Chapter 244 - CH: 241 God King Odin
{Chapter: 241 God King Odin}
The sword in William's hand gleamed coldly as it slashed across the neck of the white-bearded old man. Blood sprayed through the air like crimson mist, and the old alchemist staggered back, clutching his throat in disbelief. His lips trembled, but no words could escape. His eyes, once filled with wisdom, were now clouded by panic and pain.
"You... you..." the old man stammered weakly as he collapsed to the floor, his body twitching in its final moments.
William watched with a calm, unflinching gaze. He took a slow step forward and looked down at the dying man.
"What do you mean by 'you'? If you see her down there, tell her William says hello." His voice was chillingly casual, his expression devoid of remorse. "Now you can die in peace."
Without another word, William kicked the lifeless body aside with his boot, sending it sliding across the polished stone floor. The thud echoed through the silent hall like a gavel slamming down with finality.
He turned his attention to the massive alchemy furnace that dominated the room. Its ancient surface was engraved with runes and seals that shimmered faintly with lingering magical energy. Fire still roared beneath it, and the faint scent of herbs and spiritual minerals wafted through the air.
"So this is the transformation and combination of pill, huh?" William said with a smirk. "Let's see if it lives up to the legend."
With a sudden motion, he raised his leg and delivered a heavy kick to the furnace.
Bang!
The enormous structure groaned under the force. The lid, sealed tight with heat and pressure, broke loose and crashed to the ground. A gust of medicinal smoke escaped, filling the room with an ethereal glow.
From within the heart of the furnace, a golden pill about the size of a goose egg slowly floated into the air. It radiated a brilliant golden light and pulsed with vibrant energy. It looked less like medicine and more like a divine artifact forged by the gods.
"Ah... so this is the pill of transformation and combination," William muttered in awe, reaching out to grasp it. The moment his fingers closed around the pill, he felt an overwhelming surge of vitality course through him.
Before he could savor the moment, a deep, commanding voice thundered from the entrance.
"Put down that pill. It is not something you are qualified to possess."
William turned slowly.
Standing in the doorway was a figure of unmatched majesty. Dressed in radiant golden armor and wearing an eye patch over one eye, the white-haired elder exuded an ancient, almost divine pressure. His posture was straight as a blade, and the air seemed to grow heavier with every step he took.
"Odin," William said, tilting his head. "I didn't expect you to show up so quickly. Seems I struck a nerve."
Odin's gaze was fixed on the fallen alchemist, and for a moment, sorrow crossed his face before fury overtook it. "You dared to slay the Grand Alchemist of Asgard? That man served this realm for centuries! Your crime is unforgivable!"
"Oh please," William said dismissively, tossing the golden pill into the air and catching it again. "You act like I committed a war crime. It's just a pill. One little golden candy."
Without hesitation, William popped the Glossary of Flow Pill into his mouth and bit down hard. A crisp crack resounded, and golden liquid light leaked from the corners of his lips as he chewed. He closed his eyes and smiled in pleasure.
"Mmm. Crunchy, rich, full of vitality—like a celestial snack. Your chef should be proud."
"Impudent brat!" Odin's rage erupted like a supernova. A divine aura exploded from his body, creating a storm of energy that whipped through the room. The floor cracked, the walls buckled, and the very foundations of the Alchemy Pavilion trembled.
With a final burst, Odin's energy tore the entire structure apart. Pillars shattered. Ceilings caved in. The once-pristine hall was reduced to rubble in an instant.
Caught in the maelstrom, William was flung through the air like a leaf in a hurricane. He crashed violently into a series of golden support pillars, each impact jarring him to the bone. He groaned, blood trickling from his mouth as he forced himself to rise from the debris.
Odin appeared in front of him in a blink, towering like an avenging god.
"Who are you? How did you bypass the divine barriers and infiltrate Asgard?" Odin demanded, his voice echoing like thunder across the shattered ruins.
William wiped the blood from the corner of his lips and gave a strained laugh. "As expected of the All-Father... that power's not just for show. You really pack a punch."
"Answer me!" Odin thundered. "Or prepare to atone for your sins with your life. This is your final chance!"
William's eyes gleamed with defiance, the golden light from the pill still flickering deep within his pupils like a distant star refusing to fade. He stood tall despite the immense pressure bearing down on him.
"You call it a sin," he replied, his voice filled with mocking disdain. "I call it research. And don't speak as if this is some friendly tavern where we can drink and chat like old friends after I answer your questions. That's not how this ends."
Around him, the space trembled. From the sky and the ground alike, Asgardian warriors flooded in with urgency, surrounding William in a tight circle of gleaming armor, raised weapons, and righteous fury. The gold and silver of their battle gear reflected the flames licking off William's shoulders.
"All Father, we were delayed—who is this intruder?" one of the captains demanded, his spear pointed directly at William. "How dare he trespass upon sacred Asgardian soil?"
"William!" a booming voice echoed from above.
William lifted his gaze to the clouds, and a smile crept across his lips. "Ah, Thor. Long time no see."
Thor descended like thunder crashing against the ground, his hammer crackling with lightning as he landed beside Odin.
"You know this man?" Odin asked, casting a steely gaze at his son.
Thor's jaw tightened with fury. "Father, he's a mortal from Earth. I crossed paths with him during my exile. But that man—he stole the power of Thor from my hammer. I don't know how, but he absorbed it."
"The humans of Midgard possess such strength?" Odin muttered, eyes narrowing in thought. "We underestimated them."
"I don't know how he made it to Asgard, Father," Thor admitted. "But it doesn't matter. He must be punished."
Odin gave a solemn nod. "He murdered the royal alchemist and swallowed the Glossary of Flow Pill—something that took over a century to refine. This act cannot go unpunished. He has stained the honor of our realm."
A wave of stunned silence rippled through the assembled crowd.
"He stole the Flow Pill? And murdered our alchemist?" gasped one warrior.
Another slammed the hilt of his sword to the ground. "He desecrated the pride of Asgard. We cannot allow this insult to go unanswered!"
Cries of outrage burst forth like thunder, echoing across the realm. "Kill him! Avenge our brother! Restore Asgard's dignity!"
Sif hovered in the air, sword in hand, eyes narrowed in cold fury. Volstagg gritted his teeth. Fandral frowned and asked, "It's that same Earthling... but how did he get here? The Bifrost has been shattered."
Sif scoffed. "Who cares how he got here? Let's make sure he never leaves. He will not survive this day."
"Yes," Fandral agreed. "Even the All-Father stands with us. Victory is certain."
Odin raised a commanding hand. His voice rang out like the toll of an ancient bell. "Warriors of Asgard! Bring him down—dead or alive!"
Without hesitation, the Asgardians surged forward, weapons raised high. Like an unrelenting tide, they rushed at William from every direction, blades, spears, and magic all aimed at his heart.
In mere seconds, he was consumed by the crowd—buried beneath a sea of armor, steel, and fury. The sounds of clashing weapons, grunts, and shouted war cries filled the air.
Then—
"Enough!!" William's voice erupted like a cannon blast.
A brilliant wave of golden light burst out from his body. The energy was so intense, it sent every warrior within range flying through the air like leaves in a storm.
"Aaaaargh!" Screams tore from the warriors' throats as they were hurled backward, smashing into walls, columns, and the ground.
William stood alone once more. Golden flames danced across his body like a living inferno. His clothes were tattered, his expression twisted with both pain and resolve.
His roar tore through the air as he raised his arms toward the sky, the heat distorting the space around him. Streams of radiant energy spiraled outward, cracking the ground at his feet.
Thor raised his hammer with fury and summoned a bolt of divine lightning. With a mighty swing, he hurled it toward William.
Boom!
The bolt struck the golden aura—only to explode against it with a thunderous blast. A shockwave rippled across the battlefield, but William remained standing.
Thor's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible. That lightning should have split mountains..."
Odin, watching closely, raised a hand. "Everyone, stop."
"All-Father?" the warriors echoed in confusion.
Odin's voice was solemn and knowing. "There's no need to strike again. The power of the Glossary of Flow Pill is beyond the limits of any mortal body. He has taken in one go. He will not survive it."
As if on cue, the golden flames around William began to flicker and fade. His body trembled. Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth. His knees buckled.
"Agh...!" he gasped, coughing blood. He stumbled back, his eyes wide with the raw energy tearing him apart from the inside.
With one final breath, William collapsed to the ground, unmoving. His body was still, the remnants of the pill's radiant power shimmering faintly before vanishing into the air like a dying star.
