Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 571 - 25: Ambush
"Another one dead!"
The Upper-level Vassal of the God of Craftsmen, clad in armor and wielding a heavy hammer, listened coldly to the incoming news.
"Recently, five Middle Level Vassals have died, along with a dozen Lower Vassals, and even one Upper-level Vassal has disappeared."
"Obviously, someone is targeting us for extermination!"
"Yes." The Dwarf beside him nodded in agreement:
"Moreover, the assailant is very powerful or possesses means to restrain the God’s Favored, otherwise, it wouldn’t be so fast."
The vassals of the God of Craftsmen are mostly Dwarves, a race with forging talents surpassing others.
"Who could it be?" The Upper-level Vassal squinted and asked:
"Has there been any word from the Divine Son?"
"Our Divine Son is currently in a standoff with the Sky Battleship of the Creator, and it will be hard to determine a victor in the short term." The Dwarf shook his head:
"However, the Divine Sons of the Wind God and Water God have received the news and are on their way. Once they arrive, the culprit will surely be caught."
Hearing this, a smile appeared on the Upper-level Vassal’s face.
In the absence of Divines, Demigods and Divine Sons are the pinnacle of this realm, unmatched by anyone.
While the assailant is strong, they certainly cannot reach such heights, otherwise, they wouldn’t be so secretive.
"Swoosh!"
A streak of light flew in from afar.
The Upper-level Vassal stretched out his hand to catch it, revealing a paper-folded pigeon that turned into a sheet of paper as it landed in his hand.
"Hmm?"
He raised an eyebrow, showing a look of delight:
"The followers of the God of Deceit have found a clue to the culprit, named Dou Sha... It seems to be an Outer Domain Divine’s Favored."
"Come forth!"
"Golden Chariot!"
He raised the heavy hammer in his hand, accompanied by dazzling golden light, and a Golden Chariot appeared on the scene.
The Upper-level Vassal leapt onto the chariot, turning back to say:
"You guard this place, I’ll go assist them in capturing the culprit."
"Yes."

Valley.
Carl remained seated on a rock by the stream, eyes closed, as if immersed in his cultivation.
The Kent siblings hunted a wild boar, set up a rack to roast it, and before long, a rich aroma of meat spread out.
"Swoosh!"
With a swing of the knife, Kent cut off the juiciest leg of the boar and handed it to his sister, giving her a meaningful look.
"..." Jima pursed her lips, showing a look of difficulty, but still took the boar leg and walked towards Carl:
"Mr. Dou... Dou Sha, please have some."
What a peculiar name.
She mumbled to herself, simultaneously controlling her body to suppress the trembling in her arm.
"Hmm..." Carl opened his eyes, looking at the offered food, his deep gaze reflecting Jima’s apprehension, then he reached out and took it:
"Thanks."
"You’re welcome." Jima’s face turned pale, and she quietly let out a breath, retreating step by step back to her brother’s side.
It seems that outside of missions, he’s not that cold.
Just as the thought formed, Jima felt her breath catch, almost collapsing to the ground.
"It’s here!"
Carl’s voice was filled with joy, and he once again soared into the sky, disappearing from the siblings’ sight in a few flashes, heedlessly releasing an aura that caused great harm to the surroundings.
A few dozen miles away.
Three of the God’s Favored wielded the Gale, attacking several figures desperately fleeing, one of them shouted:
"You won’t escape, tell us who is behind all this, and maybe you’ll keep your lives."
"Nonsense!" shouted one person below:
"You’ve captured people before, and as soon as they wanted to talk, they were burned to ashes."
"That was an accident; we weren’t prepared." The followers of the God of Deceit spoke with a persuasive tone:
"This time is different."
"We’ve prepared, and that won’t happen again. Or do you want to remain under someone else’s control forever?"
"Haha..." laughed one of the fugitives suddenly:
"God’s Favored, you want to know who we’re working for? Well, he’s here now."
"You might just be the ones who can’t escape!"
Hmm?
The three God’s Favored’s expressions changed slightly, and then their bodies emitted divine light of various colors, intertwining in the sky.
The divine light formed a mysterious hexagonal prism, securely protecting them.
"Clang..."
The flames clashed with the divine light, producing a piercing screech, but only caused ripples in the divine light.
"Hmm?"
Carl uttered in surprise, appearing mid-air:
"What is this?"
Ever since his constitution reached a hundred points, even a casual strike could shatter a small mountain; going all out, even Third Tier couldn’t withstand it. Before him stood only two Middle Level Vassals and one Lower Vassal.
Under normal circumstances, they could never withstand his relentless assault.
His gaze fell on the token in the hand of one of the followers, and realization dawned in his eyes:
"Fourth Tier Artifact!"
"Even with a Fourth Tier Artifact for protection, just how much power can you wield with your strength?"
"Swoosh!"
His form shifted, leaving flames in the sky, transforming into Fire Birds, Fire Crocodiles, and Fire Dragons pouncing at the three.
Even these split-off remnants each struck with the full might of a Third Tier Taboo Knight.
"Bang!"
"Bang, Bang..."
The three Divine’s Favored turned pale as they controlled the Fourth Tier Artifact, retreating continuously.
As time passed, the divine light surrounding them had gradually thinned, ready to shatter at any moment.
Suddenly.
Carl paused.
"Hmm..."
"Consider yourselves lucky!"
He snorted coldly, transforming into a streak of fire and turned to leave, as other Divine’s Favored approached from a distance.
Once those Divine’s Favored gathered together, he wouldn’t be able to deal with them quickly, so he decided to leave.
Slightly disappointed, he returned to the valley, looking down from the sky, the Kent siblings were raising their heads to look up at him.
Their eyes showed a hint of panic.
Hmm?
Carl’s expression flickered, his body abruptly halted.
"Too late!"
A mocking laugh echoed, countless beams of light appeared out of thin air, enveloping Carl like a massive net.
At the same time.
Several figures emerged on the scene.
Divine’s Favored!
There were as many as thirteen!
Among them were three Upper-level Vassals, whose divine power collectively formed a killing barrier.
"Sir."
The Sand Bandit Leader appeared next to one of them, whispering:
"It’s him!"
Not only the Sand Bandit Leader, but the Blood Wolf also appeared behind an Upper-level Vassal, looking with a cold smile.
"Ferocity and brutality may give you a moment’s prestige, but not for long." The Upper-level Vassal of the God of Deceit pointed his longsword at Carl from afar:
"You control others with prohibitions to use as bait, only fostering resentment and eventual rebellion."
"Such stories are commonplace in history, and you are no exception."
"Hmph!" Carl snorted coldly, staring directly at the Sand Bandit Leader:
"Don’t forget the prohibitions on you; with just one thought, I can reduce you to nothing!"
"You can try." The Sand Bandit Leader sneered:
"Dou Sha! You are indeed strong, but you are not a Divine, so you cannot understand a Divine’s methods."
"A month ago, I began probing contact with the Divine’s Favored, inadvertently leaking some information, and with the help of several Angels, we can completely sever your prohibition."
"..." Carl’s expression changed, seemingly trying to trigger the prohibition, but his expression grew increasingly worse:
"Fine!"
"Very well!"
"Enough with the nonsense!" The Upper-level Vassal of the God of Craftsmen shouted angrily, raising a heavy hammer in his hand:
"Kill him!"
"Boom!"
Spirits of various colors surged, blending into the barrier, like a multitude of frenzied blades, compressing Carl’s movement space.
More Divine’s Favored were approaching from a distance, including the three previously pursued by Carl.
It was obvious.
This was a trap.
The Sand Bandit Leader had betrayed Carl, colluding with God’s Favored to lure him away and set this ambush here.
"Third Tier!"
"And not an ordinary Third Tier." The Favored of the God of Deceit eyed Carl, nodding slightly:
"If he weren’t trapped in the barrier, killing him would indeed be difficult."
"What a pity..."
"Everything is over!"
"Hmm?"
Before he finished speaking, his expression suddenly changed.
In the barrier, Carl’s body shrunk, turning into a continuously compressing strange fireball, and then...
"Boom!"
A deafening explosion echoed in the mid-air of the valley.
The terrifying force directly collapsed the surrounding mountains, shredding the barrier formed by the dozen Divine’s Favored into pieces.
Self-destruct of flames!
The one trapped wasn’t Carl, but a Flame Giant that had been absorbing Earth Vein Fire Energy here for months.
Such a self-detonation, even a Demigod would be hard-pressed to withstand.
And the explosion did not end there.
"Ugh..."
The Sand Bandit Leader’s eyes bulged out, clutching his abdomen in horror, shouting to the sky in anger:
"No!"
"Boom!"
He exploded into a fireball on the spot, and the already wounded Divine’s Favored beside him were blown away.
He wasn’t the only one to explode.
The Sand Bandit members self-destructed at the same time, affecting all the Divine’s Favored.
Meanwhile.
The Blood Wolf’s body flickered, and the longsword silently pierced the back of the Upper-level Vassal before him.
"Puff!"
Only at this moment did Carl’s figure reappear high above the valley. Facing a group of injured Divine’s Favored, or rather...
A harvest of Source Material!
