Chapter 144: The Country Club’s Weekly Tournament

James was instantly alert the moment the name "SouthPark Group" left the caller’s lips.

His mind snapped awake like a switch had been thrown. He recognized the name immediately. SouthPark Group was the firm overseeing the final transition of his trust — the one that had been in limbo for the past week.

A transfer that involved shifting managerial control to Oceania Private Trustees, the offshore corporate trust company he’d chosen to handle his long-term wealth strategy.

He sat up straighter on his bed, and asked with his voice clearer now.

"What’s the update?"

Richard Anthony, the man on the other end, didn’t waste time, as he replied, "The transfer has been completed, Mr. Zolomon. Oceania Private Trustees is now the official corporate manager of the trust."

James exhaled slowly and nodded to himself.

"All legal filings are finalized," Richard continued.

"Your documentation will be delivered digitally today, along with physical copies for archival. Someone from Oceania will be reaching out shortly to introduce themselves and discuss your next moves — specifically, the $350 million currently parked across your LLCs and whether you’d like to consolidate or redirect."

James nodded, even though Richard couldn’t see him.

"Thanks for the update," he said.

Richard added a few final remarks — mostly procedural — before ending the call.

James stared at the ceiling for a long moment after the line disconnected, letting everything sink in. The final step had been made.

The trust was no longer just a container. It was now an active entity — one managed by an invisible machine built to guard, grow, and shield everything he’d created so far and will create in the future.

James smiled as he dropped the phone on the nightstand and rolled out of bed.

He knew what the call meant. There was no more waiting. Today wasn’t going to be a slow day of rest after last night’s formal dinner. If anything, it was the start of another tightly packed schedule.

He needed to get in touch with Mr. Harrington to begin the legal process of transferring the two apartment complexes — the 90-unit building in Manhattan and the 54-unit property in Beverly Hills — into the name of the trust-managed real estate LLC.

He also needed to prepare documents related to his stock portfolio and, most importantly, the memecoin holdings.

The sooner these assets were under the control of Oceania Private Trustees, the better for him.

After a quick shower, James changed into his golf gear — a pale blue performance polo tucked into white slacks, clean golf shoes, and a minimalist belt.

He fixed his collar in the mirror, adjusted his watch, and headed downstairs.

The country club’s weekly tournament was today, and he was already pushing it for time. Not to mention, he had another session with Mr. Donovan later in the afternoon.

Between those two commitments, there was no window for him to handle the legal transfer himself.

That meant delegation. And the only person he trusted for it was Patty.

He found her and Leslie already in the kitchen, setting plates on the dining table. The aroma of buttered toast, eggs, and something sweet filled the air.

James greeted them with a soft smile as he sat down.

Leslie raised a brow as she looked at his outfit.

"Golf? Again?" She asked with a worried and concerned voice.

Patty gave a light chuckle, as she added.

"After yesterday, I thought you’d sleep in at least a little."

"I thought so too," James said, pouring himself a glass of water.

"But the club has their weekly tournament this morning... and Mr. Donovan’s session is still locked in for later today."

Both women nodded. The logic made sense, even if they didn’t like it.

Patty smiled and handed him a plate, and they all sat to eat.

As James buttered a piece of toast, he spoke casually.

"I got a call earlier — from SouthPark. The trust transfer is done. Oceania is taking over now."

Patty’s eyes lifted slightly when she heard this.

"Oh? That’s great news."

"They’ll be calling me soon," James continued. "But I want to get ahead of it. I need Mr. Harrington to start the process of transferring two properties into the trust. The apartment complex in Manhattan, and the one here in Beverly Hills."

Patty paused, her fork midway to her mouth.

"You bought properties?" she asked in a mix of confusion and surprise.

"A while back. Fully paid." James nodded.

"Wow! An apartment in Manhattan. That must cost a lot," Patty said to herself.

James smiled at her words but he chose not to make any comments.

There was curiosity in Patty’s expression, but she said nothing further, knowing now wasn’t the time.

"I need you to contact Mr. Harrington today," James continued. "Let him know we’re starting the asset transfer and that I’ll sign off as soon as the documents are ready."

"Alright," Patty said, her tone composed and focused.

James looked at her gratefully.

"Thanks, Patty. It’ll make things a lot easier."

"You’re welcome, honey."

Leslie remained quiet for a moment, then reached over and touched James’ arm.

"You sure you don’t need to slow down a little? Even your weekends are packed."

"No rest when you’re climbing a mountain." James smiled.

He finished his breakfast quickly, careful not to rush but clearly aware of the time. Once done, he excused himself and bolted upstairs to retrieve everything he needed — his golf bag, the key fob to the Range Rover, and the property documents in his study.

As he came back down, he found Patty still in the living room. He handed the manila folders to her.

"These are the originals," he said.

"I’ll handle it," she assured him.

James gave her a nod, kissed her on the cheek, and offered Leslie a brief wave. She gave him a half-smile and a light eye-roll.

"You better win something," she said. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"I’ll try not to embarrass myself," James replied, grabbing his bag and heading to the garage.

As the Range Rover reversed out of the driveway and rolled toward the Bel-Air Country Club, James smiled at everything that has happened so far.

With Oceania in control, he could start playing on a global scale — moving assets through offshore routes, leveraging investment-grade instruments, and eventually planting the seeds of a hidden empire built through LLCs, holding companies, and layered trust networks.

And he will slowly achieve his dream of having the biggest empire in the world.
