Chapter 400: Chapter 222 Day Trip, Night Travel_3

"Who are you?"

"Oh, I’m a scholar from the Bone Elder Association. My surname is Fu, and my given name is Ding."

"Mr. Fu."

"In your presence, I wouldn’t dare call myself a teacher. Just call me Xiao Fu." Fu Ding pointed at the car outside and said, "Young Master, the Blood Well human brain is in the car. I’ll have them unload it now."

"Oh, you’re here to deliver the Blood Well human brain? Go ahead, unload it. And while you’re at it, help me carry the human brain to the second floor."

The first floor was a storefront for doing business. Placing a Blood Well human brain there—wouldn’t it terrify the customers?

The Blood Well human brain consisted of the brains of four Blood Well Spirits.

"Got it."

Fu Ding strolled to the door and shouted at the people on the truck, "Unload the car and carry the Blood Well human brain to the second floor."

The truck’s door opened,

and down came six or seven robust Bone Elder men. They took a massive oak box off the truck. Then, the men grabbed some crowbars and got to work on the box.

The massive oak box opened, revealing yet another lead box within. Fu Ding used a key to unlock it.

"A big box nested inside a smaller one? Are you playing with nesting dolls here?"

Zhou Xuan couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of it.

"Young Master, the perception capabilities of the Blood Well human brain are too strong. To transport it, we must layer seal after seal on its perception. Otherwise, there’s a risk that the human brain might unintentionally cause perception contamination to innocent civilians."

Zhou Xuan found this explanation reasonable,

as the anguished cries erupting from the Blood Well human brain’s despair and terror could terrify even the feet of the Liu God. Its perception capabilities were extraordinary.

"Go ahead, unpack it. I’ll wait." Zhou Xuan lit a cigarette, took two puffs, and turned his head slightly to glance at Zhao Wuya. "Wuya—weren’t you going to sleep? Why are you just standing there? Are you guarding my Blood Well human brain?"

"I’m just here to see the commotion." Zhao Wuya squeezed out five words.

Meanwhile, Yun Ziliang wasn’t even listening to music anymore. He squatted by the door with a teapot in hand, watching as the Bone Elder Association unloaded the boxes.

Zhou Xuan: "..."

Like master, like disciple. Apparently, the entire Dragon Seeking lineage was like nosy village elders—always eager to watch any ruckus at the slightest bit of movement.

There were six layers sealing the Blood Well human brain. The Bone Elders worked tirelessly before finally revealing the water tank containing the brains.

"Carry it to the second floor for the Young Master." After issuing this command, Fu Ding smiled at Zhou Xuan and said, "Young Master, the water tank contains formalin solution. The human brains need regular solution replacement. Going forward, we’ll visit periodically to help you change it."

"No need to go through all that trouble. Just write down the formula for me, and I’ll contact a pharmaceutical factory to prepare it myself."

Zhou Xuan figured that with all the capabilities of the Bone Elder Association, they should do some proper work. Driving around every day just to refresh the solution in his water tank seemed like a waste of societal resources.

Besides, weren’t professional factory workers better suited for changing solutions than the Bone Elders?

"The Young Master truly cares about us."

Fu Ding took out a notebook to write the formula for Zhou Xuan when, all of a sudden, a sharp wailing sound came from inside the store.

The glass and doors of the shop trembled in sync with the noise, creating a terrifying scene.

"Oh no."

Fu Ding immediately recognized the sound as coming from the Blood Well human brain. He hurried into the building.

As soon as he stepped inside, he saw the four brains thrashing violently in the water tank. As they moved, they emitted piercing cries that resembled the wails of infants.

The Bone Elders carrying the tank all clutched their ears, their faces contorted in pain.

"What’s going on? Why did the human brains suddenly become reactive?" Fu Ding was visibly frightened by the sound and didn’t dare to step further into the room.

In his panic, a broad hand pressed down on his shoulder. "Maybe the brains don’t like going to the second floor. It’s no big deal."

Fu Ding turned around and saw Zhou Xuan standing behind him. Then, to his amazement, Zhou Xuan strode confidently toward the water tank.

"Young Master, those brains are highly terri... terri... Huh? So obedient?"

Fu Ding watched as Zhou Xuan placed his hand on the side of the water tank. The brains suddenly became docile, gently pressing against the tank wall as if wanting to touch Zhou Xuan’s hand.

Now they were quiet, serene, and free of any violent energy.

"Human brains, you’ve returned home. The well is waiting for you." Zhou Xuan murmured softly before turning to Fu Ding and saying, "Thank you for your trouble, Mr. Fu. Leave the tank here."

Snapping out of his stupor, Fu Ding quickly responded, "Thank you, Young Master. Thank you, Young Master."

Without delay, Fu Ding hurriedly led the other Bone Elders back onto the truck. After saying their goodbyes to Zhou Xuan once more, they left East Market Street.

On the truck, Fu Ding replayed the earlier scene in his mind and commented to the companion beside him, "It doesn’t make sense. Once the Blood Well human brain enters a reactive state, only someone like Mr. Li, an incense master of the highest order, could forcibly calm them down."

"Even Mr. Li would have to spend hours doing so. Yet the Young Master merely touched the water tank, and they immediately quieted! How peculiar."

"Mr. Fu, it’s not so strange. Haven’t you been hearing rumors lately? Even painters and music masters treat the Young Master as an honored guest. For someone like him, what can’t he accomplish?"

"True... that’s true..."

...

After Fu Ding and his group left, Zhou Xuan turned to Zhao Wuya and asked, "Wuya, are you going back to sleep or staying here to watch this spectacle?"

"Heh, someone like me... Of course, I’ll stay to watch the spectacle."

Zhao Wuya, unashamed, slammed the shop door shut with a bang and stayed inside.

Zhou Xuan began pacing around the water tank.

After circling it two or three times, the four brains inside abruptly began to tremble. The vibrations rippled through the water at an astonishing frequency, causing the liquid to leap and dance.

It seemed as though they were emitting an ultra-high-frequency sound wave imperceptible to the human ear.

The sound waves grew increasingly intense, and the water in the tank started bubbling wildly as if it were boiling.

"Pop!"
