What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?-Chapter 786: Absorbing Refined Crystals

We used a boarding ship to return to the Iridescence and it felt like I was coming home after a long trip.

Funny how this ship is now a home to us, though I guess we did spend quite a lot of time here already.

As doors to the docking hatch cycled open, a blue haired Renata was there to greet us, my eldritch maid striking a cute pose.

"Welcome home Daddy! Do you want dinner, a bath or do you... Want... Me?"

Where the heck did Renata even learn a greeting like that? Is that still something that is done around here?

Without waiting for my reply, she jumped into my arms, her maid uniform turning into one that looked like a bikini with a tiny apron at the front.

"Ahhnnn!! Daddy! I missed you~"

I hugged her while giving her a pointed look, "Why are you acting like we’ve not met each other for a while? You’ve been with us the entire time."

"Mmm~ I don’t know what you’re talking about Daddy! I’ve been on the ship this entire time! So I need Daddy to spend the entire day with me!"

Ah... She’s trying to act like she’s a different Renata and completely not connected to the Renata I was wearing or even the Renata that has been accompanying us as well... Just so that she could use this as an excuse to claim me for herself I guess?

Obviously that wasn’t going to work on my girls as Amber and Lea pulled the blue haired Renata off of me, ignoring her cries of protest.

As though in protest of being dragged away, I felt my clothes squeeze around me affectionately.

I decided not to say anything about it and turned to my girls, "We should prepare to leave then. Did Theresa send us the location where we are supposed to go?"

Mara nodded, "They will be travelling there in their own ship, Captain. They have given us the coordinates where we are supposed to meet up with them before we start our flight towards the testing site."

I looked towards the blue haired Renata but she was still being held by Lea and Amber so I turned to the Renata behind me instead.

"Set a course for the coordinates Theresa sent to us, Renata."

She gave a cute salute, "Aye aye, Daddy! Setting a course right now!"

The ship began to move and we took the time to drop off our stuff.

For me, I only had the box that Eleanor gave me that contained the three Psionic Crystals that she supposedly refined herself.

I was going to put it away inside my room but as I placed it on the side table, I paused to look at it.

The last time I tried to absorb the Psionic energy from one of these crystals, I found myself in some weird space with an eye above me that looked like some kind of eldritch entity. Because of that, we agreed that it would be a good idea for me not to try that again...

We never know if that eye was an actual eldritch entity and it would be best not to get its attention.

But that was because I was trying to absorb the Psionic energy from raw Psionic Crystals... So what would happen if I were to try taking the energy from a refined crystal instead?

Renata seemed to have read my mind as she suddenly spoke up from my chest, "Are you thinking about absorbing it, Daddy?"

I nodded slowly, "I’m thinking that the result might be different if I were to use a refined Crystal instead... Should I try?"

"Mmm... I don’t know, Daddy... I think it’s a little bit risky though?"

"What’s life without a little risk, right? And if I don’t take risks, it would be hard to improve myself as well. I say I might as well just try it out to know for sure, right?"

"Nggh... I suppose? If Daddy gets hurt though..."

"I think it’ll be fine. If there’s any trouble, I’ll pull out right away."

"Ehehehe~ I like it when Daddy doesn’t pull out~" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Right... Should have expected Renata to be thinking about lewd stuff even at this point.

I opened the box and the three Psionic Crystals resting inside the foam in the box stared back at me.

I slowly reached inside and picked one up, testing the weight of it and noticing that it definitely felt a little heavier than normal Psionic Crystals of this size.

How did Mara and Amber know that this Psionic Crystal was refined to begin with?

Bringing it closer to me, I narrowed my eyes to inspect the crystal to try and see if there was any difference between this crystal and the other Psionic Crystals that I’ve held before.

"What’s different about this?" I asked after I found nothing different about it. "This looks just like every other Psionic Crystal..."

Renata giggled, "Ehehe~ You have to sense the crystal with your mind instead of your eyes, Daddy~"

Oh.

I’ve basically been practising on locking my Psionic energy within myself so I haven’t been extending my sense outside of myself when I wasn’t actively trying to use my powers.

I sucked in a breath and relaxed, opening my mind and letting my Psionic energy flow out of me.

Focusing on the crystal I was still holding in my hand, I directed a part of my Psionic energy towards it.

Immediately, I could tell the difference as the crystal itself was chock-full with Psionic energy. A normal Psionic Crystal would not be this full of energy so this was already a pretty big indicator.

But more than that, I realised that the crystals were actually glowing like some kind of lava lamp as the Psionic energy inside the crystal exuded a violet colour light.

This must be the colour of Eleanor’s Psionic energy.

Sure enough, when I directed my gaze towards the other two Psionic Crystals that were still in the box, they also had the same colour as the one in my hand.

"I see... I understand now. Now... Should I absorb the energy inside it?" I asked.

Renata hesitated for a moment, "Uuu... I still think it’s a little risky to do that but... If Daddy wants to do it, I won’t stop you."

Well... Like I said, I have to be willing to take risks if I want to improve myself here.

I focused my will on the crystal and tried to control the Psionic energy to enter my body.

Honestly, I was expecting some kind of resistance or maybe something that would make this difficult... But the moment I thought about the balls of Psionic energy flowing into me, all of it just came flooding towards me like a river with the floodgates opened.

The stream of energy was absorbed into my body and I quickly focused my senses to concentrate on letting the energy flow towards my core.

My body felt a little hot but I also realised that I felt power well up within me, almost like I had just drank several cans of energy drinks.

It doesn’t even seem like I was imagining it as everything around me seemed to slow down and the only reason why I knew this was because of the fact that my powers was influencing the things around me to rise up into the air.

Yet all of them were floating up in slow motion while the energy flowing into me was still moving at its original speed.

I would have thought that I was merely lifting them up slowly if it wasn’t for the sudden spark of electricity that flowed around me at one point and it was arcing really slowly to the point that I could see the lightning trail move across my vision.

I also realised that there was an insane amount of energy in this crystal because despite holding it up for what felt like more than two minutes, the energy was still flowing into me with no signs of stopping.

Just when I thought I would be standing here forever, the tide of energy slowly ebbed and I could feel the world speeding back up into real time and the things floating around me slowly fell back down to where they had been earlier.

I also didn’t realise this but at one point, I had also lifted myself up and my feet touched the ground again right as the last of the Psionic energy inside the crystal flowed into me.

The crystal then slowly disintegrated away and I could feel strength surge throughout my body, like I could lift up an entire car with my bare hands and without using my powers.

But at that point, my attention was focused more on myself as I looked down at my chest.

I didn’t want to believe this but... My boobs seemed to have gotten just a little bigger again...

I thought it was a joke that the power of a Psionic was measured in how big their boobs were... Don’t tell me that was actually true?!
