If Haltur is taken, then Chagai tribe would have a firm foothold in the west. And that is not something that their tribe wanted to see

Since Aeryon reform the tribe, most of the tribes member become very ambitious.

And they all know the intention of their Kan. To take the west. Letting Chagai tribe having a foothold there is not something that should be allowed.

But if they rejected this, then does that mean they would tear faces with the Chagai tribe. None of them wanted this fight in this moment.

The tribe still have many enemies. And if Aeryon did not agree, then this might cause other allies of the tribe to feel threatened and in danger.

There is still the Utgard tribe that they should also pay attention towards.

But this is the concern of the military side.

The concern of those on the civil side is different. To them this is trying to see the limit of things that the Kan would accept.

Only two people in the tent that wanted this too happen.

Mayeux and Aeryon could not have been happier

What the civil side and the military side did not seem to notice is that even though the question of the messenger sound rude, the fact is that, they sent messengers.

Chagai tribe is afraid of the Brolgadhr tribe and wanted to know his heart. Why would he do that if he is not afraid of him?

Precisely because the Chagai tribe is fearful of his reaction, they would send messenger to gauge his intention

The fact that the Chagai tribe has to ask for his permissions show that they themselves think of themselves lower than his tribe.

Everyone has their own thought while Aeryon is closing his eyes and appearing to e thinking deeply. The moment feel extremely long, stretched like it was infinity

One word and there could be war between the two tribes

And hence, word that comes out from Aeryon mouth should be deliberated carefully.

In the eyes of the civil and military faction of the tribe, it seems like their chief is thinking of what I the best course of action.

The military is ready to fight in battle and the civil side is ready to call upon allies and other chief to support the tribe.

This is one of the strength of his tribe.

Unity in heart, all looking at the same direction, the kind of vigour that is usually only appear during a founding of a dynasty.

But then Aeryon opens his eyes and once again look at Chayun.

For a brief moment, Chayun nearly jump up in shock when Aeryon look at him. But Chayun quickly regained his calm and look back at Aeryon

Aeryon could tell that Chayun is a very outstanding person and then suddenly he cracks a smile.

The Kan agree!

He appeared reluctant but only he knows how excited he is that Chagai would mount an attack toward Haltur tribe.

Looking at Chayun warmly, like all of those hostilities before is a lie, he said

"Tell your father that I will abide by our agreement. I will not attack him when he attacks Haltur"

He paused for a second and then added "But, this would be the last time. The West should no longer be such a place of right and wrongs"

Aeryon words is filled with meanings.

Chayun of course understand what Aeryon is trying to say to him.

He is just saying that the Cha Ner Ul alliance should not expand more than that. This is the line that should never be crossed

If next time, this line is crossed, then Brolgadhr tribe would retaliate

The situation in the west is very delicate. And this is because there is too many interest that is now converging there

Chayun also knows that if his father push it too far, there is a chance that the Brolgadhr tribe would break the alliance between the two and engage in warfare.

And now with the large alliances behind his father, such a battle would truly bring a war that would rarely been seen between two tribes.

Because the Southern Great Steppe now, is very different than how it was before.

In the beginning of Aeryon campaign, most of the tribes are not united and have less alliance of military nature.

Hence, when Aeryon conquered tribe, it was more like a battle than a war.

At most there is only a few thousand men fighting against each other, and that is already considered a large battle

But Aeryon army usually only encountered a few hundred men at most.

And a few hundred men might seem many but compared to the war in other empires which reach to a high number, it would be like seeing a child fighting

The battle between two tribes never reached the scale of a large war.

It is different when a few tribes banded together to fight against one tribe. Then it would thousands of men on both sides

Aeryon did have such occurrence happening to him when a few smaller tribes banded together and reaches a few thousand warriors on their side.

But that is the unity of a few tribes banding together.

Never before, since the Old Empires that in the Southern Great Steppe, two tribes duking it out with each other and fielding ten thousand men on each side.

However, in just a short span of a few months, the Southern Great Steppe was transformed.

If the Chagai tribe and the Brolgadhr tribe went into battle against each other now, such scene is not a possibility but an inevitability.

With the power of the alliance, the Chagai tribe could fills close to twenty thousand men if they could reach the support of the other two tribes.

And what about Aeryon that have more than ten thousand men to spare?

Such a battle of so many people is not something that both his father and Aeryon wanted.

Why?

Because such a battle will be a bloodshed never seen before in this part of the region.

And if Chagai and Brolgadhr really went at it against each other, then when the dust settles, how could they compete for the world?

This hypothetical circumstances would require all the three tribes to use all of their men. And whether they win or lose in this battle, what is certain is that both of them would suffer horribly.

And if that happens, how could Ultar tribe fight against their other enemies with the death of so many warriors?

How could Nergui tribe not be crushed by such a massive loss of population?

How could the Chagai tribe withstand the onslaught of the other tribes that eyes their position?

They could not.

It is the same for the Brolgadhr tribe.

if the Brolgadhr tribe is confident Chayun is quite sure Aeryon would lead his army to fight against his father when he announces his intention to take Haltur tribe.

It is not that Aeryon doesn’t know why Chagai wanted to take the Haltur tribe.

the intention is obvious.

Strengthening the power of the Cha Ner Ul Alliance.

And the strengthening of the alliance means that it would be harder for the Brolgadhr tribe to take the west when this matter is done.

But Aeryon allows it and only left him with a warning.

Why?

Because they both know the worst-case scenario that could happen if they clashed right now.

Just like the Chagai tribe, if such a war happens between the two tribes, whether the Brolgadhr win or loses in that battle, it is clear that Aeryon ambition to take the west would take decades more to complete.

And his father once speculated that the ambition of the young Kan might goes beyond just the Southern Great Steppe.

If its so, then Aeryon would agree.

He might grudgingly agree....but he will agree

That is what his father said to him before he went to negotiate with the Kan.

So, what is the best thing they could do with each other?

Knowing each other lines and do not cross that line.

Aeryon words back there serve as a warning.

And Chayun knows not to push it.

If this young Kan went crazy and decided to attack his tribe regardless of reason, then the worst-case scenario could truly be a reality

Then Aeryon rose up from his throne and walk down and then come close to Chayun and put his hand over his shoulder.

Aeryon is truly amazing, he thought in his heart

He could change his face and attitude quickly.

Yet, the way Aeryon did it did not make him feel uncomfortable.

He nodded and laugh with the young Kan.

Quickly , the banquet area was set up, Aeryon people was invited inside, Ayrag and food is served, the night is warm and the atmosphere is jolly.

They drink the Ayrag like it is flowing water, the sound of music fills the banquet area.
