Chapter 61: Chapter 60: He Doesn’t Believe the Child Is Gone

As the older woman spoke, the other two nearby also chimed in.

One of them, a woman in her thirties holding a child, said enviously, "Your husband is so handsome and treats you so well, you’re really lucky."

There was something else they left unsaid.

Even if they didn’t understand top world-class brands or how expensive custom-made clothes could be, just by looking at Damian Sinclair’s demeanor and attire, they could tell he was wealthy.

Handsome, wealthy, and good to his wife—such a good man is hard to find even if you search high and low.

They spoke quickly, and Bella Acker glanced to the side at Damian Sinclair, who had heard but acted indifferent. She whispered, "No, we’re not like that..."

"Let’s go." Before she could finish, Damian interrupted her.

Damian took hold of her wrist and, without further ado, led her out of the doctor’s office.

Bella was a bit anxious, "They misunderstood our relationship. You should let me explain it to them."

"If it’s a non-existent relationship, no matter how much others say, it won’t become true."

"Is... is that so?" So, in his view, their relationship never truly was close?

Bella smiled bitterly. So, from beginning to end, it really was just her wishful thinking that their relationship had once been a little different.

"What did you say?" Her voice had been too soft for Damian to catch.

Bella shook her head, "It’s nothing. I just wanted to thank President Sinclair for bringing me to see the doctor."

Damian frowned, gave her a cold glance, then said nothing more as he turned his gaze forward, holding her wrist as they headed out of the hospital.

As they reached the lobby, the assistant came over, "Boss, the doctor said the patches have been bought."

"Okay, go register for another appointment," Damian said, taking the medication the assistant handed him.

The assistant was momentarily stunned but quickly reacted, "President Sinclair, should I register for the dental department again?"

"Gynecology, 3D ultrasound."

This time, the assistant was genuinely taken aback for a few seconds before nodding, "Understood." After responding, he went to register again.

Bella instinctively felt uneasy, "Damian, what are you planning to do now?"

"What do you think?" Damian looked at her, his gaze cold and aggressive.

Bella’s eyes widened, "Are you suspecting I didn’t terminate the pregnancy? Worried I might use the child to threaten you in the future?"

"So you really didn’t terminate it. Saying the child is gone is just your excuse to completely leave me?" Damian’s face remained tense, but after asking this, his heartbeat quickened slightly, with a fleeting sense of delight and anticipation in his eyes.

But these emotions disappeared too quickly for anyone else to notice, besides himself.

Bella looked at him, twisting her wrist to pull her hand free from his grip, lowered her head to conceal the tears that welled up in her eyes, and said softly, "No, the child really has been terminated. Rest assured, I will never use anything to threaten you, and there’s no need for you to test or confirm anything further. If you’re really not reassured, I’ll go and have an ultrasound as you wish. But I’d like to clarify one thing. From now on, please, President Sinclair, don’t appear in my life. President Sinclair is a big figure, and I’m just an insignificant little role. There should never have been any intersection between us, nor do I wish for any more intersections."
