Chapter 1809 -796: So Overbearing!!
Admiral Kitchener brought up a detailed 3D model of the El Mirador manor on the electronic sandbox and pointed with a command stick saying, “A standard design for a wealthy refuge and command center. The main building has three floors, possibly with reinforced bunkers underground. The perimeter has double-layer walls, electronic surveillance, vibration sensors, patrol squads. The internal guards are elite and familiar with the terrain. A strong assault would require at least a battalion’s forces.”
“So, no large-scale attack.”
Victor walked to the sandbox, “It must be like a scalpel—precise, quick, lethal, making the issue disappear before the world even reacts.”
Kennedy and Kitchener exchanged glances, understanding the leader’s intention.
Admiral Kitchener said slowly, “Alfonso Portillo, Herman Portillo, and the possible presence of the UK’s senior representative Richard Salisbury, to completely paralyze the decision-making core of the Guatemalan rebellion, to cut it off before border incidents occur, and obtain evidence of their collusion with the UK. The operation must be absolutely secretive, and upon completion, should have the ability to control the local situation, preventing Guatemala’s army from a large-scale backlash.”
“Like the Soviet Alpha Group’s 1979 raid on Afghanistan’s Presidential Palace, eliminating Amin.”
Kennedy added, a glimmer in his eye, “But we need it cleaner, more efficient, and conducted in a nation not in a state of full warfare.”
Victor looked at Kitchener, “Horatio, you’re the expert. Tell me what we need, how soon can the plan be ready.”
Admiral Kitchener’s mind raced, weighing forces, equipment, intelligence, time, risks, and all other factors.
“We need the following conditions, Leader.”
His voice was steady and powerful, “Real-time accurate target location intelligence. It’s not enough to rely on schedules; we need to confirm the target is indeed in the manor before launching the action, preferably identifying their specific location. This requires high coordination and risk from insiders, or other technical means.”
“Bennett’s insider, ‘Mole’, can attempt to provide real-time signals. Additionally, General Zolf’s ‘Hummingbird’ drones, if they can infiltrate the airspace near the manor, might confirm thermal signals or electronic signals.” Casare interjected.
Kitchener nodded, “A most elite special strike team. The size should be small, kept at two reinforced squads, about 30 men or less. Personnel must be proficient in nighttime infiltration, helicopter rope insertion/air insertion, close quarters battle (CQB), demolition, communication, and intelligence processing. Equipment needs the latest personal gear, including silenced weapons, night vision, thermal imaging, breaching tools, communication jamming equipment. They need to control the main building quickly, clear guards, locate and control or eliminate targets, and collect key evidence.”
“Draw personnel from the Air Force Special Forces’ 23rd Company ‘North American Divine Sword.’
Kennedy suggested.
“Colonel James Water can.”
Kitchener agreed, “Considering the distance and Guatemala’s air defense capabilities, the best approach is low altitude, nighttime, helicopter infiltration. At least four specially modified helicopters with radar stealth coating and low-noise rotors are required. Two carrying strike teams, one as a command and support platform, one as a reserve or for outer perimeter monitoring/evacuation. The flight route must be meticulously planned, using the terrain’s radar blind spots, maintaining radio silence throughout, relying on inertial navigation and possible insider signal guidance at the final stage.”
“I think we can completely utilize insiders to ignore air defenses!” Casare spoke softly.
But when all the generals looked over, he chuckled dryly, “Of course, that’s another approach, let’s hear yours first.”
“The deeply modified Mi-24 ‘Ghost Eagle’ can handle it. We have three that completed all modification tests, the fourth one will be ready next week. Their streamlined shape, coatings, and engine noise reduction treatment are sufficient to evade Guatemala’s old-fashioned radar at low altitude.”
Zolf Sherman: “Pilots selected from the 201st Night Attack Helicopter Squadron, they are familiar with Central American terrain and ultra-low altitude nighttime flying.”
Kitchener continued, “Once the strike team launches, it needs to ensure the manor is isolated from the outside within a certain timeframe, preventing reinforcements from interfering. Meanwhile, it must address possible contingencies, such as target escape, large-scale firefight, or even intervention from some units of the Guatemalan military.”
“This requires electronic warfare suppression, an airborne rapid response force on standby, preferably another helicopter-borne infantry unit, and a ‘bee swarm’ drone group deployed near the border, ready for precise strikes or chaos creation, to divert attention from Guatemala’s border troops.”
“Electronic warfare is handled by ‘Hummingbird’, capable of suppressing communication signals within the manor and surrounding kilometers. The rapid response force can draw another company from the ‘Coahuila’ regiment, waiting on our side of the border with two additional ‘Ghost Eagles’, ready to cross borders to provide assistance or interception when necessary.”
“The ‘bee swarm’ deploys according to the original plan, ready to cover the border line or conduct surgical strikes on shallow depth targets within Guatemala.” Kennedy quickly added.
Kitchener looked at Victor, “Once the mission succeeds, Guatemala will inevitably plunge into temporary chaos. We need a contingency plan to support a pro-Mexico, or at least neutral, interim government, quickly stabilize the situation, and immediately disclose evidence of the Portillo brothers’ treason and collusion with the UK, pointing international public opinion towards London.”
Victor listened quietly, “Kitchener, you have full authority to formulate a detailed operational plan, code-named ‘Bone Knife’!”
