Chapter 1640 -750: Banker Heist (Part 3)

This war is far from over. And the path he has chosen is destined to lead to darker and unknown abysses.

“Even Jesus couldn’t save him now.”

Victor saw the message sent by the Intelligence Bureau and couldn’t help but twitch his eyebrows when he saw Little Bush being so bold.

“I must say, this gentleman has a lot of courage.”

Victor put down the telegram, and his tone revealed neither admiration nor sarcasm, “He has chosen the most direct and also the most dangerous path. Overturning the table in one fell swoop, it’s just uncertain whether this fire will ultimately burn the enemy or consume himself.”

Beside him, Casare smacked his lips and couldn’t help but sigh, “Well, now Little Bush can finally reunite with his dad.”

Upon hearing this, Victor couldn’t help but glance at him twice, then chuckled softly. The others in the office, like Defense Minister Kennedy, the Chief of Staff, and others, were initially stunned but then suppressed their laughter, creating a somewhat strange atmosphere.

Casare always managed to tell some… cold jokes.

“This step he has taken doesn’t just end his political life simply. He’s not just touching the interests of one or two people; he’s aggravating the entire financial behemoth parasitizing on America’s body. Even if Roosevelt came, with his New Deal and wartime powers, it would probably be of no avail, unable to save this ‘capital traitor.'”

As he spoke, he sighed gently, but the sigh contained little regret, more like a confirmation of historical patterns.

He turned to Casare and Kennedy, and his tone became solemn:

“This is why power and capital must have a clear boundary, or you could say the ultimate power must always be in the hands of the core forces that can steer the country’s direction. We in Mexico may also face various issues in the future—economic crises, external pressures, internal conflicts—but as long as we ensure a high concentration of power and armed forces, ensure the national will can be executed without hindrance, these ill-intentioned ‘vultures’ will have no chance to revel over the nation’s corpses, and there will be no absurd situations where a president has to rely on private militias to force banks to bleed!”

His voice was not high, yet it carried an undeniable decisiveness. Kennedy and others nodded solemnly.

They were well aware that the highly centralized “Victorism” system that Victor had crafted, with him at the core, though much criticized in the Western world, showed surprising efficiency and stability in dealing with the current chaos.

Defense Minister Kennedy timely brought the topic back to reality, “The front line has just confirmed that most of the U.S. military in Gree City has surrendered, with only a few scattering. Our forces took this pivotal city without bloodshed. Should the troops continue to advance deeply from here?”

All eyes were on Victor.

Victor slowly shook his head, his finger tapping on the location of Gree City on the map.

“No, temporarily halt large-scale offensives. Little Bush has just temporarily stabilized the financial collapse at the rear, possibly even re-issued some military pay. The despair among the front-line U.S. soldiers may ease, and their will to resist may briefly have a ‘terminal lucidity’-like boost. An assault now would be too costly.”

He paused, his eyes glittering with calculation: “What we need to do is digest. Thoroughly digest this piece of fat that is Indiana. Turn it into our fortress, our model, so that all the American states still watching can see what benefits they would receive from leaving Washington’s ‘tyranny’ and joining our ‘Free America’ camp!”

He looked towards Casare: “Order the frontline headquarters to transition to a strategic defense and consolidation phase, centered on Gree City, to build a comprehensive defense system. At the same time, increase the propaganda efforts, maximize the broadcast power of the ‘Voice of American Freedom’ radio, not only play Miss Lily’s gentle offensive but also extensively report on the Detroit massacre, the bankers’ greed, and how Little Bush’s government has ‘betrayed’ the soldiers and people! We need to mentally and materially dismantle America’s resistance foundations.”

“Understood!” Casare immediately recorded.

“And another thing.”

After pondering for a moment, Victor mentioned a name, “Send a telegram to Angel Urenia, appoint him as the Deputy Chairman of the Indiana Military Control Committee, yes, externally call it the Deputy Officer of the Indiana Temporary Management Committee, fully responsible for post-war order reconstruction, livelihoods recovery, and the identification and recruitment of ‘collaborators’ in that state.”

“Angel Urenia?!” 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

At the mention of this name, several people in the office were taken aback, and then their expressions became quite intriguing.

Angel Urenia, former Chief of Staff of the Clinton administration, a seasoned Democratic Party bureaucrat, deeply entrenched in Washington’s political circles, with extensive connections.

An ex-U.S. government high-ranking official who actively leaned towards Mexico and presented his pledge, due to his deep understanding of American political operations and bureaucracy, was appointed by Victor as the “Plenipotentiary Envoy for North American Affairs of the United Mexican States,” specifically responsible for instigating and wooing disillusioned politicians, regional powers, and swing forces within America.

It can be said that he is an unequivocal high-level “American traitor”!

Letting an “American traitor” manage the newly fallen American territory, to manage those who might still be nostalgic for the Federal government…

He said leisurely, “Don’t you find that letting a former U.S. high official personally dismantle Indiana’s state government, to soothe those possibly still reminiscing Americans and tell them how ‘wonderful’ the new order is, itself is the most acute satire on the United States of America’s legitimacy and the most fatal blow?”

Victor: “I tell Urenia, go at it freely, I give him the greatest authority. Supplies, funds, and even limited armed forces will be prioritized for him. I have only one request: in the shortest possible time, stabilize Indiana and make it a ‘model house’ to attract other American states to watch and even emulate.”

“Yes! I’ll arrange it immediately!” Casare responded excitedly.
