Zion Fitzwilliam learned the details of Elara Hale’s injury that night.

Assistant Harris asked over the phone, "President Fitzwilliam, should we handle those two people?"

Zion Fitzwilliam expressionlessly responded, "Hmm," and said, "In the next couple of days, find an excuse and dismiss them."

"Yes."

Before hanging up, Zion Fitzwilliam suddenly remembered something and asked, "How’s the Jacobs Corporation’s stock doing?"

Assistant Harris replied, "Still showing a downward trend. Mason Jacobs is now running around frantically like a headless fly, trying to connect with President Dalton."

Zion Fitzwilliam sat on the sofa, took a cigarette from the table, lit it, and held it between his fingers. "Tomorrow, have President Dalton communicate with him."

Assistant Harris quickly said, "Understood."

After hanging up the phone, Zion Fitzwilliam took a few drags of his cigarette, suddenly let out a snicker, and forcibly pressed the unfinished cigarette into the ashtray. He got up and walked to the window to let some air in.

The next day, as soon as Elara Hale arrived at the company, she heard that Penny Carter had committed a serious mistake at work and had already been dismissed by the company.

Elara Hale was taken aback, realizing Penny Carter not only misunderstood her relationship with Andrew Chambers but also thought that she and Andrew had teamed up to oust her?

She quickly explained, "You’ve really misunderstood, I..."

Penny Carter let out a sneer, turned around, and left without any hesitation.

Watching her back, Elara Hale felt a sense of unease for some reason.

This feeling was eventually validated in the afternoon.

Just after the lunch break, a bombshell news exploded in the work group chat, "Penny Carter jumped off a building and committed suicide!"

The coworkers in the office suddenly became agitated. Elara Hale stared at the message, her pupils constricting, heart wrenching. Penny Carter jumped?

She heard her coworkers discussing in low, deliberate tones.

"I heard it was at the hotel across our company, jumped from the twenty-seventh floor, died instantly."

Someone glanced at Elara Hale and said, "Enough, enough, let’s not talk about it."

Elara Hale clenched her hands tightly, deeply regretting. If she had managed to hold Penny Carter back in the morning and explain everything, would Penny Carter have avoided this dire path?

Although she rationally understood this wasn’t her fault, she still felt somewhat guilty.

In the late afternoon, nearing the end of the workday, another bombshell news hit the department.

One of the three major team leaders in the business department, Andrew Chambers, received a notice from HR that he didn’t need to come in the next day. Vera Ford curved her lips, "To be honest, every local female in Northgarde in the company has been pursued by him, myself included."

Elara Hale puzzled, "Why?"

Vera Ford chuckled, "Why else? To save ten years of struggle! He’s a rural student, lacking everything. With property prices in Northgarde so high, how much would he have to sacrifice to stay? If he found a local girl with a house, everything would be easier!"

Elara Hale was somewhat shocked, unable to imagine that the gentle-looking man was this kind of person behind the scenes.

Vera Ford continued, "Everyone in the company knows about this. You newcomers are his targets precisely because you’re unaware. He’s been with Penny Carter for quite some time.

"Good, then pack up and find a desk in Team One area." Vera said and left.

Elara Hale immediately packed her belongings, moved to Team One area, and found an empty desk to sit down at. Vera Ford called over Team One members and introduced Elara Hale, "Elara was groomed as the ace of Team Three, signed several deals during her internship. She’ll be one of our members from now, so learn from her."

Team One colleagues kindly complimented Elara Hale, who quickly waved her hand and modestly replied, "Just good luck."

In Team Three previously, everyone seemed disconnected. She really liked Team One’s atmosphere.
