdone yourself, Grimar."

Grimar chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound. "That’s what I like to hear. Now go, show them the might of the Devil Emperor."

Allen gave a nod of thanks before turning to leave the forge. He made his way back through the Crypts. He summoned the party chat interface again, typing quickly.

Azazel: Got my new armor. I’ll be there in five.

Lilieth: Can’t wait to see it!

Eira: Hurry up, I’m getting bored here!

Azazel: Okay, okay.

Allen made his way to the portal room, but instead of selecting the portal to Debaris City, he chose the one to Black Castle. With a flash of light, he was transported and appeared in the middle of the altar. He hovered in the air. The scene below matched his expectations perfectly. The place was filled with players, especially at this hour.

The altar area of Black Castle was a hotspot for players, particularly healers and ranged DPS, who waited for their tanks to lure monsters to them. The strategic location offered them a vantage point and relative safety while dealing damage or providing support. Allen looked down at the congregation of players.

There were at least twenty-five players scattered around the area, each focused on their tasks. Allen’s mind quickly calculated the odds. He needed to complete his daily quest of killing ten players with a single skill, and this situation presented the perfect opportunity.

Allen smirked as he surveyed the scene below, a sense of anticipation building within him. The players were completely unaware of the impending doom. With a cold, calculating gaze, he simply extended his hand toward them. "Dark Storm," he muttered, his voice carrying an icy chill.

The players turned at the sound of his voice, eyes widening in shock and fear. But it was too late. The sky above them darkened, and the ground beneath them trembled as dark energy began to swirl and crackle with lightning. The first bolt struck, and the area was instantly shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by the flashes of malevolent lightning.

Panic erupted among the players. "What’s happening?" one of the healers shouted, her voice tinged with terror.

"It’s the Devil Emperor!" another player screamed, eyes wide with fear as he recognized Allen’s avatar.
