Chapter 190: Chapter 189: Preparing to Strike Back

The makeup artist sighed as she observed Bella, unsure if Bella could truly let go, and said, "Close your eyes, I’ll apply the egg first."

Bella obediently closed her eyes.

She had no family and no support now; she could only rely on herself.

Bella finished her makeup and headed out, just as she ran into Archer Quinn at the door.

"Senior Quinn, isn’t your schedule packed with scenes this morning? Why did you come by?" Bella asked.

"I’ve heard about the likes issue," Archer Quinn said. "Don’t worry, I’ll handle it."

Bella lowered her gaze, "She’s deliberately trying to mess with me. Even if I get through this time, there’ll be a next time. Senior Quinn, I want to ask for your consent on something."

"Go ahead."

"Do you mind if I leverage your popularity for hype?" Bella asked seriously.

"If my popularity can indeed help you, feel free to use it," Archer Quinn replied with a smile. "I’m glad to be of assistance to you."

"All right." Bella finally smiled a little, though her smile didn’t reach her eyes and felt somewhat cold, "Since she’s determined to send popularity my way, I’ll gladly accept!"

It was the first time Archer Quinn had seen Bella with such an expression, making him hesitate for a moment. He didn’t want Bella to lose her true self over trivial matters.

Archer Quinn hesitated and said, "Bella, I can help you, you don’t need to..."

He was interrupted before he could finish.

Bella shook her head, "Senior Quinn, I know you and Ms. Cheney genuinely want to protect me, but you can’t protect me for a lifetime. Moreover, she involved Ms. Flynn and you, which is something I cannot tolerate."

Seeing that her mind was made up, Archer Quinn had to suppress his feelings, softly saying, "Let me know if you need anything, I will fully support you. Also, the press conference for the production is tomorrow, and the reporters will likely question this issue. Given your strategy, should I answer these questions or should you?"

"I’ll answer them," Bella affirmed. "I want to use tomorrow’s press conference as her wake-up call!"

Given Bella’s nature, she wouldn’t be so calculative if Vivian Norris hadn’t pushed her to this extent.

Archer Quinn nodded, "Have you thought about how you’ll respond?"

"I’ve already planned it," Bella said with a cold laugh. "Senior Quinn, you’ll know tomorrow."

Since she didn’t want to say more, Archer Quinn didn’t push further, "Let’s go, it’s time to start."

They walked together, and the crew saw them both with relaxed expressions, never having much interaction before, naturally believing they were merely friends.

Bella was the most affected by this incident, having endured the most grievances. The crew felt sympathy for her, offering extra care as a result.

The filming went smoothly, and the next morning, Bella and the team filmed until after eleven a.m. They were then driven by the crew to the scheduled press conference venue.

The press conference was held in a hotel’s conference room; as soon as they arrived at the hotel’s entrance, they saw the "Brocade River and Mountain" promotional poster.

Bella immediately spotted the girl in the pink palace dress next to the other lead actors.

She was playing Hera!
