Wasteland Border Inspector-Chapter 300 - 129: Unseeable! Untouchable! Unrivaled! (Part 5)
Is it Liu Kun’s extraordinary ability manifesting? Or is it an extraordinary creature symbiotically living with Liu Kun?
Cheng Ye’s heart was pounding like a drum, but not because of fear; rather... excitement!
This level of existence, the Collector could actually capture traces and even construct an intelligence image.
Simply incredibly powerful beyond imagination!
After waiting for over ten seconds, he clicked play again, intentionally pulling the view back to seven meters away. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
This distance allowed him to see the details clearly without triggering the ripping-like repulsion.
In the image, Liu Kun walked straight to the center of the basement and stood in front of the sealed large cabinet.
He raised his hand to press the fingerprint lock on the side of the cabinet door. After a soft "beep," the frosted glass door slowly slid open.
Cheng Ye frowned slightly and paused the video to examine it carefully.
Unlike the instinctual fear he felt when seeing the Flaming Giant Eagle, he was much more familiar with what was inside the cabinet.
On the layers of metal shelves were neatly arranged dozens of transparent isolation boxes, each containing different forms of infection sources.
Many of them he had seen, including quite a few Death Language Tentacles he had personally destroyed, were among them.
But his gaze quickly fixed on Liu Kun’s actions.
"Rotting Vine?"
Inside the glass containment box, a mass of dark green vines covered with fine spines could be seen subtly writhing even in the solution.
Cheng Ye was taken aback, not expecting the previously discovered unknown infection source to actually appear here.
Liu Kun placed the containment box on a nearby operating table and took out several groups of labeled reagents from a drawer below.
He returned to the pile of instruments, efficiently connecting lines and adjusting parameters, his fingers dancing over the button-filled panel at a speed that dazzled the eyes.
Having never been exposed to this equipment, Cheng Ye could only vaguely guess that Liu Kun was conducting some kind of test.
The instrument’s screen displayed complex waveforms, and as groups of transparent, pale green, and deep purple reagents were injected into the containment box, the mass of rotting vine seemed drained of vitality, gradually ceasing its wriggling, its color fading from dark green to a dull brown.
Upon seeing this, a trace of unconscious delight flashed across Liu Kun’s face.
He pulled off the upper half of his combat suit and lay down directly on the cold medical bed.
The Flaming Giant Eagle on his shoulder let out a low call, and as its wings flapped, the sharp claw at the tip of its wing gently scratched a wound approximately twenty centimeters long on Liu Kun’s right arm.
However, blood did not gush out; instead, as if drawn by some force, it condensed into tiny droplets on the surface of his skin.
Liu Kun muffled a groan, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead, but immediately reached out to grab a transparent soft tube by the medical bed, pressing one end firmly against the wound.
What left Cheng Ye utterly astonished was that the other end of the tube was connected to the containment box holding the rotting vine!
As Liu Kun pressed the valve on the soft tube, the solution from the containment box, mixed with the essence of the vine, was slowly extracted, and strands of gray-brown vines wriggled along the tube wall, seemingly with a will of their own, burrowing into the wound, merging with his flesh and blood.
At the moment of contact, a sizzling sound was heard from the wound, white smoke rising, an acrid burnt smell appearing to permeate the air.
Bizarre green-black patterns rapidly spread from the wound, visible to the naked eye, crawling across his neck, entwining his cheeks, and even reaching into the corners of his eyes.
Liu Kun’s body began to tremble violently, his face contorted with pain, blood marks from biting his lips, yet in his eyes, there burned a near-mad satisfaction.
"It’s close... so close..."
Liu Kun muttered hoarsely as if sanded by sandpaper, each word exuding an extreme intensity of obsession: "Once my power advances further, no one can control me anymore, no one can order me, no one can... ignore me!"
The Flaming Giant Eagle standing on the control panel gently brushed its beak against his cheek as if in comfort, but its eyes, burning like molten lava, shined even brighter, casting a golden-red glow upon the entire basement.
Cheng Ye stared blankly at this scene, his mind almost stalling, unable to process it for a moment.
Liu Kun was actively merging with the infection source to enhance his own power?
Is this what all the extraordinary do, or is it... a new path Liu Kun has developed himself?
Cheng Ye was a bit puzzled, but based solely on his observation, he instinctively sensed something was wrong.
After the fusion with the rotting vine, Liu Kun’s eyes started to become unfocused, and his formerly composed demeanor twisted into a nearly crazed expression, intermittently bursting out erratic shouts:
"Fake, it’s all fake, everything is fake respect!"
"Power, only power is real. I will show everyone with my fists what rules mean!"
"Those who do not abide by my rules must die! Even if they are extraordinary beings, even if they are... Yuan Gang!"
"Yuan Gang, I want you dead, I want you kneeling before me, obeying my rules!!!"
Yuan Gang?!
Isn’t he one of the Deputy City Lords of Happiness City?
Happiness City has two Deputy City Lords, Yuan Gang is the Permanent City Lord, responsible for the management of Happiness City, appearing most frequently in public among high-level officials aside from the elders.
The other one is named Duke Morrison, responsible for the Industrial Zone’s energy and armament, stationed in the Industrial Zone for extended periods and rarely seen in public.
Cheng Ye paused, he could even dredge from the depths of his memory the face associated with that name.
On each Foundation Day of Happiness City, Yuan Gang would stand on the high platform in the Inner City Square dressed in a crisp white uniform, addressing the residents with a warm smile and a steady tone, like a benevolent patriarch.
Because of his predecessor’s talent in poetry and song, he would often attend the Foundation Day events and had seen Yuan Gang up close more than once, even receiving a shoulder pat of encouragement from him.
Does Liu Kun have a vendetta against Yuan Gang?
And judging by his tone, it’s more than just a vendetta; it’s deep-rooted hatred, even shouting words like wanting him to kneel.
While Cheng Ye was pondering, the intelligence space before him suddenly began to shake violently, rapidly splitting into countless flickering points of light.
It’s over.

The 25% charging value spent was really worth far more than its cost.
Not only did it allow him to see Liu Kun’s extraordinary power in a tangible form, but it also revealed the hidden secrets of Liu Kun’s heart.
Adhering to rules?
Cheng Ye thought deeply. Suppressing all curiosity about the extraordinary, he had somewhat understood how to improve compatibility next.
