Chapter 1101: Chapter 426: Have I Become a Daoist?

Zhou Xuan asked for the list of the "Human Pill Factory," but Fish Bodhisattva corrected his wording.

"Mystic Master, we never call the place for alchemy a factory, but rather a cave."

Fish Bodhisattva pointed to the Mahayana Temple and said, "Take our place for example, we call it—Yunlu Cave. Of course, we are orthodox alchemists and name it a cave, embodying the elegance and sentiment of following the ancient ways and Buddhism,

but some unorthodox alchemists can’t call theirs a ’cave.’ We call theirs a—Fire Pit."

Zhou Xuan nearly burst into laughter. These "human pill vendors," each one of them doing such unscrupulous business, dealing in human lives, yet they distinguish between orthodox and unorthodox?

"What is a Fire Pit then?"

Zhou Xuan asked.

Fish Bodhisattva pointed towards the top of the tower and said, "Grand Master, have you ever heard of the Zoroastrianism?"

"Of course, I’ve killed quite a few."

During the Mingjiang Prefecture Chess Match period, Zoroastrianism also sent people to attack Mingjiang. However, apart from the Zoroastrian Fire Order, the disciples they sent were not formidable, just small fry.

Another major force during the attack from Zoroastrianism was the conscripted "Star Covering," who were also slain by Zhou Xuan along with Mu Hua Mirror.

"The people of Zoroastrianism are extremely vicious. They have monopolized the largest share of human pills, and their alchemy is much less gentle than ours."

A drug vendor using human lives for alchemy, claiming to be gentle. To what extent are those Zoroastrianism people savage?

"They use live humans for alchemy," said Fish Bodhisattva.

"Haven’t you also used live humans for alchemy?"

Zhou Xuan said.

"That’s different."

Fish Bodhisattva said, "When I use live humans for alchemy, I just see them as medicinal ingredients, trick them to come over and just toss them into the furnace. There’s not much rigmarole,

but those people, after capturing someone, they torture them first. There are many methods of torture, like extracting tendons and removing bones, severing limbs and gouging flesh..."

"That sounds quite savage," Zhou Xuan said.

"Those are their gentlest methods."

"..." Zhou Xuan squinted his eyes as if scalded by searing steam.

Even using such methods, it’s supposedly still their gentlest?

"A person, losing a head leaves a scar no bigger than a bowl. What of it? But as long as a person has family and loves..."

Zhou Xuan raised his hand, signaling Fish Bodhisattva to stop, having understood already that torturing someone’s loved ones before their eyes is more tormenting than killing them.

The Zoroastrian livestock are skilled at torture.

Zhou Xuan no longer wishes to know the specific torture methods, only why such torture is necessary for making a human pill?

Do they take pleasure in torturing, or is there some other purpose in alchemy?

Fish Bodhisattva said, "To them, torturing people is certainly a kind of pleasure. Those people have no normal emotions, very insane, very perverse,

but more importantly, their alchemy doesn’t rely on human blood, flesh, spirit, or bone."

"If not these, then what?" Zhou Xuan asked.

Fish Bodhisattva solemnly elaborated, "They rely on human seven emotions and six desires, refining them into elixirs. These elixirs, though severely damaging after consumption, have an extremely domineering effect on boosting combat power temporarily, as well as enhancing the Incense Fire Level."

"Using the seven emotions and six desires for alchemy?"

The more Zhou Xuan listened, the more he felt this method of alchemy seemed perfectly tailored for him.

In Jing Country, there are nine laws—among them, the most challenging to comprehend is the "Law of Destiny."

And the first realm of this law allows Zhou Xuan to convert the human world’s seven emotions and six desires into a tangible form.

King Xishan lacked yang energy, so Zhou Xuan even gifted him a "Joyful Doll," crafted from the laughter and joy of the people in Mingjiang Prefecture.

"So, where is the Zoroastrian Fire Pit?" Zhou Xuan promised straight away: "Once I know its location, and after resolving the affairs in Mingjiang Prefecture, I’ll travel directly to smash their Fire Pit."

"Supposedly, within the nine prefectures of Jing Country, there should be a Zoroastrian Fire Pit in each, but, well, places too far away I’m not clear about. I only know there was a small Fire Pit in Mingjiang Prefecture, which got destroyed after the Ancient Tree Golden Bell in Mingjiang Prefecture was restored."

Zhou Xuan had experienced this firsthand, he had then repaired the Ancient Tree Golden Bell in Mingjiang Prefecture, releasing three Bell Slaves with the lingering spirits of nine Incenses.

One Bell Slave eradicated a small faction of the Fox Clan attempting to comprehend the "Gorge True Scripture."

One Bell Slave taught Zhou Xuan "Shifting Form."

Another Bell Slave, single-handedly, destroyed a Zoroastrianism hideout.

Thinking back now, that Zoroastrian hideout was precisely the Fire Pit Fish Bodhisattva spoke of.

"That wasteful golden bell, had valuable techniques and didn’t think to collect, wiped them out whole."

If back then, the golden bell first retained the Zoroastrian alchemical methods, upon returning to Mingjiang Prefecture, he could start producing "human pills."

Then Fish Bodhisattva added, "Besides Mingjiang Prefecture, there’s also one in Jingchuan Prefecture, southwest of the Prefecture City, called the ’Rebirth Fire Pit,’

and in Yellow Field Prefecture there’s another Fire Pit—but even I don’t know its precise location, though it’s the largest among the three prefectures."

"There’s a location in Yellow Field Prefecture you don’t know?"

Zhou Xuan was somewhat surprised. Given Fish Bodhisattva’s years of entrenched presence in Yellow Field Prefecture, deeply exploring the local culture and powers, yet he doesn’t know a location of a Fire Pit within the prefecture.

"Mystic Master, here’s how it is, let me tell you the story."
