VRMMO: World's First Glyphborne-Chapter 56: Friendship and Loyalty
It took a few minutes, but eventually they found a group of twenty odd players that they could slip into. It was run by some famous streamer that Belladonna had never heard of, but considering the only streamers she knew where the ones she had killed in the game and the one she had watched last night, that didn’t say much.
They really only got accepted because they referred to their classes as ’Monk’ and ’Mage’. So long as they knew the truth of how awesome their classes were, it didn’t matter what the rest of the people thought. There was also the fact that the streamer was ’being nice’ and streaming himself carrying new players through the dungeon, since it was repeatable.
It was mostly for publicity, but it didn’t matter to the two of them. The rag tag group of rejects and solos would have to do.
While their meal train... I mean, party of absolute equals that they were going to work perfectly alongside, was busy searching for the final healers to shore up their numbers, Belladonna spotted a small Brownie statue next to the Dungeon entrance, which was a set of giant imposing metal doors that grew out of the side of a mountain.
The statue was slightly different, with the Brownie sitting cross legged with the offering plate sitting in front of him and his arms wide spread like he was some kind of merchant hawking his wares. But she could still recognise those little gremlins anywhere.
"Come on, I wanna show you something neat." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Belladonna grabbed Vestra’s hand, pulling her out of the gathered crowd and practically dragged her over to the statue. The girl stuttered a few protests as she staggered behind, but between her natural anxiety and Belladonna’s strength, she had no chance of escaping.
A few members of the group noticed their activities, and a couple laughed them off as just useless girls. One of the guys, a druid dressed in a robe that looked like it was made out of the forest floor, called out to them with a worried look on his face.
"Uh, girls. You should come back here, at least for now. They’re sorting out Gravekeepers... You really shouldn’t miss this!"
Even if his voice was a little feeble it reached the girls, but while Vestra muttered anxiously to her new friend, Belladonna just waved it off and tried to get her to focus on what she was showing her.
The Druid sighed when he saw them ignoring him. One of the other members of the group nudged him and scoffed dismissively,
"Leave them man. If they wanna die and lose all their gear because they want to look at pretty flowers or whatever, then let them. Can’t believe they’re even allowing them to run with us anyways."
The Druid glanced at the warrior, before nodding softly. Yet by the time it came his turn to sort out his deal with the Gravekeeper, he couldn’t help but glance over his shoulder again. With another sigh, he gestured to the pair as he held out the money to the Gravekeeper.
"I’ll pay for the two of them as well, okay?"
"Fine by me." The Gravekeeper replied with a sleazy smile, eagerly taking the money and glancing over at the girls to get a look at them, although his ’professional’ gaze quickly turned a little lecherous.
Perhaps, when they died, he could just say that he did it out of the kindness of his heart and get some ’repayment’ from them instead of this wimp. The Gravekeeper laughed softly to himself, already loving his plan, while the Druid walked away to rejoin the group once more.

"Please collect my corpse and belongings in the event of my death in this trail, and return them to me fully and in the same condition immediately upon my next visit to this shrine."
Belladonna muttered the carefully crafted prayer, before placing a pre-prepared parcel of food onto the plate. Vestra watched, first in confusion, but quickly changed to shock as the parcel simply vanished in front of her eyes.
"See? Easy as that." Belladonna said with a smug, shark-toothed smirk, "Cheaper than a Gravekeeper and much more reliable too. Just repeat it exactly as I said, and then place down the offering."
Vestra took Belladonna’s food parcel with a hint of apprehension, before doing exactly as she instructed. She recited the script in her head first, before she repeated the words exactly as she had heard them and then placed the parcel down.
Just like before, it vanished before her very eyes, although she could have sworn that she heard something burp when it disappeared.
"I can’t believe it’s so easy... Wait, can you use these things for logging out too?" Her head whipped to Belladonna, who just smirked wider and nodded.
Vestra’s eyes practically sparkled as she looked at Belladonna like a gift from the gods. Face practically radiated divine light in her eyes, as she understood the depth of what she had been taught here.
So much money saved on Gravekeepers, so much worry and hassle saved when it came to logging out. She had heard so many horror stories of people being found and stolen from when they were logged out, that people often kept their belongings separate from their bodies when logging out.
But now... She didn’t have to worry about that at all. How wasn’t this knowledge spread amongst the players more?! It was revolutionary!
A part of her wanted to post about it, to let everyone know and to stop so many people having issues with the game so that they could enjoy it together more. But as she looked at her savour, that had taught her this as a friend simply out of the kindness of her heart, Vestra decided to keep this secret.
If it was going to help people, then this wonderful new friend of hers deserved the help more than anyone, and she was going to make sure she got it.
