When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 1045: Wishing We Could Stick Together
"Good morning, President Lancaster, good morning, madam." Each greeted with cheerful smiles.
There was nothing but respectful titles and awed tones, their gazes at the two were filled with a certain delicacy.
Faye Turner followed him into the elevator. Despite her composure, it was her first time amidst such an atmosphere, and the feeling of being the center of attention made her feel somewhat uneasy.
Adrian Lancaster at the company was completely different from Adrian at home.
At home, he was incredibly gentle, with a smile full of affection.
But at the company, his smile always carried a hint of authority and distance, calm and cool, commanding respect without anger.
The company was very impressive. Faye had previously Googled it and found out that these main and auxiliary buildings were landmark structures in Argent.
On an international level, anyone who mentioned Prestige Group would know of it.
Exiting the elevator, she followed him into the CEO’s office, whose simplistic elegance matched his taste perfectly.
Upon pushing the door open, there was a man in a blue suit standing in front of the desk, organizing materials.
Upon hearing the sound, Dustin Shepherd turned and said, "President." When he saw Faye, he had a broad smile, though the former name "Faye" didn’t immediately come to mind given her changed appearance.
He was a bit stunned by her current look; still very beautiful, with a slight resemblance to the former Faye around the brow area.
"Let me introduce, this is Dustin Shepherd, your college classmate and my special assistant." Adrian Lancaster was quite generous now, not jealous at all; he had only one wish—
For her to have more contact with people and events from before, hoping his wife’s memory could recover soon.
"Hello, Dustin." Faye reached out to him warmly.
"Hello, Faye." Dustin smiled, "Welcome back, you’re as beautiful as ever."
"Thank you." As they shook hands, she looked at him, having no memories of Dustin for now.
But her first impression was good; he had a nice style and appearance.
Then Adrian Lancaster needed to go to a meeting, picking up documents as he asked her, "Faye, do you want to sit in?"
"What?"
"I’m having a meeting; do you want to sit in?" Adrian was eager to stick close to her.
Faye was very clear, "I don’t want to be conspicuous!" She rejected with just one sentence.
Dustin brought her a cup of coffee, "Your favorite caramel latte, the taste of life."
"Thank you." She took in the aroma, still finding it delightful.
Adrian prepared his materials and brought over the computer, "Then you can read here, feel free to browse the books on the shelf. Call me if you need anything."
"Alright." Faye looked at the huge floor-to-ceiling window, where the sunlight warmly illuminated the sofa.
She picked a book, "One Hundred Years of Solitude," from the bookshelf, then settled into the sofa by the window, as the sunlight softly graced her. Dustin brought over some snacks and fruit.
"Thank you." She looked up to give him a smile.
"You’re welcome." Dustin gestured to his ear, whispering, "Call us if you need anything; we’re next door in the meeting room."
"Okay, go ahead." She waved to Dustin.
Adrian approached her, bent down to leave a light kiss on her forehead, publicly displaying affection before turning to leave.
Dustin felt Adrian’s happiness, having changed completely since the news of Faye.
The power of love is truly remarkable; it can instantly transform a lofty man into a child.
