Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 271: An Incident Occurs
After the amusement park date with Landon Ford, he returned Thea Shaw to the Sutton Family home that evening.
He himself returned to the company first.
Thea Shaw, upon reaching home, noticed a figure, and her expression became slightly nuanced. π§ππππΈπ¦π£πππ·ππ.π€π°π
Monica Cole was seated on the sofa at home.
Mrs. Sutton was chatting with Monica Cole, and upon seeing Thea Shawβs return, immediately signaled to her.
Thea Shaw, with her acting skills, brightened her expression and beamed: "Monicaβs here too?"
Monica gave a shy, bashful smile and nodded: "Yes, hello, Thea."
"Did you have fun outside today?"
Mrs. Sutton asked Thea Shaw with a smile, to which she nodded and said, "Not bad, Iβll head to my room to take a shower. It was hot and tiring playing all day."
"Alright then."
Thea Shaw returned to her room, suspecting that the Sutton Family had probably agreed to something earlier, hence Monica was allowed to come over tonight.
However, Mr. Sutton would likely not let Monica stay at the Sutton home.
She thought about this and, after showering, went downstairs to take a look.
Mrs. Sutton had already arranged a room for Monica, and as she was no longer in the living room, she saw Thea Shaw and immediately called her over to explain quietly: "Your dad agreed with her dad earlier; sheβs just staying over for the night since she had nowhere else to go. Your dadβs already arranged a place for her, and sheβll be settled tomorrow. She wonβt stay at the house."
Mrs. Sutton feared that Thea Shaw would misunderstand.
Thea Shaw nodded, her expression still stern: "Better not."
Ever since Thea Shaw stepped into the role of a psychic advisor, Mrs. Sutton regarded her much more highly. Now seeing that Thea Shaw had rare opinions about Monica, she agreed with Theaβs sentiments while also wondering what exactly was wrong with Monica.
When she chatted with that girl, she really couldnβt tell at all.
But precisely because she couldnβt detect anything, remembering Thea Shawβs words, Mrs. Sutton felt an even deeper chill in her heart.
If Lorraine York really was pushed down the stairs because Monica had intentionally fallen, then that girlβs cunning was indeed extraordinary.
If something had happened to her after the fall, she might not have survived. How could she be so daring?
What on earth was she gambling on?
But these things couldnβt be discussed with Thea Shaw at this moment because Monica soon came back downstairs.
Thea Shaw didnβt want to get involved in this matter, confident the Sutton Family would handle it. After a brief chat with Mrs. Sutton, she headed upstairs.
In a half-asleep state, an indistinct heaviness lingered in Thea Shawβs heart, but she remained too drowsy to rise.
It wasnβt until early the next morning that she woke up to find Monica sitting in the living room having breakfast, while Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were nowhere to be seen.
She checked the time, pondering why the two hadnβt appeared yet?
That couldnβt be right.
Monica smiled shyly at Thea Shaw: "Good morning, Thea."
Thea Shaw also smiled: "Morning."
Even if she didnβt like someone, those with their level of skill wouldnβt show it.
Not seeing Mrs. Sutton, she asked, "My parents havenβt woken up yet?"
"I donβt know."
Monica sipped her porridge in small sips, softly saying, "Aunt took a phone call and left early, and I havenβt seen Uncle."
Thea Shaw felt a bit puzzled and also had a sense of foreboding. She contemplated briefly and called Mrs. Sutton.
The phone rang for a considerable time before it connected, and she heard Mrs. Suttonβs somewhat weary voice: "Thea?"
Thea Shaw asked, "Mom, where did you go so early in the morning?"
Listening to the background on her side, it seemed a bit noisy.
