Chapter 252: First Clash

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

The characteristics of a person differed widely from person to person, and it’s nearly impossible to find two exact same people; at best, you could find two people who were similar. Some may be prompt in action, but others prefer going slow. Some may love challenges, but others prefer peace. No one person could be solely judged by a right versus wrong rubric.

The Dragon Knight following far behind was very sinister indeed. He followed the group from afar despite knowing Murphy’s injuries.

After an unknown amount of time, a sparse range of forests had already become visible under view, as Murphy’s speed began to suddenly slow. He held his breath for a long while, but he had finally reached his limits; he couldn’t even maintain his own balance, not to mention flight. While Blanche screamed at the top of her lungs, Murphy crashed towards the forest in vain.

Tree after tree crumbled to the ground as Murphy neared ground level. Finally, Murphy rolled onto the ground in an extremely inelegant position. Fortunately, most of the occupants were high-level professionals, who jumped off Murphy’s back in droves. Han Jin caught Lola’s substitute just in time, and landed steadily on the ground within the blink of an eye.

When he hit the ground, Murphy began rolling to and fro until he was able get back onto his stomach. At this point, he was too exhausted to speak, his chest was vibrating violently, and the airflow from his mouth was like wave after wave of rhymed wind, rushing through the forest. Broken branches and leaves were torn apart and blown afar like raindrops.

“Murphy!” Blanche was thrown into a frenzy as she dashed towards Murphy. At this point, she finally caught a glimpse of the Demon Annihilator arrow puncturing deep into his stomach. The arrow was seven or eight meters in length, but there was only one meter left visible! It was nearly unimaginable that Murphy managed to carry the group such a distance with such grave injuries!

“I…” Murphy struggled to open his mouth, “I can’t fly anymore, you must go!”

“No! I forced you here, we should all move together!” Blanche screamed.

“Li… Little fool.” Murphy smiled, his voice echoed like thunder roaring between the sky and the ground. “Gaga… just go, don’t make my sacrifice pointless, go!”

Louise grabbed Blanche with full force, yelling, “Blanche, chill a bit, we can’t help even if we stay!”

“Move, move!” Murphy’s pupils suddenly changed in color; originally, they were orange-yellow, however, they now turned to a deep red.

“Don’t waste your time, when they arrive, nobody will be able to leave!” Moments later, Murphy stumbled a few steps and jumped back into the sky, flying straight towards the black dot from afar.

“Panven!” Louise screamed as she held Blanche. Panven immediately began chanting a spell.

“Little Blanche, you owe me this one!” Before the release of the Spacial Teleportation Magic, each person could clearly recognize Murphy’s distant screams, “I know things are gonna be bad, I know things are gonna be f**king bad…”

Blanche struggled, but Louise used all her force to keep her from escaping. In the next moment, Panven released the magic, and the group quickly disappeared away.

Panven dared not to breathe; he continued to chant spell after spell. He was already performing above par today, releasing four Spatial Teleportation Magic spells in a row. He was on the verge of collapse when he sat down with his magic wand.

“Move!” Louise grabbed Blanche in one hand and dragged Panven with the other, staggering due to the depletion of her strength, continuing into the forest. Her power was limited, and controlling Blanche was forcing her to her limits. Now that she had Panven to carry, Blanche was nearly able to escape her grasp. Louise quickly shouted in a rush, “Blanche, please chill! Why do you want to return? We need to go to Moonlight City and seek revenge for Murphy!”

Han Jin raised his hand and released a Charm of Spirit Refreshment. The charm did not impact magical power, but it did compensate for physical strength. Panven could feel the immediate relief, as he turned back to look at Han Jin. In a normal circumstance, Panven’s first reaction would be to ask about the magic used, but in such a crisis, there was no time for such inquiries. Suddenly he broke away from Louise’s control and grabbed Blanche’s left hand, running forward with Louise, dragging Blanche ahead.

After running a few steps, Panven noticed that Han Jin was standing still. He then turned back and yelled: “Raphael, let’s go!”

“I will stay and get their attention.” Han Jin said loudly. He then applied two more charms, both on Louise, “Rest assured, I will find you guys again.”

Like Panven, Louise could sense her sudden increase in physical strength, as though it was an infinite increase. She didn’t want to disagree; she looked at Han Jin, then nodded and continued into the forest.

Han Jin armed his sword and continued in the opposite direction. Neither Panven nor Louise managed to catch a glimpse; a sense of regret journeyed through their faces.

Soon after, Han Jin selected a target location. He then floated midair, rapidly going through the spells. Charm after charm was deployed and vanished into the air with no signs. Han Jin then released a Fire Concentration Spell. Similar to a trap, it could be triggered or artificially released.

Despite being repeatedly instructed by Jeddes that direct fights with Nicholas’ high-level professionals should be avoided at all costs; Han Jin decided that he didn’t want to hide like a rat, and he wanted to learn the difference in their speeds.

Moments later, Raphael tossed down nine glasses, covering the intended warzone. He did not know if the Nine Grids Magic Light Array would be able to trap the Dragon Knight, but he would certainly not be able to identify precise directions by the time he broke out.

After a short while, a little black dot showed up in the sky. Han Jin immediately sighed; if the dragon night followed up, it meant that Murphy was surely dead.

The size of the black dot increased, and a great power covered the horizon. The surrounding sounds of the birds ceased, while the whole forest moved without wind. However, Raphael had applied the Art of Spiritual Possession on himself. The Art of Spiritual Possession was all about condescendence and negligence, fighting without fear in disregard of the enemy. The ‘Power of Dragon’ that was horrifying just by its name alone would have no effects on Han Jin whatsoever.

The dragon knight also noticed Han Jin and sensed his hostility, abruptly changing its direction, descending towards the ground.

It was the first time Han Jin had a chance to observe an Upper Class Gold Dragon from all directions. It was far less stunning from the Perspective Eyes than from his own eyes; although the Upper Class Gold Dragon was quite close to Murphy in length, the difference in speed was huge! The Upper Class Gold Dragon was covered in golden scales, including its wings. Ambilight lights continuously flowed around its scales, dazzling and robust, elegant and majestic, with each curve filled with the beauty of movement. Han Jin assumed that dragons were all monsters like Murphy, but he only realized the potential beauty of a giant dragon when he saw it up close.

Raphael slowly raised his hand, suddenly shouting, “Explode!”

Dozens of brilliant fireballs suddenly appeared in midair. The size of the Upper Level Gold Dragon meant that every bit of the Fire Concentration Spell was used, a perfect hit.

Before Han Jin had a chance to attack, the flowing light around the gold dragon began circling round and round. However, in the exploding fire, the rate of the movement drastically increased, like a pond being stirred by a rock. In the next moment, the Upper Class Gold Dragon smashed through without any injuries and continued towards Han Jin.

Han Jin was stunned. He was not releasing regular fire; it was the Three True Fire, capable of burning anything in the world! Even ghosts would suffer severe injuries from the flames. For Practitioners, they could only stir the Three True Fire in advance or use water characteristic magics; directly rushing through without protection was unimaginable!

As the gold dragon approached, Han Jin hesitated; he refused to admit defeat and considered releasing other spells. However, he soonly chose the careful approach, backing behind the trees, shouting, “Nine Grids Magic Light, open!”

Nine mirrors instantly shot out uniformly, sending light beams into the sky. Moments later, Han Jin’s body disappeared underground.

It was apparent by Murphy’s body that he was indeed dead. Murphy’s neck suffered an extremely deep puncture, with scratches on his body with varying lengths, but these wounds alone were insufficiently lethal. The gold dragon’s breath melted his scales and carbonized his skin and flesh, but these wounds did not prevent Murphy from continued combat either. However, the impact to his neck had crushed his neck bones, and no dragons could handle such injuries.

In fact, by daring to oppose an Upper Class Gold Dragon, Murphy was not just arrogant; he was insane!

Several knights were busy on Murphy’s body. Below, a kid around the age of ten stood on horseback, observing Murphy’s pupils with much curiosity on his face. Maybe it was the unexpected lethal injuries, or maybe it was just unwillingness, Murphy’s pupils did not shut, and the kid could see his own reflection.

“So big…” the kid exclaimed. Murphy’s pupils were indeed large; they were at least larger than the kid.

“Be quick!” The kid yelled, “Get me the dragon crystal, then tear all dragon scales off!”

“Young master, I am afraid…” One of the knights showed his head timidly. “Lord Filagon would be mad if he saw us treat dragons like this.”

“So what?” The kid pouted, “Why pretend when it’s dead? It’s disgusting! Do what you want, and ask Filagon to come to me if he’s not pleased.”

“Young master, he certainly wouldn’t come looking for you, but we…” The knight made a wry smile.

“Who dares to hurt my men?” The kid opened up his eyes. “Stop jibber-jabbing, and start working! Either you will tear its skin, or I will tear your skin!”

The knights exchanged glances at once. They knew that the young master would actually go through with his words. Soon, a huge dragon crystal was dug out of Murphy’s body. One of the knights jumped off Murphy with it, and the others followed suit.

“Wow… that’s huge?” The kid was stunned.

It was a crystal that would make Han Jin feel despair; his goal was to extract the energy by eating the crystal, but he couldn’t eat something the size of a face pot….
