Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Head Injury

Zion Fitzwilliam’s face changed, and he quickly stepped in front of her, his strong arms supporting her. His usually calm voice seemed to carry a hint of tension at this moment.

"What happened?"

Elara Hale weakly shook her head, "I don’t know what happened just now, suddenly my head hurt a lot, but now it’s much better..."

Zion Fitzwilliam frowned, a trace of worry in his dark eyes, "Have you ever had any discomfort in your head before?"

Elara Hale still shook her head, "No, it’s probably because I haven’t rested well these past two days."

Zion Fitzwilliam made a decisive decision, "Let’s get you checked at the hospital. I’ll call Brandon and tell him not to come."

Elara Hale quickly stopped him, "We’ve already made plans, it’s not good to cancel them, besides, doctors should be off work by now."

Zion Fitzwilliam opened his mouth as if wanting to say something but swallowed it back, and after a while said, "Then let’s go in first."

Elara Hale hadn’t booked a private room; she was used to being frugal, and no matter how wealthy, she wouldn’t waste money. This restaurant’s average cost per person was about a thousand, with a private room fee of three thousand. It was better to spend that money on better food.

Zion Fitzwilliam sat down and made a phone call. Elara initially thought it was for work until ten minutes later when Brandon White arrived with another man.

The man was tall, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. After greeting Zion Fitzwilliam, he looked at Elara Hale with interest, "Is this sister-in-law?"

Zion Fitzwilliam gave him a warning glance before saying to Elara Hale, "This is my friend Felix Ford, a half-baked doctor. Let him take a look at you first."

Felix couldn’t believe it as he looked at him, "Fitzwilliam, even if you want to showcase your masculine charm, there’s no need to belittle me, right? Half-baked doctor..."

Zion Fitzwilliam gave him a light glance, and Felix instantly knew to shut his mouth.

Turning his head, he smiled kindly at Elara Hale, "Sister-in-law, don’t listen to him, my medical skills are top-notch."

Elara Hale finally realized that the call Zion Fitzwilliam made earlier was to have Felix Ford come over. She felt a bit embarrassed, "Sorry to trouble you for such a small issue, making you specially come over."

Felix gave Zion Fitzwilliam a teasing glance, pretending to be melancholy, "It’s because I made the wrong friends, there’s no helping it."

Zion Fitzwilliam looked at him nonchalantly, "If you don’t want to look, you can leave now, as long as you’re prepared to bear the consequences."

Felix immediately shrank his neck, jokingly thinking, what consequences could he bear? Sell off the hospital?

Forget it, forget it, Fitzwilliam has been single for thirty years, his endocrine system is long disrupted, so I understand, I understand.

He turned to Elara Hale, asking, "Sister-in-law, Fitzwilliam said your head suddenly hurt a lot, what kind of pain was it?"

Elara Hale quickly replied, "It suddenly felt like a needle was pricking the back of my head, but it quickly got better, and now there’s no feeling at all."

Felix’s expression became serious as he walked up to her, checked her pulse, looked at her pupils, and examined her head for any injuries. He then smiled and said, "There’s no issue, it could be a muscle contraction in the head. If you’re still worried, just get a scan at the hospital another day."

Hearing this, Elara Hale let out a sigh of relief.

Though she previously reassured herself, she was still scared of having a brain tumor or something, and now with a doctor’s confirmation, she felt much more at ease.

Felix signaled to Zion Fitzwilliam with his eyes, and Zion Fitzwilliam stood up, "I’ll walk you out."

Elara Hale quickly said, "Don’t go, stay and have dinner with us!"

Felix waved her off with a smile, "Thanks for the invitation, sister-in-law, but unfortunately I already have plans with friends tonight. Let’s make up for it some other time."

Saying that, he opened the door and left.

Brandon White, looking at Elara Hale’s discomfort, smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, the bond between us brothers is strong, Fitzwilliam is like a leader to us. Even without you, his issues are big deals for us; you don’t need to feel bad about it." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Elara Hale replied, "That’s different. I know you brothers would do anything for each other, but if it weren’t for me, Felix wouldn’t have to come this way. I need to personally appreciate this favor."

Brandon looked at her with some surprise.

For people of their status, everyone around them usually had hidden motives, and anyone else might think this matter was just a small request, or they might even feel this gesture wasn’t enough.

But Elara Hale, because of such a simple matter, kept this kindness in mind.

He suddenly understood why someone like Fitzwilliam, known for not being close to women, would be willing to play this emotional game with her.

Such a pure and upright character, anyone in our circle would naturally develop fond feelings for her.

Meanwhile, at the restaurant entrance.

Felix’s usual carefree demeanor vanished completely, replaced by a look of seriousness as he looked at Zion Fitzwilliam, "Fitzwilliam, are you certain that sister-in-law had a head injury before?"

Zion Fitzwilliam nodded, his expression unreadable, looking up at him, "Is this sudden headache related to her previous injury?"

Felix hesitated for a moment but spoke truthfully, "Without a scan, I can’t say for sure, but my professional instincts tell me it’s probably related to her previous injury."

Zion Fitzwilliam’s brow furrowed, "Is it serious?"

"Not serious, even if you’re a bit carefree, you can treat it as nothing at all," Felix smiled, "The injury was so long ago, if there was internal bleeding, it would have shown up by now, it’s probably just a leftover symptom."

Zion Fitzwilliam relaxed a bit and nodded, "Then I’ll take her for a check-up another day."

"That works," Felix said, looking at him with a bemused expression, "Brandon said you fell in love, I didn’t believe it, but it’s true. I find it strange though, even though sister-in-law is very beautiful, you’re not one to be easily taken down, how did she manage it?"

Zion Fitzwilliam let out a chuckle, handing Felix a cigarette, lighting one for himself, and after a while, said blandly, "She didn’t take me down, I willingly fell into this trap, and besides, she hasn’t fallen for me yet."

Felix almost choked on his saliva, coughed for a long time before widening his eyes in disbelief, "Impossible!"

Zion Fitzwilliam glanced at him, "What’s impossible about that? I’m not a saint; not everything goes my way."

Felix was speechless.

Of course, he knew Fitzwilliam wasn’t a saint, but for this to happen to him just seemed surreal.

Is there really a woman out there who doesn’t like Fitzwilliam? Ridiculous!

Good thing Zion Fitzwilliam didn’t know what he was thinking, otherwise, his response would have been: Yes, not only does she not like him, just to get close to her, he must pretend to be gay to make her feel at ease...

After Zion Fitzwilliam returned, all the dishes were served, and midway through the meal, Elara Hale spoke, "Jacobs Group’s compensation was nine hundred thousand, I plan to split it among the three of us, are you both okay with that?"

Brandon White was eating and choked at her words, thinking he’d misheard, "Sp... split?"

Elara Hale nodded, "You both helped me a lot with this lawsuit, without you, I wouldn’t have gotten so much compensation, it’s only right I share some with you."

Brandon nervously glanced at Zion Fitzwilliam, "Um, Fitzwilliam..."

Can we even take this money?
