What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?-Chapter 1040: This Is Not A Newbie Friendly Dungeon
After the girls had finished breaking the dead Carno down for parts, we continued our exploration of this Dungeon floor.
Now that we know this place was more dangerous than the floor above, we're proceeding ahead more cautiously but I also do want to find the stairs again so that we can go up to warn anyone else who was thinking about going deeper.
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the difficulty of this floor is way higher than the one above. So if any party got overconfident after dealing with the dinosaurs above, they might get wiped out on this floor.
Had we just been a little weaker, Odeta would have been cleaved into two by that Carno instead of being able to withstand that strike earlier…
And said Amrap was quite dissatisfied because of that right now…
"Tsk… I can't believe I got complacent…" Odeta grumbled as we moved through the plains.
To be fair… We weren't expecting a monster like that to appear and we had already fought one of them before…
I patted Odeta on the arm, "I had also assumed it was the same type of monster instead of checking to make sure it was what we thought it was. I should have stopped you as the leader so it's my fault, Odeta. No need to be so hard on yourself."
"Nnghh… But I'm supposed to be the front liner! If I fail to assess the threat and deal with it before it reaches the rest of us, it's my failure!"
Oh wow, she's really taking that role seriously.
I grabbed Odeta by her wrist and pulled her towards me, forcing her to bend down to let me surprise her with a kiss on her lips.
She didn't try to fight and leaned into the kiss until I pulled away to show her a smile.
"It's alright Odeta. We're all still learning right? And it's also my role to take care of any mistakes anyone makes so as long as you learn from it, there's no need to be afraid of making mistakes. I'll always be there to pick any of you up, ok?"
She blinked for a moment before her lips curled up into a grin, "Sister Aster… You are so cool~"
Where did that come from?
Well, I didn't really get to ask because Lisa wanted a kiss as well after witnessing that so I just went ahead to give my other lovers a kiss too.
With the girls all satisfied we continued our exploration where we were looking for the stairs.
Our current objective was to reach the top of a hill so that we could have a better view of the area around us.
The thought of flying up into the air to check the surroundings did occur to me but I was worried that the sight of me flying in the air might attract a horde of the dinosaurs to my girls' location. That's why I wanted to occupy the top of the hill first so we could at least have the advantage of high ground in case that happened.
When we got to the top of the hill, I squinted my eyes and looked around the plains.
There were several dinos that were just wandering around the area but I didn't see anything that resembled stairs anywhere.
That was when a loud crash could be heard coming from the distance and we turned to see a dust cloud a distance away from us.
I thought it was another party that had made its way to this floor until the wind blew the dust cloud away to reveal two dinosaurs engaged in combat.
One of them had a dorsal fin on its back while another one had a spiky back with a spiked ball on its tail.
The one with the dorsal fin was using some kind of giant cleaver clutched in its mouth and the one with the spiked ball tail had a mace in its mouth as well.
"Are the monsters fighting each other?" Emilia asked, her eyes narrowing at the sight.
"Seems like it…" I answered off-handedly. "I think it's a thing for them to have territorial disputes. And that big one over there is a carnivore so the smaller one is its prey. But err… Do monsters even need to eat?"
Lisa shook her head, "They can eat if they want to, but it's not for survival. At least… I believe most monsters are of that category. There might be a few special cases I guess but its not really documented."
"What do you mean?"
"Like monsters in general can just survive on mana and that is plenty within a Dungeon but there might still be some monsters who require other forms of sustenance… Like blood for example."
So... Vampires?
I didn't get the chance to ask that question as the dinosaur with the dorsal fin leapt forward to slash its cleaver at the smaller dino, only for the other dino to swing its mace to smash it against the side of the blade to redirect it to the ground and causing the ground to shake from the impact.
It then spun in a circle and smashed its tail into the side of the dorsal fin dino's head, forcing it to stumble back from the blow.
Not done yet, the mace dino actually jumped into the air and curled itself into a ball to spin towards the other dino.
The cleaver dinosaur only had a moment to look up before the mace dino smashed its tail onto the top of its head, smashing it into the ground with a loud crash.
The dorsal fin dinosaur stayed on the ground while the mace dino spun back into the air to land on its feet a short distance away.
I thought that was the end of the fight until the cleaver dino slowly got up again, clearly pissed that it was struck down like that.
Even so, I did not think the cleaver dino could win due to the injuries it already sustained and the mace dino just seemed to have a shell thick enough to deflect any blows the other dino could land on it anyway.
But that was when the dorsal fin dino took a step back before its figure glowed and it jumped up into the air.
All of us watched as the dinosaur spun in a corkscrew before the giant monstrosity flashed forward to reappear on the ground behind the mace dino, landing on its feet with an earth shattering crash.
There was a pause before white slashes appeared in the space that it just passed and the mace dino was cut into shreds by them.
It let out a wail before the mace dropped out of its mouth and it fell on its side, blood pouring out from the slashes that the cleaver dino had inflicted on it.
"Did… Did that monster just use a Valour Skill?" Delmare muttered.
I didn't actually think about it because the first thing I thought was that it was using some kind of combo move like in those fighting games but I guess in this World it's basically a Valour Skill.
Emilia sighed, "So these monsters are even capable of using Valour Skills… If you ask me, this Dungeon is at least B ranked or even A ranked. We should go back and warn the others to keep those newer parties away from trying to descend further into the Dungeon. Otherwise, the entire expedition could be wiped."
I nodded, "Agreed… And if there's an Off-Worlder involved as well and they are actively trying to kill people with these monsters… Then we really need to get everyone to safety and reorganise for this Dungeon raid."
Sure, my party could possibly handle this without any issues but the others that were also in the Dungeon with us can't say the same. And if I could help them avoid dying or even getting traumatised like the three girls we came across earlier, then I guess we should.
I turned to the girls, "I'll do a quick flight around the area to see if I can find the stairs. Just in case, you girls should prepare to defend against monsters rushing towards this direction."
A chorus of affirmatives rang out from my girls and I let my wings explode out from my back before shooting into the air.
Flaring my wings at the apex of my jump, I focused on the ground to see if there was anything resembling a set of stairs anywhere around us.
It actually didn't take me that long to find it because all I needed to do was to find an area with a significantly fewer number of dinosaurs and there it was.
Alright, it doesn't seem that far so we should be able to make it there on foot.
Just as I was going to dive back down towards the girls, a very, very familiar roar rang out throughout the plains.
A shiver went down my spine and I turned in the direction of the roar and there it was… A T-Rex that was heading straight towards my girls.
Wait… Are those chainsaws attached to its head and arms?!!
