Dale Heide fell off his warhorse due to Egil's great strength, tumbling awkwardly to the ground.

"Ugh~" The Duke himself had just thought to get up and fight again, but he felt a chill from his back to his chest, followed by a sweet taste in his throat, and a sharp pain in his chest, with blood flowing profusely from his mouth.

Egil's left-hand Hell Battleaxe Gam's axe tip pierced the Duke's right chest, and blood splattered.

Am I going to die here? Dale Heide's vision began to blur, but his mind became increasingly clear; this was the most painful time for the Duke. He watched the knights still struggling in battle, and his legitimate son's desperate cries.

"The Duke is dead! The Duke is dead!" The cries echoed on the battlefield, the peasants began to flee, and the knights started to waver.

Sirulf's battle flag had already been chopped down by Egil, tainted with the Duke's blood, and the last hope was extinguished.

No!

I cannot die here! Dale Heide used his last bit of strength to grab the axe tip penetrating his body.

"Hmm?" Egil intended to pull out the left-hand Hell Battleaxe Gam from Dale Heide's body and then use the right-hand War Axe Gom to deliver the fatal blow to the Duke, but he found his movements were slightly hindered.

It was precisely this hindrance that saved Dale Heide's life.

"For the Lady!" Reinforcements arrived; Holy Grail Knight Commander Jules and three Holy Grail Knights came to support from the side, led by Jules, whose eyes burned with the Goddess's wrath, with three Holy Grail Knights behind him; the sharp swords and cavalry lances, engulfed in golden flames, approached Egil's face and head.

"Finally, some worthy opponents." Egil, seeing this, abandoned the attempt to kill Dale Heide, pulled out the axe from the Duke's body, and raised his axe to block. Before him, Jules and the three Holy Grail Knights launched attacks which he deflected entirely; Khorne's Divine Chosen Champion swung his battleaxe, engaged in numerous clashes with Jules, and the intersection of two-handed swords and ax blades sparked fiercely, neither gaining the upper hand. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

The King of the Skalings looked up and realized he was surrounded; Chaos Champion Yar, Egil's nephew, was cut down by Jules's two sword strikes, and the Crimson Guard suffered heavy casualties from the Holy Grail Knights.

Egil wanted to try again to kill Dale Heide, but Jules wouldn't give him the opportunity. The Holy Grail Knight Commander's sharp sword stabbed fiercely into the Chaos Steel Bull's head, causing the Chaos Steel Bull to roar in pain and run off the battlefield with Egil.

"Heh, I'll remember your head for now; I'll return to claim it sooner or later." Unable to control the Chaos Steel Bull, Egil saw Sirulf's battle flag had fallen, knew his goal was achieved, and didn't force himself to attempt to kill Dale Heide again.

Before departing, Egil glanced with interest at Holy Grail Knight Commander Jules, then raised his battleaxe, and the axe blade blessed by the Blood God drew an arc.

"Slay!"

A Holy Grail Knight who tried to stop him left was chopped in two on the spot; the King of the Skalings roared with bloodthirsty fury, then charged out of the Knights' encirclement, and the Crimson Guard, seeing this, abandoned their attack and retreated with Egil. The remaining Knights watched the bisected Holy Grail Knight, not daring to pursue.

"The Duke is not dead!" Jules immediately ordered the Knights not to pursue Egil and then had his men raise his Holy Grail Knight flag: "The Duke is not dead! The Holy Grail bears witness!"

Only then did the Knight Army's morale stabilize somewhat.

"Ugh~" Dale Heide was rescued by Jules; the Duke of Leonais' gaze was somewhat unfocused: "Ooh~ thanks to the Lady."

"Your Grace! This war cannot continue! We must retreat and then intercept them at Leonais Castle!" Jules shouted in Dale Heide's ear: "If we keep fighting, defeat is inevitable! You cannot fall here, or we will lose the hope of ultimate victory!"

Dale Heide's gaze wandered to the distance, where a Chaos Mammoth was slowly falling—that was the last Chaos Mammoth of the Barbarian Army; the knights, aided by two more Holy Grail Knights and reserve knights, were breaking through the siege.

Although, compared to the twelve thousand heavy cavalry at the start of the battle, the Knight Army's heavy cavalry was now less than eight thousand, and the knights were less than four thousand, if they could retreat to Leonais's strong walls, they might have a chance to defeat the Barbarian Army.

"Alright, Jules, thank you for your assistance; you have given us a second chance, but who will cover the rear?" Dale Heide breathed heavily, feeling the taste of rust in his mouth.

"I'll cover the rear!" Holy Grail Knight Eisen was covered in blood; he brought over a hundred knights who broke through the siege: "Go quickly!"

Dale Heide stared at Holy Grail Knight Eisen for three seconds, seeming to memorize his appearance forever, then silently nodded.

"Retreat! Retreat!"

"The war is lost! We retreat to the Leonais Castle!"

"Retreat!!!"
