Chapter 63: It’s complicated

Since the ice had been broken and Lin Li Zi had been placated, all that was left was to finish our talk from before.

We started heading towards the courtyard that we were in before we were interrupted, but I suddenly remembered something.

"Right, you were about to say something. What was it that you were going to say?"

This was asked to the Fifth Guardian Lord.

Before Lin Li Zi interrupted him, he had been able to ask me something.

The Fifth Guardian Lord had been silent the entire time since it seemed like I was busy with something, but there had been a trace of worry in his eyes since he knew that his time was limited.

Now that he was being asked this, he let out a sigh of relief at the fact that he hadn’t been forgotten.

"Young master, I was just asking if I could have some..."

Once again, before he could finish, he was cut off.

"Uncle, you look like the golden uncle from before. Are you related to him?"

The Fifth Guardian Lord knitted his brows slightly at the fact that he had been interrupted again like this.

But when I saw this, I said, "This is my little sister."

The Fifth Guardian Lord quickly changed his expression before saying with a respectful look, "Young miss, are you referring to the runt of our Golden Guards who went out recently?"

"Runt?" Lin Li Zi repeated in a confused voice.

The Fifth Guardian Lord gave a nod before saying, "He’s the weakest of our Golden Guards, so he’s considered the runt."

Both Lin Li Zi and I revealed awkward looks when we heard this.

That Golden Guard had said something like that before...

Lin Li Zi gave a nod as if she understood what he was saying before saying, "Then when you see him again, can you give him this for me?"

Lin Li Zi reached a hand out which had a small charm in it that she made herself.

Holding this up, she said, "I never got a chance to repay him for how he helped us last time, so I wanted to give him this. Uncle, can you help me pass this onto him?"

The Fifth Guardian Lord carefully took it before saying, "Young miss, I will make sure that it reaches the runt. You can leave it to me."

Lin Li Zi nodded with a smile and said, "Thank you."

I gave an approving nod to the Fifth Guardian Lord’s actions before saying, "So you were saying that you wanted something? What did you want?"

The Fifth Guardian Lord’s eyes lit up once more before bowing his head to say, "Young master, it’s just that there’s nothing in the training space of the Golden Guards, so I was wondering if...I could have some alcohol."

I was surprised to hear this before quickly saying, "Li Zi, go back to the restaurant and get some of your finest alcohol for this uncle. He can bring them back to share with the others as well."

Lin Li Zi quickly nodded in agreement before heading off to the Transport Array.

The Fifth Guardian Lord’s eyes lit up even more when he heard this before saying, "Young master, thank you for this reward."

I just casually waved my hand before saying, "It’s fine, this is the reward that you deserve."

I thought that I acted quite like a young master when I did this.

But the others looked at me with strange looks as I did this.

It was almost as if they found it strange seeing me like this.

Still, this was ignored as we went back to the same courtyard from before.

Not long after we arrived, Lin Li Zi came back with several jugs of wine that she brought back with her.

It seemed that even if she was stingy, she didn’t hold back with people that deserved to be treated well. I could see that the jugs of wine that she brought back were some of the best wine that she had at her restaurant.

She came right in time since as soon as she put these jugs of wine out, there was a golden flash of light that came from above us.

The Fifth Guardian Lord almost seemed to panic when he saw this as he rushed forward to grab all of the wine jugs.

He was able to grab them all in time, but he didn’t say a single word as he disappeared on the spot.

It was as if he disappeared with just a single blink of the eyes.

When he was gone, both Liu Ao Xue’s father and Elder Tian let out sighs of relief.

They were the ones that were feeling the most pressure from the Fifth Guardian Lord since they were the ones that could see his real cultivation more clearly.

They knew just how dangerous he was.

But even if he was gone, that didn’t mean that the threat that he posed was gone.

The Fifth Guardian Lord had appeared out of nowhere and had disappeared into thin air, so it wasn’t as if it was safe just because he was gone. There was the possibility that he could appear out of thin air again.

Liu Ao Xue’s father no longer treated Lin Fan the same way as before.

He no longer tried to attack Lin Fan since he had no idea what would happen if he tried.

Liu Ao Xue could see how awkward it was and since her father had calmed down, she didn’t want to put him in an awkward situation like this.

With a cough, Liu Ao Xue asked, "Father, why did you come here? I’m sure that it isn’t just because you wanted to see me."

Liu Ao Xue’s father revealed an awkward smile before turning to look at me and the lackeys to say, "It’s complicated."

Hearing this, I stood up and waved at everyone before saying, "Alright, it’s time for us to leave."

Even though we had just sat down, it seemed like they were about to discuss something important. Something that they couldn’t say in front of us.

Plus, I really didn’t want to stay here since I had no idea what Liu Ao Xue’s father might do if he lost his temper again.

So I brought everyone out and it was just the three of them left in the room.
