Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife-Chapter 51 - 50: The Most Familiar Stranger
Damian Sinclair used to be aloof, but he was never this sarcastic.
Bella Acker stared at him blankly, as if she didn’t recognize him.
Damian Sinclair also looked at her, then continued, "If Ms. Acker wants publicity, please find someone else. I’m not interested." With that, he ignored Bella and turned his attention to the director.
He glanced at his watch before saying, "Director Ford, what time is the opening ceremony scheduled for?"
"Nine o’clock." Director Ford was momentarily stunned, then looked at his own watch and said, "It’s about time, President Sinclair, please."
Damian Sinclair nodded and walked away with Director Ford without giving Bella another glance.
Vivian Norris and the other main cast members naturally followed immediately.
Only Bella remained frozen on the spot. For the first time, she understood that words could hurt to this extent! Like a knife, cutting into her heart again and again, almost making her burst into tears.
"Bella, don’t be upset." Sharon Cheney and Elaine Vaughn exchanged a glance and stepped forward to gently comfort her, "President Sinclair never gets involved with celebrities, it’s not intentional targeting."
Elaine Vaughn also said, "Exactly, don’t take it to heart, bottling it up will only hurt yourself."
He was deliberately targeting her! Just to embarrass her!
Bella knew very well, but she couldn’t tell Sharon Cheney or Elaine Vaughn, who knew nothing about the situation.
Taking a breath, Bella forced a smile, "Ms. Cheney, Ms. Flynn, I’m fine."
Sharon, knowing that as a young girl just starting her career, Bella must feel aggrieved in such situations, smiled and took her hand, changing the subject, "Let’s go, the opening ceremony is about to start, let’s head over."
Bella nodded, and the three of them walked over to the prepared stage together.
At this time, a group of people approached quickly, surrounded by a bunch of followers including fans.
"Joan, you’re in the group today after filming late last night. Did you sleep well?"
"Joan, you didn’t have a proper breakfast again, did you? You don’t look well. Here’s some cookies I made myself; have some." An excited fan stood on tiptoe, handing over a beautifully wrapped box of cookies past the staff blocking them.
"Everyone, don’t crowd, be careful, there’s snow on the ground, don’t slip." Dressed in sunglasses, a mask, and a hat, Archer Quinn smiled slightly, raising his hand to accept the cookie box from the fan, warmly saying, "I made sure to sleep well last night and had a good breakfast this morning. But you all, waiting here so early, go get something warm to eat so you don’t catch a cold."
"We’re not afraid, we’re all dressed warmly. Joan, you look very handsome today too."
"Well, I’m handsome every day." Archer Quinn teased the fans gently, though he didn’t slow his pace.
The accompanying staff courteously but firmly blocked the fans trying to push forward as Archer Quinn walked ahead.
Once within the "Brocade River and Mountain" crew’s work site, the staff naturally kept the accompanying fans outside.
Archer Quinn turned back to wave at them, "Go get something warm to eat, I’m off to work now."
As he spoke, he handed the cookie box to someone nearby, then nodded and smiled at the crew staff, "Thank you for your hard work."
"Brother Quinn, no need to be so polite." The staff laughed and waved it off, appearing relaxed.
