Who Let Him Cultivate?! (WX)-Chapter 618: This Trip to the Demon City Is Worthwhile; We Must Come Again if the Demon Kingdom Holds Another Founding Ceremony
Discovering that the master-servant marks had vanished, the Transcendent Tribulation great demons hurriedly retreated, distancing themselves from the battlefield.
If we get involved in a battle between half-immortals, we would die even without knowing how.
Besides, even if we manage to defeat Jiang Lianyi, what if the Qilin Immortal appears to settle the score with us? No matter how strong Supreme Lord Zhu Tian is, he can’t be stronger than an immortal.
Some were truly loyal to Zhu Tian. If they achieved victory, it would count as a meritorious service in aiding the rising monarch, granting them boundless prospects.
The elderly Dijiang was naturally loyal to Zhu Tian. As Zhu Tian was his ancient ancestor, the elderly Dijiang ought to help him out. Furthermore, I had let the wolf in through the door, inviting the real Heavenly Court Creed over. When they settle accounts with us later, I’ll be the first victim. It’s not too late for me to atone for my sins with meritorious contributions.
The Jiuying Tribe’s old ancestor and the Taowu Tribe’s chieftain felt that this was an opportunity. As the first and second to pledge allegiance to the Dijiang Tribe, they were like grasshoppers tied to the same string.
The three great demons briefly communicated via their spiritual consciousness and confirmed their ideas before turning around to support Zhu Tian.
Suddenly, the sky above them darkened as three enormous figures loomed over them.
“You three, where are you going?”
The elderly Dijiang looked up, staring fixedly at the three colossal figures and forcing out the words through clenched teeth. “Jiang Mingzi!”
The old ancestors of the East Sea Dragon Tribe, the Demon Region Dragon Tribe, and the Phoenix Tribe joined the battle.
The elderly Dijiang turned his head, seeking assistance from the other seven Transcendent Tribulation great demons. However, they turned a deaf ear to him, making clear their intentions to remain neutral.
Regardless of which side won or lost, the law wouldn’t punish the masses. Since they wouldn’t face reckoning, there was no need for them to wade into these muddy waters. Moreover, they had been controlled by Zhu Tian and bore much resentment in their hearts. They hoped Jiang Lianyi would win.
“Bastards!” The elderly Dijiang saw through their intentions and cursed them under his breath.
Roar! The Demon Region Dragon Tribe’s old ancestor struck first. He transformed into a ten-thousand-zhang azure dragon, turning clouds into rain and rain into water as he charged at the elderly Dijiang.
The East Sea Dragon Tribe’s old ancestor aimed at the Jiuying Tribe’s old ancestor and released an endless stream of seawater from his storage ring. Merging with it, he transformed into a terrifying divine dragon of the seas, whose single claw could shred mountains.
The Jiuying Tribe was the ultimate form of the serpent race. Dragon and serpent rose from the land; the two races had been rivals since ancient times.
Jiang Mingzi pulled out a large banner and unfurled it to reveal a painting of phoenixes crying out at Mount Qi.[1] This was a Five Virtues banner left by their ancient ancestor and one of the supreme treasures.
“Damn it!”
Seeing Jiang Mingzi get serious, the Taowu Tribe Chieftain felt his scalp go numb. He had just advanced to the Transcendent Tribulation Stage, while Jiang Mingzi was a veteran at the Advanced Foundation Establishment Stage, not to mention that Jiang Mingzi wielded a supreme treasure. The gap between them was absurdly huge.
But now that things have come to this, I can only brace myself and fight.

On the heavenly altar, Lu Yang and Zhu Yunwu saw that the battle between the two half-immortals was about to erupt. Without a second thought, they jumped straight down from the altar.
“Dance of Immortal Fall and World Destruction!” Zhu Tian began to dance, his steps carrying an intent of destruction and annihilation. The entire Demon City shook, as if it was doomsday.
This was worlds apart from the power of the dance performed while controlling Zhu Yunwu.
Towering floodwaters formed waterspouts, eight of them positioned according to the Bagua, blocking all paths of escape.
Jiang Lianyi extended her hand and produced a jade flute. This was the jade flute that had hung on the wall of the fourth level of the Creation Ancient, demonstrating Jiang Lianyi’s fondness for it.
Her vermillion lips lightly touched the blowhole, and her fingertips covered the finger holes. She closed her eyes in concentration. Her long hair fluttered in the gentle breeze while she played the dizi flute as if she was intoxicated.
The crisp sound of the dizi flute penetrated the blockade of the eight waterspouts. It was as though the entire world had become utterly silent. If the eight waterspouts represented extreme motion, the clear flute sounds represented extreme stillness.
Motion and stillness met.
Crack. The temperature plummeted. The eight waterspouts began to freeze from their bases. In an instant, the tornadoes became pillars of ice. The temperature in the Demon Region dropped sharply to zero degrees, causing spectating cultivators to breathe out visible puffs of air.
“Go!” Jiang Lianyi lowered the jade flute, hooked her index finger, and lifted it upward.
The eight frozen waterspouts shattered into blocks of ice, forming a long dragon that smashed toward Zhu Tian.
“Space, congeal!” Zhu Tian shouted.
The space above his head continuously compressed, forming a spatial rampart that blocked the onslaught of ice blocks.
Seeing the two’s attack range exceeding the heavenly altar, with residual waves sweeping toward them, the onlookers hastily retreated to the Demon City’s gates to watch the battle unfold. They still firmly held their recording orbs, determined to record this whole process. The recording orbs had been activated since the commencement of the kingdom-founding ceremony.

Watching the awe-inspiring battle in the skies above the Demon City, Qiu Jin’an’s eyes twitched. “I’d come because I heard the ancient Dijiang was founding a nation. I was here to enjoy the spectacle. How did it turn into the ancient Heavenly Court wreaking havoc in the Demon City[2] in the blink of an eye, and then into two half-immortals dueling and six Transcendent Tribulation great demons battling?”
The changes are so fast I can’t keep up.
He thought about the incident at the Qing Province Grand Ceremony described by Bai Ming, the Battle of Hanshui City, and now this. These three events have one thing in common.
Qiu Jin’an leaned over and whispered to First Elder. “From now on, tell me in advance where Lu Yang and Meng Jingzhou are going.”
First Elder looked at Qiu Jin’an in surprise, somewhat baffled. “Why?”
“I’m scared of dying.”
The others also lamented ruefully. They had never imagined they could witness a battle between half-immortals in their lifetimes. This trip to the Demon City is worthwhile; we must come again if the Demon Kingdom holds another founding ceremony.

The Everlasting Immortal Fairy explained to Lu Yang, “This is one of the ways to use the Law of the Jungle Incipient Dao Fruit. Laymen watch the bustle; experts watch the subtleties.” Among everyone else present, only she could understand the two half-immortals’ duel.
“The Law of the Jungle Incipient Dao Fruit isn’t just about controlling people. Spirit energy, spells, objects...all fall within its control. Lianyi controlling Zhu Tian’s tornadoes and Zhu Tian controlling space are examples.”
Lu Yang’s expression turned odd as he recalled a certain ancient mighty expert. “Why does it sound similar to Law Follows Words?” 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
“There is still some difference. The Law of the Jungle Incipient Dao Fruit only controls those weaker than the wielder. Law Follows Words can control even the strong. It’s a pity; that person had quite the potential to become an immortal and form a Law Follows Words Dao Fruit or something. That wouldn’t conflict with the Qilin Immortal’s Dao Fruit either.
“It’s a pity. He just couldn’t control his mouth.” The Everlasting Immortal Fairy shook her head regretfully, reminiscing about her former opponent.

Chieftain Jin found it highly regrettable. This is such an exciting battle, yet the Little Ancestor didn’t come to watch it. She can only hear about it through my oral account... Wait, oral account?
His face instantly turned pallid. I vaguely remember the Little Ancestor instructing me to capture it with a recording orb...
He had come in a hurry, and as soon as he arrived, he heard First Elder exposing his dark history. I had forgotten about this!
Chieftain Jin quickly tried to mend the pen after sheep were lost and hoped it wasn’t too late as he asked the Baxia Tribe Chieftain. “Good brother, can you make a copy of your recording orb for me?
The Baxia Tribe Chieftain sized up Chieftain Jin. “Do you have money?”
Chieftain Jin gritted his teeth, feeling his heart ache. A duplicated recording orb certainly won’t be cheap. “Maybe I should forget about it. The Little Ancestor can make do with my oral account...”
As the two spoke, they heard a loud boom. Zhu Tian had fallen from the altar, creating a massive crater.
Chieftain Jin looked at Zhu Tian, who was crumpled on the ground. “I’ll buy it!”
“The price has gone up.”
1. This refers to the tale of phoenix cries inhabiting Mount Qi and crying out when King Wen of the Zhou State succeeded the throne. The people from the Zhou Dynasty believed phoenixes to be auspicious symbols, signifying the Zhou King’s benevolent reign. This was also a way to rally the masses. As King Wen won the hearts of the people, they supported him in ascending to the throne instead of the tyrannical King Wen. ☜
2. This is adapted from the phrase “havoc/uproar in heaven” from the popular novel/show Xi You Ji or Monkey King. ☜
