Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 609: The Plan
The thought core can store a vast amount of data, allowing any information to be stored and retrieved simply by manipulating it with Spiritual Power.
This is extremely useful for Wizards as research related to Magic Potion, Alchemy, or Magic invariably involves a lot of material and data.
In the past, Wizards relied on parchment, specially treated animal hides, or certain processed magical plant fiber sheets as carriers, using ink infused with Magic Power to write records.
Those who were slightly wealthier or at the forefront would use memory crystal boards that can be repeatedly erased and rewritten but are much more expensive.
Many Wizards have entire space rings filled with scrolls and booklets, classified and piled high, filled with experimental data, magic model deduction sketches, magic potion recipe improvement notes, alchemical reaction formulas, plane insights, and even personal experiences.
Such methods have had value throughout the long history of Wizards but are also fraught with various undeniable drawbacks.
Firstly, there is the physical fragility and inconvenience—parchment is susceptible to fire, moisture, and insect damage, and even with protective magic, it remains prone to destruction during fierce battles, accidental laboratory incidents, or harsh exploratory environments.
Carrying it is a problem as well; significant materials can’t all be carried personally, and distributed storage risks loss.
When consulting materials, one has to search through piles of scrolls, a low-efficiency process, making urgent retrieval of essential data a troublesome ordeal.
Additionally, information management is inefficient with vast data scattered across thousands of independent carriers, making establishing effective indexing and association exceptionally challenging.
Cross-referencing data from different experiments or searching for records related to a rare material often requires a lot of time for manual retrieval.
Not to mention, amendments and updates become extremely cumbersome as research advances, often only allowing edits and additions on the original manuscript, leading to chaotic pages or forcing a complete transcription of entire materials, a monumental workload.
However, the thought core from the Seville Empire that Duke held in his hands fundamentally revolutionized this traditional model.
The thought core boasts near-unlimited capacity, unaffected by water, fire, and the ravages of time, boasting high security.
Its weight and volume are negligible, allowing one to carry an entire library with them.
It is entirely driven by spiritual power, with information stored and retrieved instantaneously by a mere thought.
Whether recording a sudden inspiration or storing a complex three-dimensional magic model structure diagram, it happens in the blink of an eye. Modifying, updating, and deleting are equally convenient, with no concerns about page problems.
Storage format can be freely defined, with text, images, audio, and even simulated energy wave features perfectly recorded and reproduced.
The thought core’s built-in management logic allows users to instinctively establish multi-layered virtual folders, tagging systems, and custom association rules. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
When retrieving materials, instead of manual searching, a mere thought query presents all related entries clearly across dimensions like correlation and time.
It can even perform preliminary intelligent classification and suggestions based on the user’s usage habits and markings.
Thought core also offers powerful computational and simulation support functions, exceeding mere storage.
Faced with vast experimental data, it can quickly conduct statistical analysis, fit curves, and discern patterns.
In researching magic models or alchemical formulas, it can call upon built-in algorithms to conduct stability simulations and energy flow optimization deductions, freeing Wizards from a lot of tedious repetitive calculations, allowing them to focus on creative thinking.
The thought core also provides an interface for connecting to the empire’s extensive knowledge network, meaning Duke can not only store personal knowledge but also instantly access the external latest academic developments and public database materials.
In the future, if granted higher permissions or specific protocols, it could even enable secure, efficient exchanges and collaborations within certain scope, greatly expanding the boundaries of knowledge acquisition and application.
"No wonder the Seville Empire has progressed so far on the path of Mechanical Wizardry. Besides concepts, auxiliary tools like this are probably one of the keys."
Duke played with the brilliantly crafted artifact in his hand, feeling emotional.
After experiencing the thought core, he already had several ideas, making future experiments and research much more convenient.
Duke then looked at the skill tree in his mind again, noticing significant improvements in skill proficiency, acquired from the day’s battles.

He intentionally used skills not yet maxed out whenever opportunities arose.
After all, to him, there was virtually no pressure in terms of Magic Power, as his internal Magic Power combined with the Earth Spring is nearly inexhaustible.
Unless continuously casting high-consumption types of magic that drain his internal Magic Power completely, it would perpetually regenerate.
The Witch Array simulation battlefield effect exceeded Duke’s expectations, almost indistinguishable from real combat except that one’s self does not incur true injury or death.
Moreover, the mindset wasn’t as relaxed as one might think knowing true death wasn’t possible because, when in the throes of battle, the pressure from opponents felt tangible.
Sometimes, Duke even believed that the opponents he faced were living beings, rather than just a bunch of data.
Standing amid the battlefield, he felt genuinely like having a sword come down on him would truly result in death.
This is why he found the Witch Array simulation battlefield so effective, as knowing from the start you cannot die diminishes the effectiveness of training.
But this isn’t felt when actually inside, not certain if it’s an effect of the simulation battlefield itself.
"The effect is good. In the upcoming period, I’ll focus on leveling up the remaining skills to max level first inside it," Duke contemplated.
He planned to first max out his existing skills before learning some new magic from the Seville Empire.
The magic here likely differs in principles and concepts from those on the West Coast, and even if not practically useful for himself, they can inspire new ideas, broadening his horizons.
In the months ahead, Duke’s life entered a highly routine rhythm.
His daily core schedule involved meditating in the quiet room of the Heart of Gears Hotel, recovering and consolidating the growth in spiritual power and detailed control over strength gained from intensive simulation battles, followed by heading to the evaluation and training center at Anvil Castle, immersed in the Witch Array simulation battlefield.
