Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 1206 - 777: Inner Potential Revealed Again
"What the heck is thatโ"
The soldier at the front was startled, instinctively about to shout out, but the next second his mouth was covered by the person beside him.
Looking up, it was Tami, who acted quickly. ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ท๐๐ซ๐๐ก.๐๐ธ๐ถ
Looking again towards the monster, that bizarrely shaped monster didn't move at all, seemingly not noticing the sound of the group.
Tami's action was correct, after all, they still didn't know the details about this monster, and if rashly alerted, who knows what kind of consequences might ensue, what if it explodes?
Luluwo gestured to the group, and everyone started to slowly retreat away from the monster.
"Crack!"
Someone accidentally stepped on a fragile wooden plank, instantly making a clear breaking sound in the darkness.
People immediately looked towards the monster's location, but it didn't react at all.
If it weren't for that bloated thing on its body, presumably its body, still pulsating, they might have classified it as a dead object.
"Has any of you seen this thing before?" Luluwo whispered, glancing at the monster.
Everyone exchanged looks and then shook their heads in unison.
"Then let's temporarily call that guy a squid."
The monsters seen earlier in Sick Village were just three types: fat guy, skinny guy, and fire-spitting dog โ all nicknames given by Luluwo.
Although those monsters looked less than pleasant, they were much more presentable compared to this "squid," at least with distinct features.
And given the nature of monsters in Sain Dungeon, she had a deep suspicion:
Could this squid also have been human once?
No, how could something mutate into that form...
But thinking again about being in Sain Dungeon, it seemed all things were possible.
Facing such a peculiar monster not even seen before in the Painting World, Skyrim Strategy Group had a systematic judgment approach.
First, assess the aura; obviously, this squid lacked a strong aura but was bizarre enough to warrant caution.
Then, check the surroundings; currently, there was no other way to go, the squid blocked the only path, perfect for a menacing obstacle monster.
Next, consider the numbers; from entering Sick Village till now, only one squid has appeared, as everyone knows fewer numbers often indicate overpowered monsters.
Finally, assess the rewards.
Luluwo scanned the area, and then saw a treasure chest behind the squid.
Great, even a treasure chest has appeared, which means...
"This might be an elite monster!"
For a moment, the squid's strength was infinitely elevated in everyone's minds.
Why no reaction to people? That belongs to the calmness of the strong.
Why look weird? That's the unique aesthetic of the powerful (crossed out) monster!
"From what I've observed, most monsters encountered before have resistance to flames..."
Tami pondered how to eliminate the squid from the greatest distance, and if it were before, the Skyrim Strategy Group could produce a hundred different ways to handle this thing.
Unfortunately, they were now in Scameroon, without even a penny of their amassed possessions, apart from their battle-hardened bodies and knowledge-retaining brains.
If only there were an Ice Bottle, they could have dared to throw it from afar!
But with the exploration area so limited, the throwable items left were just Flame Pots, even the classic Enemy Attraction Skull hadn't been found yet.
"If only we had Moon Concealing Blade..." Tami sighed.
"Why don't you just bring out the Shattered Star Greatsword then?" Luluwo retorted.
"Summoning Star would tear Sick Village apart," unexpectedly, the young man countered back rationally.
Actually, such legendary weapons weren't necessary, even a weapon with Hound Step Battle Skill would suffice to bypass the squid and explore further.
Originally, Skyrim Strategy Group relied on diverse weaponry for their combat approach, but now, with all weapons and tools left in Yanor Kingdom, Luluwo and the others felt as though most of their martial skills were stripped away, almost returning to the days when they first entered Sain Dungeon.
In the end, people decided to adopt the most primitive combat method.
"Swish swish!"
Several thick chains shot out and wrapped around the squid tightly, as the Starfire Knights collectively threw Thunder Spears at the squid.
What a simple, unpretentious way to fight!
Everyone focused entirely on the squid's movements, any slight change would be preemptively guarded against.
However, the creature's appearance was so off-putting, causing everyone to involuntarily want to look away after a few seconds.
And right at this moment, something magical happened.
The squid squirmed in place, its bloated head abruptly contracted and slid, slippery as it squeezed out of the chains' bind!
Before people had a chance to be surprised, the squid released its pointed-ended tentacles, gyrating its entire body chaotically as it crazily charged toward the group!
"Ahhh!"
This sanity-draining thing was darkly quivering while rushing towards them, horrifying like a cockroach charging at someone from the south!
This wasn't about any warrior's honor, purely triggering the people's most primal fear of ugly things!
