Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam-Chapter 857 - 66: Guns and Fire_4
After returning home, their personalities all underwent some changes to varying degrees.
This must also be the Witch's trick.
The man in the black cloak quietly retreated back to the Eldest Prince's side, realizing the situation was much worse than he had imagined.
The hero Solan led the rebels to break through the west district of the prison, and the prisoners on the fifth level have escaped their cells, planning an uprising. The Thousand-faced Witch is missing, and it won't be long before the fifth level falls into chaos.
This upheaval is far more serious, perhaps marking the first time the prison truly falls out of control.
"Your Highness, the courtyard is no longer safe."
He brought back this bad news.
His brain was running at full speed. "Please don't worry, I will find a way to move you to a safe place."
"Before that."
The Eldest Prince said coldly, "Kill Balmon."
He wanted to handle the matter personally.
Even if he eventually had to evacuate this prison, he wanted to make sure those coming for Balmon's rescue would be thwarted. He could not tolerate anyone rescuing this man of a criminal bloodline right in front of him.
He quickened his pace, his right hand tightly gripping the royal rapier at his waist.
Returning to the interrogation room, the Eldest Prince couldn't wait to rush inside.
"Stop right there!"
He commanded the doctors surrounding Balmon. He should have pierced Balmon's heart with one thrust, but he felt that doing so might be too easy for Balmon.
However, this time, the doctors did not follow his orders.
They continued their actions, each appearing highly tense.
"Are you deaf?"
The Eldest Prince shouted, and then he noticed changes in the interrogation room.
At some point, an uninvited guest had appeared. She had shoulder-length golden hair with a tuft sticking up.
The old woman was dressed in maid attire, her wrinkles squeezing her eyes into slits.
She watched over the doctors' actions like a supervisor.
"Your Highness, thank you for your care of my child."
Her voice was full of anger.
The man in the black cloak immediately took action, once again standing in front of the Eldest Prince, his rapier slicing through the air, aiming straight for the old woman, but he stopped before the blade reached her.
He saw the transparent container the old woman was playing with in her hand, and the heart inside was still beating.
The room instantly fell into a deadly silence, broken only by the doctors' movements.
Soon, footsteps echoed in the corridor, coming closer in chaotic disarray, indicating a multitude of people.
"How did you—"
The man in the black cloak's question was cut short as the old woman's dagger pierced the container, going through the still-beating heart. Shocked, he clutched his chest helplessly and fell to his knees.
When the heart in the jar stopped beating, he also collapsed to the ground, the light in his eyes gone.
The footsteps quickly rushed to the interrogation room's entrance. Seeing this, panic finally appeared on the Eldest Prince's face. At the door, there were no prison guards but the hero supported by Meiliya.
He was surrounded, but this time, those who gathered around him were no longer flattering nobles or loyal Imperial People, but a group of weapon-wielding rebels who had incited a riot.
The Eldest Prince drew his sword, retreating to a corner of the interrogation room, swinging his blade wildly, looking ridiculous.
He screamed hoarsely.
"Back off, get back!"
His back pressed firmly against the wall, "I am the Prince of the Empire, the future King. Who dares to kill me? Who dares to kill me!"
