Chapter 106: Hidden Emotions

The next morning, after taking his bath and putting on some fresh clothes, James was standing in front of the bathroom wall mirror and checking himself out.

"The bullshit I have to start putting myself through..." He sighed, as he adjusted his clothes.

The fact that he has to start taking care of his public image is tiring but he has no choice. He has to make himself presentable.

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, he felt that his clothes were too shabby and decided that he would buy better ones later.

The clothes he’s wearing are those that he bought from the small clothing store back then. But since he’s trying to break into the elite society, he has to start dressing properly.

For someone like James who doesn’t care about what he wears and things like that, this is going to be quite difficult but it has to be done.

"Dress the way you want to be addressed." He muttered to himself.

After a few more checks, he smiled in approval and left the bathroom. He walked into his room, picked up the Gemera key fob and his phone, and left his room.

He made his way downstairs to the living area. As he got closer to the living area, the deliciously familiar aroma of Patty’s cooking entered his nostrils.

He made his way directly to the kitchen to greet Patty, but as he got close, he saw that she and Leslie were already setting the table.

He smiled and walked up to them.

"Good morning, Patty. How was your night?" he greeted, giving her a quick peck.

"Good morning, sweetheart. My night was fine. What about yours?" Patty replied, with a smile as she continued setting the table.

"It was great," James replied, as he took his seat.

"Good morning, James" Leslie greeted, as she took her seat.

"Good morning, Leslie," James greeted her back.

He turned to look at her and he noticed that she was dressed... differently. How should he put it? She dressed nice like she was going out and he couldn’t help but be curious.

"You going out, Leslie?" He asked curiously.

"Me? No, why did you ask?" Leslie asked, with a proud smile on her.

"Well you’re all dressed and dolled up, I couldn’t help but think you’re going out. Maybe going out to see someone? A date maybe?" James said, with shrug.

Though his voice was calm, one would notice the slight hint of jealousy in it.

"What date? What makeup?" Leslie laughed when she heard what James said.

"I don’t have any date and you know I don’t do makeup. I just want to dress up and look good today." She replied.

"Is my dressing bad?" She asked, as she adjusted her seat back, and stood up, doing a small 360, giving James a full view of what she was wearing.

James smiled when he heard Leslie’s response, secretly letting out a sigh of relief. He turned and took a good look at her, admiring her beauty.

"You look perfect," he smiled, and started eating.

Leslie hearing James’ compliment, smiled brightly and sat down.

"Thank you." She said, as she started eating her food, happily.

James wouldn’t lie, Leslie looks dashing in her dress. To him, Leslie always looks beautiful no matter what she wears. But she was looking exceptionally beautiful today.

Leslie mirrored her mother so closely it was almost eerie — same soft jawline, same natural elegance — but where Patty’s eyes were a deep brown, Leslie’s blazed an electric blue.

Her black hair gleamed under the light, flowing down to rest neatly on her shoulders. Small red lips, a dainty nose, and a glow of effortless youthfulness gave her a beauty that felt almost unfair.

The tight, white crop top she wore looked like it was squeezing the life out of her breasts, emphasizing her upper figure and perfectly complementing her cute face. Her tight blue jeans hugged her hips and pushed her backside out, making sure any man who looked would find it impossible to look away.

James was almost unable to look away, but after living together for over a decade, he had gotten used to it — at least. But she caught him off guard today with how she decided to dress up. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

James smiled as he continued eating his food. He doesn’t want to be thinking of something like that right now. He has things to do and besides, he has a date with Natasha later in the evening.

Patty was watching the interaction between the both of them, and she smiled to herself. She sensed the jealousy in James’ voice when he was asking Leslie if she was going out on a date.

She knew that the two kids have something for each other but are probably too scared to say it. Was it because of her? She doubts it. Because even she....

She smiled and quickly dispelled her thoughts, focusing on her meal. She feels that when the time is right, everything will settle itself.

As James ate, he arranged his plans for today. His plan for the morning was to go get himself some good quality clothes and a full set of top tier golf gear. He already searched for it online and knows where he’s going to get it; Bel Air Country Club Pro Shop.

It’s a shop belonging to a club he must join to start making his way up the ladders of the elite. They also have a private gold course but he won’t be able to go there, as its name implies; it’s exclusive to members only.

And if James wants to join, he will have to get invited by someone who’s already a member, and also pay the entree fee of almost $200,000, with monthly fee of more than $800.

James doesn’t want to rush things. He can’t seem too desperate or they won’t give him face, and even if they do, they will look down on him and walk all over him. He has to present himself properly, the right way and through the right channels.

That is why he also plans to hire a private golf coach. But not just any golf coach but who’s connected to the elite and can introduce him to the right people, without making it obvious.

This is what they call making your money work for you. Making money work for someone isn’t always be about making more money. Sometimes, it’s about building connections and getting access.

Though, progress might be slow this way but it’s still progress. After all, great things take time to build. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

After James was done eating his meal, he stood up, thanked Patty, giving a quick peck and glared at Leslie, who was smiling at him.

"I’m going out," he said, as left the dining area.

He made his way down the living area to the inner door of garage. He opened it, walked in, and walked to the Gemera.

He was about to open the door but standing in front of it, he realised something; he can’t just be casually driving the Koenigsegg Gemera all the time and to just anywhere.

First, it’s too loud, sending out the wrong messages and it attracts way too much attention.

Yes, it’s cool whenever he drove it around and grabbing people’s attentions. Especially when he went to UCLA, but since he want to behave like the elite, he has to start thinking like them.

"Time to get more cars."
