Villain: The Play of Destiny-Chapter 131
The first thing Keith did after reaching home from the office was to check out the song Alana had released today. He had written her a lot of songs for her to choose from, and after much deliberation, she decided to start with something that would earn her more recognition amongst the younger generation.
It was a wise decision, and so far, only the positive response was being ushered her way. In the last 10 hours, the song 'Wannabe' had been streamed over 100k times. The numbers were quite high for any new artist, and the reason behind it was the publicity efforts of his Music Label, which had a free hand from him to advertise Alana's works. And the Demiliore Media cell was helping a lot as well.
Keith listened to it and found the song very different from the one he remembered in his Dream, which was sung by a girl's band. However, it was still as catchy, and perhaps even better, and one thing was certain, was going to earn a lot of fans just over her first song.
He took out a paper and then penned down a letter to Alana, telling her how much he liked the song. He could have replied to her through the text, but he wanted to make her feel a little more appreciated. After he was done, he sealed the envelope and arranged for the letter to be delivered to her overnight.
Once it was all done, he rushed to his room to get ready for tonight's party and found Amelia and Qingyue chatting with each other in the corner.
He could see that the grey-eyed girl was a little distressed, and he did not have to ask her to understand that it was because of the latest scandal surrounding her father.
Keith nodded to her when she looked his way, and then entered the dressing room.
Half an hour later, he returned to the room, and both the ladies were still chatting with each other, but they were now joined by Kiara and Rebecca.
Perhaps, it was because of Rebecca's presence that Qingyue decided to mask her distress, or maybe, her presence had managed to distract her from ailing thoughts. Nonetheless, the grey-eyed girl seemed to be in a lot better mood. And Keith planted a kiss on her cheek as soon as he approached them, making her blush and sweetly smile at his affection.
"If you are all ready, shall we leave?" He asked after he greeted the rest of them with a kiss as well.
"Let's go!" His little sister excitedly said and then hugged his arm before leading him out of the room.
He did not check on their mothers since they were all going to come to the party later tonight. Everyone got into their cars, with Qingyue tagging along with him and Amelia, and Kiara and Rebecca took the other one with their Shadows.
To make it more fun, Rebecca and he engaged in a race, and to the dissatisfaction of Qingyue, he lost to the blonde girl.
"You deliberately did it. Didn't you?" She narrowed he eyes at him.
"Maybe." He playfully smiled. "See, they seem really happy." He chuckled when he caught Rebecca and Kiara waiting for them at the front of the Hotel.
"Hmph!" Qingyue folded her arms on her chest and looked away in dissatisfaction, but Amelia seemed indifferent to what had happened.
"I won! Now you owe me 10 bottles of the wine!" Rebecca smugly said as soon as he approached them.
"Okay." He shrugged and said, not really bothered about it, which dissatisfied the blonde girl a little instead of making her happy.
The Hotel Management seemed to have already been waiting for them. Since he owned this place, nothing was spared for tonight. And after greeting the staff, they were led to the Presidential Hall that was reserved for tonight.
As soon as they entered, the Cameras flashed and all the guests greeted him with resounding applause. It was not because it was his birthday that they did it. It was because of all the news that surrounded their Group today, and they were congratulating him, showcasing their enthusiasm about it.
Keith politely greeted everyone and accepted their kind words and well-wishes. He chatted a little with some family friends and other important people who were present here tonight. And finally, he greeted his classmates and other people of their generation.
He smiled lightly when he saw May and Nana managing everything tonight. His innocent little secretary was very professional tonight. And he promised himself to reward her for her hard work later in the form that she loved the most.
Keith and Amelia then took the opportunity to announce their development plans in the south of the city that she had earlier finalised.
And just right then, the Kurdish girl, in an elegant evening dress entered the Hall. Even though he had asked her to not fret over what to wear tonight, she did spend the money he had transferred to her to dress up well.
His eyes briefly met hers, but then he proceeded to explain the nature of their projects.
It was good publicity for their group that they were not just engaging in profit-oriented businesses but also felt responsible towards society. However, those who understood these games knew that his group was only doing it for good publicity and relaxation of taxes.
Ayesha knew it too that he was not opening an Orphanage just for her sake, but it was already more than anything she could ask for now. It did not matter why he was doing it. What mattered was that he fulfilled what he promised her. The orphans wouldn't care if the Orphanage they are in was made for some publicity. For them, it would be a new home, a safer haven.
She was, however, quite uneasy and puzzled by watching him surrounded by ridiculously gorgeous ladies. She knew that she was beautiful too, but compared to those ladies by his side, she still paled in comparison. To her, even his bodyguard seemed more beautiful than her. And for the first time in her life, she truly felt lacking in beauty.
It also made her question his intentions toward her. And then watching him politely, kindly, and freely chat with them made her a lot more uneasy in her heart.
It was not in jealousy or envy, but because of her conflicting feelings towards his contrasting natures.
Ayesha could see that each one of those ladies adored him. It was so clear on their faces and in their eyes. And she could not help it as her mind started losing its reservations against him.
If so many ladies trusted him, adored him, then, perhaps, she still had a lot to learn about him.
A lot of people approached her, intending to strike up a conversation or out of curiosity. Since everyone at the party was from a good background, they were curious to learn about her, whom they had never seen in their circle before. And of course, men were quite tempted by her perfect figure and the natural touch of seductiveness oozing out of her.
She was starting to get troubled by all the men finding reasons to approach her, but he finally came to her rescue, dragging a suffocatingly beautiful lady behind him to meet her.
"My Apologies, Miss Ayesha." He grabbed her hand and politely planted a kiss on her knuckles, and she could not help but get flustered at his action.
However, he gave her no time to make things awkward.
The rest of the people respectfully looked away after they saw the blush creep on her face when Keith greeted her. They understood that it would not be a wise decision to hold hopes about her.
"Meet my dearest friend, Qingyue." He introduced the lady by his side to her. "And Qingyue, meet Ayesha, a very talented Fashion Designer." He said, rousing Qingyue's interest since she needed someone with those capabilities in her company.
Keith then proceeded to tell Qingyue about all of Ayesha's expertise, and the Kurdish girl was a little scared to learn that he knew her better than she knew herself.
And Qingyue, who was a very smart girl, saw through his intentions.
"You want me to hire her, don't you?" She smiled at him and asked.
"I do. But only after you interview her and judge her potential."
"And yet you have only spoken well of her to me." She meaningfully asked.
He chuckled at her words and then shrugged.
"I wouldn't be a good lover if I can not speak well of my girl. Would I?" He bluntly said, taking them both by surprise.
Ayesha was shocked to the core that he openly admitted to having a relationship with her to the girl by his side, and Qingyue was surprised to learn that there was one more girl by his side that she did not know about.
"You want me to take care of your lover?" She narrowed her eyes at him, and her voice held a lot of dissatisfaction in it.
"Do you think I would make you do anything that would be harmful to you?" He asked back and then squeezed her hand. "Trust me on this. You need her expertise, but if you don't want her, I don't mind keeping her all to myself." He playfully said, and the grey-eyed girl frowned at his words.
Ayesha was sweating profusely as she had sensed a little hostility emerging in Qingyue's eyes for her. And just when she was thinking about how dumb of a man could the Heir of Demiliore Family be, the grey-eyed lady finally spoke to her.
"I will be expecting you at my office tomorrow morning at 9. Do bring your academic credentials, as well as evidence of your past working experiences. And since he speaks highly of your designing skills, I will need to see those designs myself." She lightly said with a smile.
"Yes, Ma'am!" And Ayesha nodded to her words rather flusteredly but soon schooled her expressions.
"Thank you!" He smiled and squeezed her hand, making Qingyue smile back at him.
"If she is as good as you say, then I should be the one to thank you." She said, making him lightly laugh at her words.
