Chapter 275: The Kind Of Player He Is

The rise and fall of dynasty and an empire, truth be told, Aeryon does not know all of it either.

There is never one reason.

Some reason are more prominent but rarely there is only one reason

All he could do is try his best. And the first step he must take against the Yan and the other nation is to break their influence slowly from the Great Steppe.

This is the first step. Independence of economic activity. Hence, military power must also be accumulated

"This is not yet the time." If the Steppe have rich people and have companies, then there is many things that could be done.

For now, the economic aspect of the Steppe is very crude. And even primitive in Aeryon eyes

But he could not just jump through eras like it is nothing. The world has to slowly change so that he could implement some of his more novel ideas

Until the condition would allow it, Aeryon has to work with what he got.

Aeryon then look behind him and smiles ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"This grass this view would be the view beyond the walls" he mutters to himself

Beyond the half-completed walls, there is a vast expanses of untamed wilderness stretched as far as the eye could see, their golden hues shimmering in the fading light of dusk.

It is evening.

"look at the time" Aeryon thought to himself. He was so engrossed in looking at the entire city, that before he knows it, it is already afternoon.

He sigh but there is a smile on his face.

And as he look at the city, he ask himself again, could he do it?

"Can I do it?" he ask himself this question.

He already decided to emulate Genghis Khan method. He wanted to emulate it because he knows it would work.

But can he really do it?

That means killing more people. More and more people that he could pile up the dead and it would create a mountain of bodies.

This requires him to have a cold heart.

But Aeryon is not exactly like Genghis Khan. He could not be entirely cruel.

Even though he wanted to create the same mood as the Genghis Khan almost cruel discipline toward his soldiers, Aeryon could not accept it entirely.

But it is not like he could adopt the policy of benevolent ruler like the Yan either.

The Great Steppe, respect strength and not wishy-washy attitude.

Weak people is not respected because weak people could no protect anything.

And in the Steppe, if you could not protect people, how dare you become a ruler in such environment?

These are environment for hunters and not prey.

And Aeryon still jeep asking himself these question even after he had conquered almost half of the lower west of the Southern Steppe.

He had killed people. And he had wiped out tribe. So, when he fight, there is this killing intent that is very obvious coming out from him.

He had killed. And his soldiers had also killed. But every once in a while, he still question himself. Whether he could really bring this character until the end?

Could he be like demon incarnate? Or is this the only way to go on the top in this era. He is quite sure that Genghis Khan, or those conquerors that conquer the world did not have such a thought like him

Precisely because he had seen what the world could become, he thinks like this.

He had seen peace like this world had never seen before.

One could argue that his generation was not as strong as those generation before them, but if there is one trait that his generation have, is that they could choose and some of them would passionately defended one another and even though governments and regime tries to trample down on good values there are people raising the banner to protect that value even if it took their own lives.

Rudderless, purposeless generation, yet not all of them is like that.

Aeryon had seen peace and that is why he always hesitate.

He did not show this hesitation to his men because he knows that showing it, means weakness.

But when he is alone riding his horse, when he is alone in his tent with his own thought, when he had nothing to do, these thoughts that lingers on the back of his mind comes back to haunt him

He only sighed.

"It is an era of chaos indeed"

Aeryon remembers the future he knows.

If the ending of the Steppe is not bad, he probably would never have such a burning ambition to unify the Steppe.

He might have still strengthen his tribe, but it would never be as extreme as he did now, quickly increasing his strength like he is being chased by something

For the people in his circle, they all thought that it was natural. But only Aeryon knows that he fought and he thinks and he acts like someone who is being chased around.,

Chased by destiny, fate and time that will surely come sooner or later.

And when destiny comes, if Aeryon is not ready, then the massacre of the people of the Steppe would still become a reality.

Blood of innocent Steppe people would be sacrificed to those bloodthirsty Yan

Damned if you, damned if you don’t

If he does not strengthen the Steppe, the Yan people would massacre the Steppe.

Even though the fate of the Steppe is not explicitly stated in the book, if one follows the progression of event that would happen afterwards, the moment Yan had a foothold on the Great Steppe, they would not stop

They would then invade and kill many people of the Steppe. Without any unified command and unity from the tribes, the task of repelling the disciplined Yan soldiers would be hard

Aeryon does not like to wrap himself over the cloak of righteousness. But right now, he is doing that. So, that he could feel a bit better about himself

"Ambition, desire and my own conscience. How hard to balance all of this" he said with a sigh.

After all, it is determined by his heart

Aeryon look at the city and look at the improvement and progress of the city construction and then he finally enters the city.

The guards saw him and quickly wanted to escort him but one wave of the hand dismiss them

Aeryon look at the road and the central square area that is slowly taking shape

The central square of the city is still the settlements of the tribe.

When the builders is finished on many parts, only then a residential area would be built

Aeryon look around while at the same time making sure that the horses he had stolen, come with him into the city.

While he did not let the guards escort him inside the city, he did let the guards knows that he had raided a tribe and stolen a few dozen horses and orders them to make sure that the horse enters the city

It is the guards that helps him make sure that the horses did not run away as some of them ride the horses into the city and follow him from behind.

Looking cautiously at the system window, he discover that the system still acknowledges that the horses is still considered to be stolen by him.

Though the tick sign is still transparent

"Is it until I put them in the stable, only then the tick would be truly completed?" he thought to himself and he believes it to be so.

When he returns to the tribe with ten horses, some people was perplexed. Aeryon only laugh at this and goes to his stable and put all the ten horses into his stable

He had won these horses with his own strength.

Hence, it is not wrong of him to keep it.

Belarion came to him and ask him what had happened and Aeryon briefly explains to him and hearing his story Belarion suddenly become excited.

Aeryon had to remind Belarion that he did not simply stole the horses just because he wanted to steal it.

It is his plan to force the Fuxa tribe to take shelter with the Brolgadhr tribe.

Aeryon worried that if he did not explain this to Belarion in detail, he would ride his horse to the Fuxa tribe and make havoc there.

Belarion could only returns to his tent, deflated.

Seeing this Aeryon has the urge to laugh but he manages to hold back his laughter

Aeryon did not have to handle many things since the other would handle it for him.

As he returns to his personal tent, he planned to meet the Ashana a little bit later.

Since he wanted the task to be completed in the most perfect way.

"What is this Spirit of the Steppe thing?" he thought to himself. He did not know it but the Ashana might know some things.

He could already hand in the quest right now. But he had this itch that any players would have when playing a game

He is not the kind that speed runs games.

He wanted to complete all of the achievement, all of the side quest and only then he would finish the main quest.

So, he wanted to ask the Ashana about the so-called Spirit of the Great Steppe.

"But, I need to rest first. Take a bath. Take a nap. Wash off all of the dirt and fatigue away before these thing happens"
