Chapter 1405: List of twelve tasks

"Let me take a look at that list." Rokuko said as she reached her hand out towards Lin Fan.

Lin Fan passed over the list that he had been reading while a strange look appeared on his face.

When Rokuko finished reading it, she couldn’t help asking, "Who do they think you are? Are you some kind of demigod now?"

If others heard this, they definitely wouldn’t have understood what Rokuko meant by this.

It was only because Lin Fan was from a different world that he understood.

Though the main reason that Rokuko understood was because of a certain animation that had been made available through the Dungeon Master system.

It was a certain animation that was sold there that gave her this knowledge.

After thinking about it, Lin Fan said, "I’m sure that they have their reason for doing this..."

As he said this, there was this uncertain tone that filled his voice.

It was impossible for him not to have this uncertain tone since he really wasn’t sure about any of this. No matter how he looked at this list, it really seemed like a list that was made to send him away and keep him busy.

It wasn’t like the list had anything that would be of benefit to him, all of the things on the list seemed like tasks that were there to keep him busy.

Rokuko didn’t seem convinced either by what he said, but she didn’t say anything in response.

Instead, she changed the topic by saying, "So what was that sword like?"

Lin Fan thought about it for a bit before saying, "It really is strange to think that it was created by some kind of evil sorcerer. You wouldn’t think that there would be something like that in the Laver Empire."

Rokuko nodded in agreement to this.

It was indeed strange since the Laver Empire was firmly controlled by Haku and her people.

For an evil sorcerer to appear, it could even be called neglect on the part of Haku.

After all, this kind of thing should have been monitored by the forces of the Laver Empire and prevented before it could even happen. This was the kind of thing that the intelligence network that Lin Fan worked with before should have been in charge of. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

But they had actually missed this evil sorcerer and allowed this sword to be created.

Though the reason for this was because this sword hadn’t been created for evil in the first place.

This sword was a magic item that had been created with funding from the Laver Empire since it was supposed to be a powerful weapon used by the Laver Empire.

In the end, the only reason that it wasn’t obtained by the Laver Empire was because of a mistake on their part.

One of the requirements for this sword to become a proper magic sword was to have a sword spirit embedded into it. However, the sword spirit that was chosen had somehow become corrupted during the process and had taken over the sword.

Not only that, it used its power to take over the sorcerer that had created it in the end.

That was why the sorcerer became an evil sorcerer.

In the end, they had no choice but to seal off the sword since it wasn’t something that they could destroy. They had used all kinds of methods, but they found that there was something about that sword that blocked all of the methods that they used.

It was as if it absorbed everything that they used against it.

Though in the first place, that was what they had been aiming to create.

This was a sword that was supposed to suppress the powers of whoever this sword was used against.

"So just what kind of power did it have?" Rokuko was curious about the sword since it was something that she had only heard about.

"Well..." Lin Fan said at first before raising his hand in front of him.

When he did, he gathered the void power inside of his hand and moved it towards Rokuko.

Rokuko was a bit caught off guard by this and couldn’t help taking a step back when she felt this.

As a being that was technically made of energy, the void power was a terrifying one for her. There was a part of her that was just instinctively afraid of it, even though she knew that Lin Fan wouldn’t use this thing to harm her.

"What are you doing?" Rokuko asked when she calmed down.

Lin Fan just raised his hand again as he said, "It’s basically the same as this, but it was a bit different at the same time."

Rokuko overcame her fear when she heard this and moved over to take a closer look at the void power that Lin Fan was holding. But it didn’t seem like she was able to see anything different about it even if she looked closely at it.

She didn’t know about the void power in the first place, so it wasn’t as if she had any opinion on this.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if she was a specialist on this to begin with.

Though Rokuko was a dungeon core, she was one that really didn’t have any combat power at all. She was more of a supporter dungeon core because she had a dungeon master like Lin Fan.

So it really didn’t mean anything to her that Lin Fan was showing her this void power.

After looking at it for a bit, Rokuko just became bored with this and went back to the list that Lin Fan had been given.

Lin Fan shook his head with a wry smile seeing this, but he also looked back at the list as well. After all, these were his tasks for the next while.

There was no reason for Lin Fan to rush with these tasks, but he wanted to do them during this time.

The one task with the sword had allowed him to become stronger and he believed that Haku had the same idea with these tasks. He didn’t think that Haku would send him to these places for no reason.

Since that was the case, it was best for him to gain as much power as possible before he headed back to the cultivation continent. After all, the moment that he headed back, he would be heading into the Dao Sect ruins.

He had obtained information from the Highoak Family, but that didn’t mean that he had enough power to deal with whatever was in those ruins yet. As such, he had to obtain more power while he was able to do so.

Though he had no idea what kind of power up he would get from completing these tasks, Lin Fan didn’t believe he would be let down by these tasks.

So in the end, he and Rokuko planned out everything.

Other than giving him a list of tasks, Haku had also provided a map of where all of these tasks were. Though when she gave this, it didn’t seem like she was that willing to hand it over.

It seemed like she had other plans for Lin Fan, possibly forms of harassment against him.

If it wasn’t for Rokuko asking for this map, then it might have been harder.

Though other than this map, Agnus also provided a few things when Rokuko requested it. Even if Agnus did keep Haku in check when it came to spending on Rokuko, it wasn’t as if she had anything against them and would help when she could.

Which was why Lin Fan helped Agnus when she asked for help before.

It was all Haku’s fault in the first place, so it wasn’t as if he could punish Agnus for this.

He knew what he could take and what he couldn’t take.

After looking through these maps, it seemed like there was a perfect route that had been planned for Lin Fan. It allowed him to visit all twelve of the places for the twelve tasks that he had been given.

Though it meant that he would have to go in a different order compared to the original, it was still the fastest way for him to finish all of these tasks.

Lin Fan simply didn’t have the time to waste right now since there’s no telling when the situation on the cultivation continent would change. If the Dao Sect ruins were opened before he finished all of these tasks, he would have no choice but to come back and go to those ruins.

So that was why Lin Fan wanted to rush through these tasks.

However, when he read the information that he had been given, he knew that nothing would be simple. None of these tasks would be that easy to complete and it might take him a long time to finish all of them.

"Are you going to be alright?" Rokuko couldn’t help asking in the end after they had finished planning everything.

Lin Fan could see that this was what she had wanted to ask from the beginning, but she had never found the timing to ask it.

Shaking his head with a wry smile, he patted her head and said, "Don’t worry about me, I’ll take care of this quickly and come back soon."

Rokuko just looked at Lin Fan without saying anything at first.

In the end, she gave a nod in response to the firm look that he had in his eyes.

Still, there was an uneasy feeling that filled the air.
