World Domination Begins With Getting a System in a Modern World-Chapter 71: Leslie’s Chatty Friends
Chapter 71: Leslie’s Chatty Friends
Meanwhile, upstairs in the living area, the girls were having a hell of a time.
Leslie’s friends had always been a lively and chatty bunch, but today? They were on another level.
The mansion, the luxury, the sheer opulence — it had blown them all away. And the person who was getting grilled the most about it was Leslie.
After helping clean up the dining area, Patty had excused herself to get some rest, leaving Leslie alone with the wolves — her friends. The moment Patty left, the interrogation began.
Selena, the most energetic of them all, wasted no time. She leaned forward, eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"Alright, Leslie. Spill. How the hell did your family go from that house to this mansion in a week? What kind of cheat code is James using? And don’t you dare say hard work — nobody makes this kind of money in a week just by ’working hard’!"
The rest of the girls nodded vigorously, their eyes filled with expectation.
Leslie sighed dramatically, crossing her arms.
"You guys sound like a bunch of detectives," she said.
"Damn right we are," Natalia chimed in. "Because this? This is insane. Do you know how much this house costs?!"
"I don’t even need to know the price," Natalie added. "One look at this place and I know it’s at least eight figures. And then there’s the cars outside? Girl, what’s happening?"
Thalia, who had been quiet so far, spoke up. "Leslie, be honest with us... is James secretly some kind of underground billionaire or something?"
Leslie rolled her eyes at her friends’ questions.
"Oh my God, no! He and Ralph just made a lot of money through business," she said in frustration.
At that moment, the girls turned to Natasha, who had been standing at the side, listening with a proud smile.
"So... Ralph made a lot of money too?" Selena asked, leaning in closer.
Natasha smirked, crossing her arms. "Damn right he did."
The girls exchanged looks of envy, not just at Leslie, but at Natasha too.
"Man..." Selena sighed, shaking her head. "What I wouldn’t give to have a brother like yours."
"Right?!" Natalia and Natalie chimed in unison.
Thalia let out a dramatic groan. "If only I was born into the right family..."
Leslie couldn’t help but laugh at their exaggerated reactions. "You guys are acting like we hit the jackpot or something."
"You did hit the jackpot," Selena corrected. "Do you even realize what your life is now? You’re living in Bel-Air, girl! Do you know how crazy that is?
You have celebrities as neighbors! Your brother is driving a freaking Koenigsegg! And your mom just got a Range Rover like it’s a casual Tuesday!"
Natalia sighed dreamily. "I would die just to take one of those cars for a spin."
The girls turned their attention to the driveway outside, where four cars sat gleaming under the evening light — the Koenigsegg Gemera, the Mercedes AMG S63, the Chevrolet Trax, and the newly delivered Range Rover.
Even the Chevy alone was a car that most people would be grateful to own, but compared to the others? It looked like the ’budget’ option.
Leslie followed their gaze and smirked. She knew what they were thinking. She knew what they wanted.
And honestly? She wanted it too.
"I’d take you all on a drive around the neighborhood," Leslie started, "but there’s just one problem."
The girls turned to her eagerly. "What problem?"
Leslie let out a dramatic sigh. "I don’t have a car."
The girls blinked.
"You... don’t have a car?" Selena asked, as if she had just heard the most absurd thing in the world.
Leslie nodded. "Nope. All these cars? None of them are mine."
For a moment, the girls stared at her in stunned silence.
Then—
"Oh HELL NO!"
Selena practically leaped off the couch, pointing a finger at Leslie.
"That is a crime against humanity!"
Thalia gasped in horror. "Your brother is out here dropping millions on houses and cars, and he didn’t get you one?!"
Natalia and Natalie both grabbed Leslie’s hands. "Girl. You have to demand a car."
Leslie rolled her eyes, but inside, she was dying of laughter. "Guys, relax! I will get one eventually. But for now, I’m fine. It’s not like I need it for anything important."
The girls weren’t convinced, but they decided to let it go. Besides, they understood they dynamic between Leslie and James, and they know just how much they cherish each other.
Since they could be driven around, the girls decided to go on a walk around the neighborhood, just to soak in the luxury of their new surroundings.
The entire time, they couldn’t stop daydreaming.
What must it be like to drive around here in a million-dollar supercar? What must it be like to live here, among celebrities and billionaires?
The thought alone sent shivers down their spines.
By the time they returned to the mansion, they were physically back, but their minds were still lost in their fantasies.
And from that moment on, Leslie knew that her friends would never shut up about this ever again.

The day passed with excitement in the air. The mansion buzzed with an energetic vibe thanks to Leslie and her friends, and even James had to admit — it was kind of nice having them around.
But as the evening settled, so did the atmosphere.
Dinner was served, and everyone ate heartily. There was something comforting about sharing a meal in a home that, despite its grandeur, already felt like home.
Once dinner was over, it was time for everyone to start heading out.
Ralph, being the gentleman he was, offered to drop the girls off, saving James the trip.
As the girls piled into Ralph’s Mercedes, they waved excitedly at Leslie and James, who stood by the mansion entrance, seeing them off.
"Bye, Leslie! Make sure James buys you a car!" Selena shouted.
"Goodnight, Leslie! Take care of my future husband!" Natalia teased, causing Natasha’s face to twitch.
James, watching from the side, shook his head in amusement as Ralph drove off with the girls.
With them gone, the house finally fell into a peaceful silence.
James turned toward the driveway, eyeing the cars lined up. He figured he might as well park them properly in the garage.
One by one, he carefully maneuvered each car inside, ensuring they were perfectly aligned.
When he was finally done, he stepped out of the garage, stretching his arms.
And then, out of nowhere, two bodies slammed into him.
James staggered slightly, caught off guard, as Patty and Leslie wrapped their arms around him in a tight, unrelenting hug.
Neither of them said a word. They just held onto him, clinging to him as if he might disappear.
James blinked in surprise.
"...Uh."
Leslie’s voice came out in a whisper.
"Thank you, James."
Patty’s voice followed, just as soft.
"For everything."
James felt something warm spread in his chest.
For a moment, he didn’t know what to say. He just stood there, letting them hold him, letting them feel the gratitude that words couldn’t fully express.
And finally, he smiled as he hugged them back.
