Void Cultivation-Chapter 229- Fishing for Foundation Establishment (3)
Grey opened his eyes and stared at the incoming tidal wave. His expression was calm and indifferent, as though nothing in the world could stir him. Internally, however, his blood surged.
He could clearly sense a terrifying pressure emanating from beneath the tidal wave.
That pressure belonged to the Foundation Establishment realm.
The sea creature rushing toward them was without question a Foundation Establishment realm existence.
Its aura was so overwhelming that countless sea creatures below the Foundation Establishment realm immediately fled in panic, abandoning the area without hesitation. The sea itself seemed to boil as the creature surged forward, enormous waves rising and collapsing chaotically as it swam into the bay.
When the sea creature was less than two thousand feet away from Grey, it suddenly paused.
It had sensed something.
In the next instant, Grey felt an intrusive gaze lock onto him.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he released his own Foundation Establishment aura in response. The moment the two auras collided, an even greater pressure descended upon the bay, causing the surrounding seawater to tremble violently.
Grey’s aura carried an air of cold indifference, calm and aloof, while the Foundation Establishment creature beneath the sea radiated a vicious, baleful presence that felt like it was soaked in blood.
Previously, when Grey had entered the bay, he had completely retracted his Foundation Establishment aura into his body. By doing so, it became exceedingly difficult for other Foundation Establishment creatures to detect him.
Unless the other party had already manifested a ball of Spirit Fire, it would never realize that Grey was capable of unleashing his Special Brilliance form.
Now, however, the sea creature lurking beneath the pitch-black waters clearly knew that Grey had already manifested his first ball of Spirit Fire.
Yet... it showed no fear.
Instead, it brazenly probed him with its divine sense while releasing an even more oppressive baleful aura.
With a cold snort, Grey stood up and flew off his magic ship. His expression hardened as he hovered above the sea, gazing down coldly at the creature lurking below.
Earlier, he had been unable to identify the sea creature due to the pitch-black water and his deliberate restraint in spreading his divine sense too far. But now, with a higher vantage point and his divine sense fully extended, everything beneath the surface was revealed.
It was a mosasaur.
The mosasaur possessed rows of jagged, blade-like teeth, and its massive eyes gleamed with clear intelligence. When it noticed Grey staring down at it, the creature let out a deep, thunderous roar underwater before rising toward the surface.
In the next moment, the mosasaur burst from the sea.
Grey finally saw the creature in its full, terrifying glory.
Its massive body stretched over a thousand feet long, its scales riddled with scars that had yet to fully heal. Each scar told a story of brutal combat, and together they formed a chilling testament to its ferocity.
Even so, the killing aura it emitted alone was enough to frighten other creatures of the same realm into submission.
’A Baleful Mosasaur!’
Grey inwardly exclaimed.
Within the Sky Mist Sect, this was a creature that inspired both fear and reverence among cultivators of the third sequence.
Any cultivator who owned a magic ship and dared to venture out to sea would have heard of the mosasaur.
Throughout the entire Dead Sea, it was the one creature that even Foundation Establishment experts feared, not because it was invincible, but because it was utterly ruthless.
A mosasaur at the Initial Foundation Establishment stage could slaughter cultivators at the Middle stages. One at the Middle stages could severely injure or even kill Late-stage Foundation Establishment experts. As for a Late-stage mosasaur, it could even threaten cultivators in the next realm.
Their attacks were lethally precise, and once they targeted an enemy, they would not stop until one side was dead.
Because of this, Foundation Establishment cultivators who encountered mosasaurs were often forced to retreat. The most terrifying part was that a mosasaur that had not even unlocked its Special Brilliance form could still contend against cultivators who had. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Mosasaurs also harbored an intense hatred toward magic ships. The moment one was spotted, they would attack relentlessly, refusing to retreat until the ship was destroyed and the cultivator slain.
That was why they were both feared and respected.
With most cultivators in the Dead Sea residing in the Foundation Establishment realm, mosasaurs were a living nightmare.
Qi Accumulation realm cultivators, however, were usually ignored, unless they foolishly provoked one.
The moment Grey’s gaze met the mosasaur’s, the creature roared furiously before launching its attack.
Several spikes made entirely of compressed seawater shot toward Grey.
They were unimaginably fast, appearing before him in an instant. One spike nearly pierced his body, and he only managed to avoid it through sheer instinct and lightning-fast reaction.
Before he could even catch his breath, dozens more water spikes followed.
Grey activated his extreme speed and narrowly dodged each one, his figure blurring through the air. However, before he could counterattack, a pitch-black wall of seawater suddenly rose before him.
The wall was over a thousand feet tall and stretched across an enormous area.
Within the wall, Grey caught sight of a faint silhouette rapidly approaching.
Before he could fully discern what it was, the silhouette burst forward.
The mosasaur emerged from the water wall.
Its massive jaws were wide open, rows of terrifying teeth gleaming as it lunged toward Grey, intent on tearing him apart.
"Very strong..." Grey muttered in a low voice.
At that moment, a faint purple light flashed through his eyes.
A purple-tinged phantom materialized in front of him mid-air.
The phantom possessed long, flowing purple hair that obscured its face, and its fingers were elongated and claw-like, exuding an eerie and sinister presence.
The instant the phantom appeared, the mosasaur bit down toward Grey.
That was when the phantom moved.
Its long arms swung forward in what appeared to be a slow, almost lazy motion.
A deafening bang echoed through the sky.
The phantom was violently flung several meters away, while the mosasaur was blasted backward and sent crashing into the sea below.
Grey was also affected by the collision and was thrown backward. However, his expression was filled with disbelief.
When the mosasaur slammed into the sea, the towering water wall trembled violently.
Suppressing the shock in his heart, Grey manifested a purple sword in his hand.
At the same time, a brilliant purple light shone above his head as a long purple sword, several feet in length, materialized in the air.
The sword radiated tyrannical dominance, as if it ruled all beneath the heavens, yet it also carried an inexplicable aura of mystery.
The moment the sword appeared, Grey’s aura transformed.
He now gave off the presence of a mysterious young expert, cold and unfathomable.
From the sword above his head, a purple-robed hand gripping the blade began to emerge, as though a figure was on the verge of fully manifesting.
Grey did not wait.
He slashed toward the wall of water.
At the same time, numerous sea creatures burst from within the collapsing wall and rushed toward him, making it seem as though the entire sea had exploded.
Grey’s sword slash tore through them, instantly killing many of the creatures. The survivors, however, continued charging forward without fear.
A massive sword scar split the black water wall before it finally collapsed back into the sea.
From within the depths, the mosasaur let out an ear-piercing roar before leaping out once more.
A terrifying power erupted from within its body.
It was as if a heavenly stove had ignited inside the mosasaur, circulating vast amounts of spirit power throughout its massive form. Its aura surged explosively.
Ferocity and madness filled its eyes.
The mosasaur had activated its Special Brilliance form.
Grey’s pupils shrank sharply.
The pressure it emitted felt as though he were facing a terrifying Foundation Establishment expert who possessed two balls of Spirit Fire.
The might was so overwhelming that his eyes burned just from looking at it.
If not for the fact that he himself had manifested a ball of Spirit Fire, he felt that merely gazing upon the mosasaur would have been a grave sin.
’As expected... mosasaurs truly rule the sea.’
Grey’s fighting spirit surged.
’But I won’t be outdone.’
He activated his own Special Brilliance form.
All of his spirit perforations began circulating spirit power in unison, nourishing his body. In the next moment, a single, radiant ball of Spirit Fire appeared.
It blazed with piercing brilliance.
The sensation of a great stove burning within his body spread rapidly, granting him immense power.
A sharp glint appeared in Grey’s eyes.
But it was not madness.
Nor ferocity.
It was cold, aloof calmness, absolute, and terrifyingly composed.
Grey shot forward toward the sea, charging directly at the mosasaur. The purple phantom reappeared beside him, striking down incoming sea creatures with ruthless efficiency.
In the blink of an eye, Grey clashed head-on with the Baleful Mosasaur.
