Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 1144 - 742: Too Late to Escape (Referring to the Holy Light Church)
"What is this?"
Looking at the Teleportation Gate that suddenly appeared before his eyes, Hevi was momentarily stunned.
He rubbed his thigh and pinched his eyes—
"Ouch! Got the sequence wrong!"
The pain from his eyeballs made Hevi finally believe he was indeed in the waking reality.
He stared at the Teleportation Gate, his gaze gradually brightening, and then even bursting forth with a literal glow!
"I get it, it's a type that can only be triggered after dying once!"
His understanding of the Sain Dungeon made him instantly grasp the situation before him.
It's just like how most people who want to go to the Round Table Hall have to die once at the Evil Omen Demon Ghost as well!
"No wonder everyone couldn't find the way out, it was hidden here all along, truly hard to detect," Hevi mused aloud.
In reality, this design should've been quite easy to discover, right?
But the Starfire Knights led by Hevi were elite, definitely a Gold Level team in the adventurer's guild, with strength on their side.
Plus, each of them claimed to be Sain Dungeon geeks, with at least some understanding of the Sain Dungeon's design habits, allowing them to avoid those malicious traps time and again, only to be caught off guard by the "scenario destruction" of the Flying Dragon at the Flying Dragon Bridge, conceding a loss.
"Right, where's the Flying Dragon Sword?"
Hevi quickly searched for the weapon that had turned into a Flying Dragon's tail, and only when he discovered that he had been tightly gripping it all along did he breathe a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, he hadn't lost the Flying Dragon Sword, a clearly special weapon—if he lost it, what if the next time he entered the Sain Dungeon, the Flying Dragon was still tailless? He wouldn't be able to retrieve it.
"Hehe, my precious..."
He caressed the blade, which seemed to still carry the warmth of the Flying Dragon's body, while waiting for the others to return, occasionally glancing at the Teleportation Gate.
The Teleportation Gate's reflection was undoubtedly the outside scenery, but it mostly showed the sky, with hardly any view of the ground.
He felt as if he had stayed in the Sain Dungeon for quite some time, yet why was the sky outside still dark? There could only be one answer—they had been here for at least a whole day, with the sky turning light and then dark again.
It should've only been a day's time; if it had been two, that would be too strange, as their exploration wasn't that slow.
As for why Todd wasn't here.
Either he ran off into the Undead Town Outside the City on his own, or he left through the Teleportation Gate.
"Oh well, although an interesting person, it was just a passing encounter; we'll meet again if fate allows."
Hevi decided not to search for Todd, as he still had to report back to the Church, with no time to spare looking for him.
He would welcome Todd joining the Starfire Church, but...
"I don't know if it's just my imagination." He murmured to himself while feeling the well-textured helmet:
"I always get this unpleasant feeling from Todd, though the Suffocating Dragon Tooth didn't react to him, proving he's indeed pure human."
Not long after, almost within a few minutes, the Starfire Knights gradually returned to the Fire Transmission Ceremony, and each, through their own reasoning, deduced the reason for the Teleportation Gate's appearance.
"Be prepared, polish your weapons, and be cautious when you step out."
Hevi's Suffocating Dragon Tooth spread out in advance, fitting onto everyone's bodies, yet without activating its abilities, merely protecting vital areas as an insurance measure.
The outside scene reflected by the Teleportation Gate seemed not to be a real-time true scene, appearing to merely be an abstract summary of the outside landscape, leaving them with no idea of the actual changes occurring outside.
Thus, they had to prepare for the worst.
For example, the Holy Light Church might have already set up an inescapable trap outside, just waiting for the Starfire Knights to walk right into it.
Hevi and the others kept their weapons handy for precisely this situation, and now was the time to step out!
"Let's go, everyone, give it your all!"
Hevi raised the Flying Dragon Sword, pointing directly at the Teleportation Gate, and the Starfire Knights shouted in unison, charging towards the Teleportation Gate with determined strides!

The time rewinds to not long before.
"I... I made it out?"
Kneeling powerlessly on the dusty ground of Hepa Town, Todd looked bewilderedly at his own body, then gazed around the familiar scenery, finally accepting the reality.
He had left the Sain Dungeon!
"But why am I back in Hepa Town!"
How he wished that upon emerging, he found himself in the bustling Yanor Kingdom!
Even seeing the impoverished Reid people fishing would've been fine!
The only thing he didn't want was to return to this Hepa Town, full of dark memories!
Just as he was helplessly shouting at the sky in rage, a small thing suddenly rushed into his arms.
Having just been adventuring in the Sain Dungeon, his nerves were a bit tense, and he instinctively raised his hand to cast a spell to attack, only to stop himself just in time.
Because what came running over was one of the only two children from the church he had founded—the Mad Fire God Sect, the two siblings.
