Win My Husband Over to Find My Child-Chapter 414: Worried About Missing Your Husband, En?

"Everything has been packed."
Leslie nodded once as she listened to Aunt Wendy. Both of them were staying inside Calixโs walk-in wardrobe in his bedroom. To be more specific, they were sitting on the floor with a giant travel suitcase between them.
Aunt Wendy often assisted in packing Calixโs luggage whenever the man had to leave. The intrigued Leslie tagged along. She also assisted the housekeeper during the task.
Calixโs dress shirts, suits, casual outfits, shoes, certain books and skincare were separated by compartments. Because Aunt Wendy had already chosen which items to be packed, the packing process didnโt take long.
"His passport is in that small compartment, right?"
Leslie glanced at a spot on the travel luggage in the color olive green. The zipper enclosure was slightly hidden by the monochrome prints.
"Yes. Mr. Calix just needs to grab this luggage and go. But, he usually will do the last check."
Leslie recalled the time she followed Calix to Rome. She noticed he went through the luggage once before placing several items inside. Then, he put the travel bag aside.
Aunt Wendy peered into Leslieโs countenance as the young ladyโs eyes remained on the suitcase. Her eyes sparkling, a soft smile hung on her lips.
"Are you worried about missing your husband, Mrs. Leslie?"
"...?!"
Startled by Aunt Wendyโs question, Leslie abruptly looked away from the suitcase to the former. The housekeeperโs eyes and smile had a hint of teasing, dusting her cheeks with pink color.
Blinking, Leslie didnโt know what to say. She parted her lips after a short period of silence, almost stuttering, "Oh, that... I will miss him."
A flush of heat emanated from Leslieโs reddened cheeks following her confession. She shyly lowered her chin. Her eyes lingered on the suitcase.
Aunt Wendy chuckled as Leslieโs adorable reaction amused her. She reached for the suitcase lying on the floor before making it stand on its small wheels.
"Hehe~ Please forgive this old lady. Iโm just so happy to see how good your relationship with Mr. Calix is."
"Ah, no! Aunt Wendy, no need to apologize ah," Leslie quickly looked at Aunt Wendy. She waved her hands, disagreeing with the housekeeper, "And, what do you mean by that? Aunt Wendy, youโre still young and pretty."
Aunt Wendyโs laughter grew louder. The merry sound bounced off the walls of the walk-in wardrobe, slipping out to the room outside.
"Hahaha! Thank you, Mrs. Leslie. Hehe, I should brag about it to my old man ah."
Leslie smiled in helplessness hearing how Aunt Wendy addressed Uncle Raymond. She found it adorable instead of offensive.
Aunt Wendy and Uncle Raymond had been married for almost three decades. Despite having numerous obstacles coming their way, they steadfastly faced the trouble together.
"Oh! Look at the time," Aunt Wendyโs eyes landed on the wall clock, "I should start cooking dinner. Mr. Calix might return early today."
Leslie also glanced at the clock. The needles were pointing to five in the late afternoon. Aunt Wendyโs remarks reminded her of Calixโs words before he went to work this morning.
"Iโll try to come home early. Wait for me, wifey."
Her smile softening, Leslie murmured, "Yes... He did say that."
She couldnโt wait to welcome him home.
Leslie and Aunt Wendy parted ways after heading out of Calixโs bedroom. As the housekeeper went downstairs to cook dinner, the young lady was in search of her daughter.
Slowly wheeling herself down the hallway, Leslie called, "Poppy, where are you?"
Leslie didnโt find Calliope in her princess room. The little one also wasnโt in the formerโs chamber. She wondered if Calliope was playing in the backyard as usual.
"...en?"
Halting at an intersection, Leslieโs eyes wandered to the hallway on the opposite. She unconsciously raised her brows at the sight of Calixโs home office door staying open.
"Is she in there?"
Calliope used to spend her time inside Calixโs home office whether he was present or not. She loved lying on her tummy in the seating area while scattering her storybooks or coloring books on the plush carpet.
Stifling her laughter, Leslie could imagine Calliope was currently doing that. Calix also didnโt restrict their daughter from coming in and out of the home office. He usually kept everything important inside locked shelves.
"Poppy, are you inside?" called Leslie as she pushed the door wider.
"Oh! Mama!"
As expected, Calliope was having fun inside Calixโs home office. The little dumpling happily waved at her mother as soon as she saw Leslie.
"En? What are you doing there?"
Leslie wheeled herself inside. She stared at Calliope who was kneeling on Calixโs swivel chair. She propped her elbows and upper body upward to reach the huge work desk.
"Oh~ Poppy find this ah. This mister and this missus look pretty," said Calliope. She patted the surface of the desk.
"En?"
Calliopeโs remarks intrigued Leslie. She approached her daughter closer until she saw two glossy papers lying on the work desk.
"Poppy, arenโt those your papaโs work items? Where did you get these?" Leslie glanced from the papers to Calliope.
"Oh~ Poppy look for Papaโs pens ah. Then, Poppy find this."
Calliope pointed to the topmost drawer of the work desk. Leslie wondered if Calix forgot to lock it or if the little one managed to find the key.
"Please give them to Mama," Leslie spread her palms instead of directly taking the papers. She smiled at Calliope, "Mama will put them back."
"Mama! See this mister and missus first!"
Leslie chuckled. She forgot Calliopeโs remark about the mister and missus. "Hehe, are those drawings?"
Calliope happily handed the shiny papers to her mother, "Yes! Here~"
Upon touching the papers, Leslie had just realized they were laminated, making them glossy. Her lips were still smiling as she looked at what was drawn on each paper.
"Oh, portraits. I wonder who are they... huh?"
Leslieโs smile vanished once her mind registered the familiarity of the faces drawn on the papers.
They... werenโt this man and this lady...
Herself and...
Axel?
Leslieโs breath hitched. Color rapidly drained from her face as shivers ghosted down her spine.
