When the plot-skips players into the game world-Chapter 454 - 355: Growth-type Weapon!
Aiwass gazed intently at the deep purple gem.
It was as though a voice spread through the deep valley, echoing back from the other side.
A layer of brilliant deep purple slowly stained the depths of Aiwass’s eyes.
The purple gem, as if sensing something, flew up by itself. It hovered in front of Aiwass, bursting forth with an intensely fierce glow.
Aiwass’s right hand suddenly started to tremble uncontrollably—as if some power was pulsing from the palm of his hand on its own.
[I never write hardships; I will conceal half the ritual. Only the law belongs to the people.]
A light, echoing voice arose within the depths of Aiwass’s heart.
Merlin and Sherlock watched this scene intently from the side and did not hear that voice.
[Do what thou wilt, this is the whole of the law.]
Aiwass felt a stirring within, following his increasingly strong instinct to raise his right hand. Mana of the darkness attribute spurted out uncontrollably, connecting his right hand to that gem with a deep purple line.
That voice, accompanied by strange, unfamiliar text that Aiwass had never seen before, surfaced in his consciousness:
[You shall know, those chosen as the pillars, the apostles and sacrifices, are the Priests of the Great Beast.]
[Bind the words of Great Sin!]
[They will summon my children as believers; they will bring the heart of the stars to the people.]
In that instant, a vision appeared before Aiwass.
He saw "himself" seemingly in a narrow ceremonial space, bowing before something.
Though still in the midst of the vision, Aiwass was keenly aware that the "himself" he saw was none other than his grandfather, Jacob.
And as if an illusion manifested in the middle of the array, there stood a peculiar Holy Entity.
It glowed, possessing a form similar to that of humans. Yet, it could not be distinguished as male or female, old or young. It emitted a white radiance all over, with wings formed of branching antlers that curved behind it.
It seemed to be here, yet it also seemed not to be. Its presence did not bring about any change or influence to its surroundings, as if it was merely a phantom.
"Do not change a single word, Prophet. You cannot see the mystery within."
The overlapping voice echoed.
It was not in any language Aiwass knew, but he could clearly understand its meaning.
"Only the child born from your heart and bowels will know all.
"He comes not from the east, nor from the west. He does not come from any dwelling known to you.
"My holy number is 11, the number of our people. To the fool, I am 9, to the upright I am 8, and also the 1 in 8. The blind see me in black, the seers in blue and gold.
"I am the giver of knowledge, joy, and glory, the intoxicating serpent! To worship me, one must consume wine and the secret potion told to my prophets until intoxication.
"Fear nothing, child. Man, fate, and the gods, nothing is to be feared. There are no gods in this world.
"In my hidden name is brilliance, as the child of midnight is The Sun.
"Spread your wings, invoke all the radiance within your heart—come to me!"
This sentence seemed not to be spoken to Jacob, but as if piercing through time, speaking to Aiwass in the future.
"Come to me!"
"Come to me!"
It was an intensely strong, profoundly longing voice.
That sentiment crossed time like a blazing fire. Yet within it lurked a venom, like a coiling serpent.
Aiwass suddenly snapped out of the vision.
When he awoke, he was drenched in sweat.

A sense of panic still lingered deep within Aiwass’s consciousness—as if some beast, across infinite time, had set its sights on him.
But then, knowledge of many rituals that he had never been aware of before surfaced in his mind. This knowledge flowed through Aiwass’s brain like a river, leaving no trace, and then hid itself again as soon as it appeared.
In the end, only one remained.
—— It was the knowledge related to the ritual named [Ritual: Ring of Ouroboros].
Aiwass had now fully mastered the knowledge of this ritual and could even conduct it himself.
Only then did Aiwass suddenly realize... the power of the Incubus Crystal had been exhausted. It was no longer a gem—rather, it had never been a gem, the power of the "dream" had made Aiwass see a vision.
A thick book materialized in front of Aiwass.
It had a cover in dark brown with black, at the center of which was a "sword" shaped cross star made of white crystal. And wrapped around that cross, a deep red ring intertwined with the blade and hilt of the sword.
On the ring was a snake’s head, making it resemble the Ring of Ouroboros.
Beneath the blade, the book’s name was written in cursive — The Book of Law.
Aiwass slowly extended his hand to touch the book.
At this moment, something suddenly occurred to Aiwass, and he realized immediately.
Just as Mrs. Mina’s prophecy had foretold... when Aiwass acquired this book, standing by his side were Sherlock and "a person she did not recognize."
— That person was Merlin.
This also explained why Mrs. Mina had expended so much energy when divining this matter. Because she was attempting to divine an Angel Envoy... Merlin, who could have retaliated from afar had he harbored any malice.
The moment he touched the book, the white crystal was swiftly filled with a misty purple aura, transforming into an enchanting and mysterious amethyst.
And its name appeared before Aiwass:
[The Grimoire of Aiwass (0/21)]
[Extraordinary Equipment (Deep Purple)]
[Weapon - Grimoire]
[Module - Grimoire of Sin: For each different Phantom Card logged, gain 1 point of colorless mana (only one of each type of Tarot Card can be logged)]
[Extraordinary Module - The Book of Law: Your spell reach is increased by 30 meters; the Phantom Cards logged in your Grimoire gain an additional 30 meters of spell reach]
[Extraordinary Traits: At the cost of putting one logged, not yet cooled down Phantom Card on cooldown, another cooled down card can be reactivated, 0 times per day (based on logged Sin Cards)]
[Extraordinary Traits: (Unlocks after logging seven Phantom Cards)]
[Divine Traits: (Unlocks after logging fourteen Phantom Cards)]
[Divine Traits: (Unlocks after logging twenty-one Phantom Cards)]
"—Ah."
Aiwass sighed meaninglessly.
...Finally.
Finally, he had it in his possession.
Aiwass silently exclaimed in his heart, feeling a mix of complexity and joy.
— And it’s even a growth weapon!
The first unlocked entry is the most needed "Burn Card" at the moment!
Awesome, he’s graduated!
At least after all this trouble, it wasn’t a loss...
This "Grimoire of Sin" is the exclusive weapon module for the Great Sin Scholar.
It is tailored completely to the battle style of the Great Sin Scholar — the daily recharge of "colorless mana" it provides is exactly what the Great Sin Scholar needs the most. Colorless mana can replace any type of mana.
With this thing, even in his original form, Aiwass could use the Thunder Javelin!
And the book’s special module allows Aiwass to increase his casting distance by thirty meters just by holding this book — which is undoubtedly a massive enhancement for most Phantom Cards that require "contact" to cast!
For instance, if Aiwass had this card before, he wouldn’t have needed to use flying cards against the Wild Hunt King.
He could directly buff the Wild Hunt King from a distance of thirty or even sixty meters!
But still...

A doubt emerged in Aiwass’s mind.
There should be twenty-two Tarot Cards in theory. Six Sin Cards, each taking up the space of two.
That means, after removing the Sin Cards, there should be ten cards left in the regular skill bar of the Great Sin Scholar. Ten instant-cast, once-daily strategic skills, plus six summonable creatures that can be rotated... That is the regular battle method of the Great Sin Scholar before his next promotion.
Normally, the Grimoire of Sin should be able to log twenty-two cards.
Why is there one missing? Which one is missing?
As soon as Aiwass thought of it, the book started flipping open on its own.
The inside of the book was not blank — it contained numerous rituals, including some ancient and mysterious ceremonies. But as the being who claimed to be "of the sacred number 11" said, He "would conceal half of the rituals."
— Only half of all the rituals were present in this book!
And the concealed parts were always the most crucial halves... belonging to the "if you understand, you understand; if you don’t, I can’t explain it to you." If one were already familiar with a ritual, they would recognize immediately which half it was after seeing just one part; but if one didn’t know the ritual, they could never deduce the other half from the part they had.
"What a piece of fragmented crap!"
Aiwass cursed out loud.
